I was in Flam for four days, exactly 5 years from today. I miss Flam. It is a peaceful place. I actually made some friends there. It is nice to see the cruise ships every day with different people. I heard is very boring during the winter though.
In 1992 spent 3 months in Norway, camping, washing in rivers, eating cold food. Took a ship Tromso to Svalbard. Couldn't do it now I'm 59. Great memories of my youth.
I was there a few years ago. It's a very attractive place but I've seen just as nice in other countries. Also, I'd hate to be there during the winter! Nice for a visit though - go from Bergen by ferry and back to Bergen by train.It can be done 'the other way round' but the ferry/train option is more awe-inspiring with regard to how the scenery is encountered on the journey than the train/ferry option.
I lived in Norway for several years and I know it well . The rugged beauty of its landscape has its charm but the rough weather and long dark winter nights are tough and depressing . I believe that the most beautiful villages in the world are in Switzerland 🇨🇭
How I wish I lived there. I would wake up before daylight every day, do all my chores so that I can spend my day basking outside, hiking until late evening.... But who am I kidding, I'm a noon rabbit, not an early bird.

Norwegians are quite fond of Flåm as well. They refer to it as "a well regulated" town, which for Norwegians, is the ultimate compliment.
It's very nice to see something like this once in a while.
Flowing stream alongside the train, boating through the mountains, valley, total greenery and above all the serenity is stunning.
