    He's kocking in centuries for fun in practice these days. Hopefully he can bring it to the match table more consistently and he'll easily be a top 16 player in the future

    14:30 of course has Neil Robertson stopped playing while a 147 is happening next to him once again - he needs to process why it's always him who is next to 147s haha

      It's funny, I just responded to someone saying that Mark Selby is on the receiving end of a lot of 147s. All this data is recorded and accessible. Are you sure you're not experiencing cognitive biases?

    AST using 17 minutes (which is unfair because he had to have a safety battle with Mark Selby before he even started) is 28 1/3 seconds. It would be about that if every shot required you to go all the way around the table (doing stun run-throughs or something). Noppon did not delay doing anything; he is constantly checking options/angles and the layout of the table when he's not lining up for a shot. As the commentators said, he was being very deliberate. So anyone saying this took a long time (and they see "Selby" on the screen) should probably not comment.

      @@sladjanivkovic2 He's 30 and there are so many good players. No one is claiming he's the greatest of all time, just a tremendous player. I mean, in other sports there are more players on a team or two than compete in the tournaments.

      @@truthsayerq7264 I agree that "deserve" is a silly word (much like "should") if it isn't backed up by, like you said, statement of facts; you need an authority to use them. That being said, it's been quite clear to me since I was quite young that people say things like what you responded in a very cavalier manner as encouragement. I actually really dislike it but I've learned to tolerate it to a degree. I mean, don't even get me started on calling people the greatest of all time and even the acronym GOAT (It used to be "From goat to hero" and now GOAT means the opposite. At least it doesn't exist in superposition or whatever word you want to use for words like "literally").

      AST of under half a minute.
      Copy-paste:
      In fairness, a 15 minute+ break seems a little slow (but this is a 147), but it's not like Peter Ebdon or something. He is, as the announcers said, being very deliberate (and he's playing against Mark Selby...) and trying to slow the game down to focus, treating every shot with care (thinking multiple balls ahead, of couse).
      *Potting 36 balls in ~17 minutes (which is a little unfair to use because of the breakoff/safety shots) is an AST of 28 1/3 seconds*. That is not that slow. Ronnie has said that the rules are that the player dictates the speed of the game (hence why Peter Ebdon could do what he did, although the ref could've intervened with delay of game-like warnings and fouls).
      Are you simply insulting a young player with tremendous potential from Thailand getting his first competitive maximum?

    This is not happening in five minutes and twenty seconds, is it.

    • @notbrianbradley
      @notbrianbradley ปีที่แล้ว

      It's actually been officially changed to five minutes and eight seconds if you're referring to Ronnie's first maximum that holds the record. But you know what else didn't happen in five minutes and twenty seconds? Every other 147, including by Ronnie.
      Ronnie has also said that the ref played a huge part in that record maximum and the different way the refs are requied to move now (and if you notice, Noppon doesn't mind when the ref gets in the way to respot the black at the bottom (not the side, which is reasonable and Ronnie doesn't complain) of the table; he goes behind her.) that his record will (probably) never be broken. That said, *Potting 36 balls in ~17 minutes (which is a little unfair to use because of the breakoff/safety shots) is an AST of 28 1/3 seconds*. That is not that slow. Ronnie has also said, regarding the ref allowing him to pass before respotting the black from the bottom of the table, that the rules are that the player dictates the speed of the game (hence why Peter Ebdon could do what he did, although the ref could've intervened with delay of game-like warnings and fouls).
      Also, Ronnie got a chance right away with a bad break-off shot (not to take anything away from it other than to say that Noppon had to have a safety battle with Mark Selby before even beginning).
      Are you simply insulting a young player with tremendous potential from Thailand getting his first competitive maximum?
