Castalia, NC community gathers to show respect for Captain David "Pacman" Braswell

This morning the small Nash County town of Castalia home of 265 residents became a place of respect when firefighters from multiple counties and jurisdictions came together to pay their respects and thankfulness to one of their own Mr. David "Pacman" Braswell who is battling pancreatic cancer.
Units staged just south of town and at 11 am began a journey along NC Highway 58 and the route took the process by Mr. David Braswell and his family's home on the way through town to the local community park.
Pacman was able to watch the parade of friends and colleges during the procession from his yard with his family by his side.
Throughout the route was numerous citizens that came out and lined the streets of NC Highway 58 and along the route were signs and American flags placed to honor Mr. David Braswell.
Speaking with community members Mr. Braswell was a well-respected individual during his 38 years on the Castalia Fire Department and with his time as the Town of Castalia maintenance department.
