The best material to filter tilapia water

The biggest problem with filters is maintenance.
I have already tried hundreds of materials and ways to filter fish waste, whether it be sponges, foam, Dacron, stones, gravel, sand...
All of those materials work, but they are SUPER difficult to wash, which makes them highly impractical.
With this filter + the decanter I have managed to make it work on a small scale, a good balance between cost, efficiency and easy handling. On a larger scale it would no longer work as well.
