THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO'S MARTIN IT BRINGS BACK MEMORY'S IN THE 80'S OF ME AND MY FATHER-N- LAW AND WIFE CAMPING IN THE WOODS AT WRIGHT CITY MO BACK IN DAY GARY...PS MY FATHER-N- LAW WAS A OLD WOOD CHUCK LIKE YOU MARTIN I MISS HIM ALOT!!!!
I see why you fell in love with the place so many years ago, pure natural beauty all around you all day long and another great picture at the end of video, thanks Martin 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Thank you Martin. Trees are blooming in Atlanta. My bees are ready for spring. So far no snow for us. I see Crappie fishing soon with my Grandkids. Tell the Missus “Hi” from us all. Safe travels back to you
That’s the life Martin. That is such fun to see these videos. What a blessing you have in that place.
Hi Martin, my and I have recently discovered your great videos. Thanks for sharing your love of the northwoods with us.
Happy to have you along.
Martin, your walks in the woods remind me so much of my walks in the woods as a child. My grandparents lived on 100 acres in northern Indiana and about 50% of their land was heavily wooded. So many Sunday afternoons spent walking the serene trails, listening to nature and having great conversations with family. It doesn't get much better! Thank you
I bet Kevin worked up a gi-normous appetite that day!. He has a healthy appetite to begin with, let alone after a day of skiing through the woods and fields with you. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us snowbound and homebound sedentary types! Stay safe!
your videos sure do keep us cool and relaxed here in south australia. Thanks Martin, enjoyable as always
Next winter I need to wallow in the snow and give a shout out to the Australians that are following along.
Always a great way to end the night , getting notified of a new video
Thanks Martin, just brilliant, I just love watching your videos mate, Thanks again. Seeya Rob
I really enjoy these walks. Thank you for bringing us with you!!
Thanks for bringing me with Martin. Great posting!!!! 👍
Thanks again Martin, always good to see a notification in my inbox from you,
Beautiful winters hike through the forest. I bet that deer was frantic for sure. That’s something when there’s more wolves than deer tracks. I bet the Cabin makes for a cozy night sleep in the winter. Keep on keeping on and Best of luck always and thanks for sharing your videos.
I've never seen snow before but it looks like it hasn't been snowing for a few days. It just looks so beautiful & cold. Meanwhile in South Australia we're expecting 105f - 40c temperatures for at least the next week. ☹️. Thanks for sharing Martin, your videos keep me cool. LOL. 😊👍🏼
If you have never seen snow and you are in Australia I suggest to take a hike up towards a mountain range and get a lot of pictures while you're there you're going to be quite amazed enjoy your day
cgriggsiv. We only have hills where I live but very occasionally a place called mount lofty which is by no means a mountain will have a slight dusting of snow. The problem is every man & his dog goes up there to check it out. LOL.
Thanks Martin for the tour. I enjoyed your video and wish you all the best. Mike
I hope you enjoyed your last day at the cabin Martin, thanks for the video. So peaceful and silent.
Great tour and different view of the cabin. I am sorry it’s your last day at the cabin in the woods. Thanks for taking me along.
Thank you Martin. I do enjoy these trips with you sir. All the best to you and yours.
Thanks again Martin. Always looking forward to new vids. Dan from Jersey

Hope Kevin enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed watching it.
That’s when coffee is at its best. You can rebuild it, make it better, stronger, cooler! You have the Technology!

A walkabout with a 360 degree camera would be a nice video to see. As always, thanks for posting...
Yes, myself am sorry seeing you go I enjoy your video very much. Thanks from Belfast, Maine.
Watched them all. I enjoy your videos.
Great video Martin,i wonder what it was like when Sven lived there in his cabin, such beautiful scenery...thanks for sharing ...love your videos!
I think it was a pretty hard existence back in those days.
Martin, another great video. Your love of and appreciation for the bush is heart warming.
I remember during the deer season finding where a coyote had killed a rabbit.I wanted to know where the chase started, since I knew where it ended. It took 45 minutes to backtrack the chase in the snow! That coyote earned that meal!
Good man Martin , keep them coming ! Greeting from Philadelphia Pa .
The worlds highest throne! What a hoot.
That was a nice walk in your forest grove. Nice night pic.
Beautiful story God bless you both 🙏
Thank you so much!
Nice. I've put this on loop and I'm going to have some coffee with you.
I didn't know that "throne" was hollow. That's a hoot.
Cinnamon roll? I can warm them up for us.
Thank you martin for the wonderful video's for me and my grandchildren to enjoy
Fun to watch, Martin 😊 thanks
a bit of prose for you.....and a thumbs up....."it was not a castle there...but I could dream a future there....like a King upon a Golden throne.....I would sit me down to rest...like a Snowbird on its nest......and read that Sears and Roebuck Catalog"......good stuff right there...and quite pertinent....Thanks.
And thank you!
Martin I think you have chosen very unique areas for hiking in and I do believe that is the largest natural throne in your woods and any other ones that I know of
like you, I think all of that natural stuff is amazing
Thank You Martin, your videos are a great way to start the morning. Keep em coming.
Great another Martin @ the cabin.
Thanx
It’s a beautiful place for sure, but all I can think about lately is spring! I’m just itching to plant something!😇😇😇 thank you for sharing😇😇😇.
I know you've worked so hard with your cabin & it's worth to me a million $$ thank you Martin ..I'm in Pittsburgh Pa..so if you have ever been here YOU NO WHY I think it's $$$ hate the city life..some day though...
Excellent Video as usual.

