I consider Al to be the main character of this show. He has the most interesting narrative arc throughout the show. He goes from wanting the fame to realizing that there is more to life than fame.

I can agree! The only difference is that honestly I think he never wanted the fame. He just wanted a life where he could live comfortably. Rap was the only way he found successful. That’s why he struggled so much with trying to keep it real and having to play the “role” of a rapper.

I was worried that Alfred was going to screw up his fame and fortune in the last two seasons, but I love that his closest friends kept him grounded.
I also loved that despite blowing up, he still got into some ridiculous circumstances. Crank Dat Killer being one of my favorites lol

Thank you for including Samuel Blenkin’s “Don’t Want More.” It really encapsulates Al’s identity and struggle in a unique way that takes a moment from the chaos to just show the raw emotions of him. And Im not just talking about the song, The scene itself is truly powerful along with the shot from 5:07 really shows Brian Tyree Henry’s incredible subtle acting
