- LIGHTWELD LASER WELDER
At IPGPHOTONICS booth at PRI show 2023.
this laser welder was unreal to try. This thing gives absolutely professional results for a zero experience welder. Yes, they're expensive, but man could you ever pump stuff out quick with these. Laser welding is here! maybe it has been forever, but I've always been sceptical til seeing it, and actually trying it in person. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
MOAR POWER
I see what you're doing there :) new biz idea haha
Hahaha not quite! Definitely really cool tech to try though!
Is the shield lens in your hood the same?
Yes we were using a standard welding helmet!
It would have been nice to see some vertical welding.
Really wonder how that would be! Should have asked her to hold the piece up lol
Something that doesnt fit into tight spaces, is not the future. Would love to see you try to weld something like a car exhaust with that. Cute bench demo though
Things will get more compact over time im sure. These are more for production work, can't see an exhaust shop wanting a 35k USD welder when a mig-pak 140 would do the job if you know what I mean. lol
@@AtlanticBuilt a welder that costs 35k is hardly the future either. Even laser cleaning machines are under that now. In 1 sentence, what makes this machine better, more mobile, for 35k, than a traditional welding machine. If it cannot be transported to the field, used in a tight space, and costs more i do not see the benefit
Very nice!
But the price?😮
You'd want a big productivity gain to justify it. You could use less skilled labour I guess for volume work and that would work money wise.
Quality control and WPS can't be elliminated but I could see the reject and rework orders going down.
I wonder what the price of a Chinese model would be?
Like all new technologies, the price will come down dramatically over time. Example, big flat screen tvs were thousands of thousands of dollars less than 20 years ago. Now a 65" 4k TV can be had for $600
Yup! Very good point! I'm sure they'll become more compact aswell!
I think the "knockoff" kinda deals can be had for around 6-8k. I could see these being a huge production gain in the right application
What kind of gas do they use? I guess I missed it!
I want to say it was pure argon!
I wouldn't trust an apprentice with that. Wonder how many fried retinas this thing will be responsible for.
I'm sure this was said about all mig welders aswell.