Kevin is like the energizer bunny.
Another great adventure thank you
Nice walk thanks for sharing
Hello guys. Wish we had some sunshine here in the Norther Sierras, it's been constant rain and snow for the last couple months. Whether report shows another month of it.Been a cold winter. Global warming people not talking much about it. Thanks look forward to next show, your friend Roy.
Not much sun here in Illinois either. Lots of ice and many taking serious falls on it.
Thanks for taking the time to video for use
Nice Martin, great seeing the matured woodlands and pleasant weather.
Yes it's a wonderful place
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Nice history.
Thanks for the great video! Not sure of the condition of Sven's stove but I would rescue it an reuse it for either cooking outside or a table or something useful!
I need to cut it out of the roots and see if its good for something.
Thanks for the tour.
Hey Martin, if you want to see some large white and red pine you got to go to the lost 40. It's worth the trip.
I'm going to miss your cabin videos om Saturday mornings.
I really like watching your vids ..& I can only dream of it..so thank you
What wonderful walk you had so much snow.
Great one, Martin, very enjoyable video.....greetings from Baltimore, MD.
sad to see old vacant cabins a lonely feeling know they lived their life's and are gone
And a hard life it was out there with smudge pots in the summer to combat the bugs.
I enjoy walking through the woods radio sure is nice country up there
In the scene where Kevin is reducing layers in the background, you look 20 years younger! Wishing you'll be walking that loop when you're one hundred.
I would like that.
Thanks for the tour. Brian 78
Thanks Marty!
Thank you
Thanks
Looks like it was perfect
Martens always a pleasure to watch you wonderful videos thank you very much
Love the winter woods! Very interested in your skis. Please tell us about them.
th-cam.com/video/jiqGx7mA3nU/w-d-xo.html They are slow and do not really glide well but for my use they are the best. Actually made for the mountains but great for my use.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Looks like they would be great for bushwacking through the timber and easier than snow shoes to walk with. I remember a time when I was much younger that I tried cross country skiing though the woods. It was so frustrating that I finally took off the skis and just trudged through the deep snow.
Martin , Please tell me you have some one to take over your cabin in coming years .
👋👍😊 faain!
Excellent vid!
Just curious since you've mentioned bears in other vids, have you ever stumbled upon a den out trekking in the winter?
I know you wouldn't disturb it, and neither would I, just would be interesting to know.
Once is late winter I was sure I was hearing a cub and headed out of the area fast.
Same thing here only coyotes every deer track has a coyote track but not much happens untill the young are born then it's all smarts by both but it's the way of life!
20 coyotes were killed this year within 5 km. That is not even half. They sure are hard on rabbits, deer and cats.
At clip segment start at 1:33 up to clip 1:50 , is that protruding plant species in the snow also know as ( Labrador Tea ) ??
Yes it is.
WHAT IS THE LONGEST YOU HAVE EVER STAYED AT THE CABIN MARTIN????
A number of 30 day trips.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 THANKS MARTIN!!!
I meant my wife and I. Thanks trip back out to Sven's place.
Is the area u hike private or public?
Love your videos
We own 40 acres in the middle of 40 square miles of public.
Martin or anyone else that would know, what kind of young tree is in the center of the screen at 6:24? I think the ones around it are the same. I have searched online to identify it and came up with nothing.
That is a Balsam Fir. In the wildlife openings I have to pull them like weeds in a garden or they will grow so thick as to shade out everything.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Thank you, very much!
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Those are the kind of Christmas trees that we had every year when I was a kid. Many moons ago.
Why wouldn't you reclaim that old stove and get it closer to your place?
I need to cut some roots to get it free, its on the list.
hi Martin,, that was before the heavy snow, :0) we have lots here in Eastern Ontario,, How do you like the Hok skis? I'm thinking of trading in the snow shoes for a set, do you find pulling the loaded toboggan into camp better with skis or snowshoes? thank , Bob
For my uses I really like the Hok skis. I use many of the same trails every few days so the ski track really makes things easier. I did try snow shoes for a short time one winter. For the first trip through I found them similar to the effort needed with the Hok skis. Once I had a sled track smoothed out in the snow that still required the snow shoe or ski I did not like the snowshoe at all, such an abrupt stop with each step where as the Hok was so smooth.
TheNorthwoodsman1 awesome, thank you, kind of what I’m thinking at present we snowshoe into camp about a mile , with packs and toboggan full of gear, next on the list is some Hok skis , seems like a better idea. 👍 thank you, Bob
HI MARTIN YOU COULD GET LOST WITHOUT YOUR MARK'S BIG WOODS NICE VIDEO'S YOUR COFFEE BUDDY GARY!!!
I know the lay of the land well enough now that a compass would keep me out of trouble.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 I'AM GLAD SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T KNOW COULD GET IN ALOT OF TROUBLE MAYBE....
Mmm coffee
You're going to come down with Pneumonia, Martin.
I used to live in Montana. Here is a picture from Nevada City of what is probably the tallest throne in that state.

Never used it. Don't know how its engineered. But the imagination for this is fraught with entertainment.
Oh, and yes. It's real.
Nice concept for the two story outhouse. I was surprised how worn the lower entrance was?
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 You mean the clients are in a bigger hurry to leave?
Thanks for sharing.
