This week I also pulled a perfect little crime as inspired by you (going to Dynamis for an A rank) to finish off the A ranks in ARR content achievement, finished off the SHARED fate grind in the last two SHB zones I needed to get The Invisible Hand title, turned in 60 things to Anden and while it doesn't count overall since its a holiday I did the 2023 Starlight achievement! I look forward to these videos now each week and it's inspired me to work on my hunt achievements more and stop neglecting hunt trains. Good luck on your grinds!
for the SS ranks there is a random chance of spawning the adds (minions) after killing any S rank in shadowbringers or endwalker zones. however, you can fail spawning the SS rank if any of the minions lose aggro after they're pulled, so make sure there are at least a few people at each one when fighting in case the main tank dies. they can also despawn if no one pulls them after some amount of time (maybe 5 min, i'm not sure exactly on the time). also, the minions are considered B ranks, so they count towards the B rank achievements too!
This past week, inspired by your video i cleaned up my missing hunt marks as well as finishing my missing boss fate. Ive also have started to do my ocean fishing achievements. Ive gotten 215 points since your last video reaching rank 127 on my server.
Re: your comment at 16:38, I personally love some of the alliance raids so far - Wiping City, Dun Scaith, and all three Ivalice raids are my favorites as someone who hasn't cleared ShB yet. But idk if I'm an outlier lol. I know people who hate snoozefests hate CT and Void Ark, and people who want an easy time avoid Ivalice, but idk if most players dislike alliance raids in general
I'm not the one in the video, but I'm also an Ultimate Thrillseeker that still goes to S Ranks. I do it because I spawn stuff and at this point like 90% of my friends in game are other hunt people. Depending on where it is in the patch cycle it's also very good money!
I absolutely love this series! It's making me get back to the achievement grind! Also that blue pig is from my DC, they're a gigachad of achievements they're rank 6 on my world!
3:58 Not to mention that Stone Vigil has maybe a dozen groups between walls, meaning if you attempt - emphasis on ATTEMPT - to wall-to-wall here, you'll get eviscerated in 0.2 seconds.
i love the ivalice/nier raid series just because there's the potential for so much carnage (and more fodder for my good samaritan achievement!) but i agree, they should make them more rewarding. personally, i'd love if they took a leaf out of bozja's book and made savage versions of the alliance raids!!
the double S rank explained: the ShB and EW S ranks have an about 10% chance of spawning minions when they die. You get a message in your chat log ressembling "the minions of a powerful mark have appeared" and a bunch of people in shout chat starts shouting "minions!" or "adds!" depending on the DC. The 4 minions will always be on the same spots on the zones, so if you dont know where to go, ask in shout chat and experienced hunters will shout back the locations. you have 4 minutes to start engaging the minions (thats never an issue unless you are on Dynamis at late night / early morning hours). The minions themselves count as a B rank. Wait until you are at least 7-8 players nearby before engaging a minion. since they have insta-kill mechanics, if someone solo's a minion and dies and the minion resets, they ALL dissapear and it's over. When all 4 minions are dead, an SS (Forgiven rebellion for ShB marks, Ker for EW marks) will spawn, always at the same spot on each zone. for achievement purposes, the SS counts as a regular S rank, but the rewards are greater (400 nuts and a greater amount of tomes).
I feel your pain about Phlegethon lol. I always tell people "if he's at 10% HP when he starts casting the second flare, it's safe to greed" and usually more people will stay in and we'll get the greed.
i'm with you on the rare drops idea... they already do it for minions which is fine, but imagine if they brought back the dungeon mount from Ala Mhigo or as you said more furnishing and just glam in general... great way to run old content!
3:20 Shadowbringers and Endwalker late stage bosses: Are we a joke to you? (Some of those QTE moments hit different bro) Stone Vigil is also just roughly designed for tank/healing relationship because it just has so many corners that are 270 degree turns which is annoying because line of sight
And the craziness continues! For leveling, it can also be good to do the battle quests from the previous expansion tribe (in this case the pixies in Lydha Lran), doing all three quests will give around 1 million xp.
Since last week's video, I have crafted my 30th, and then 70th unique armorer recipes, synthesized my 1000th level 81-90 recipes with armorer, crafted my 3000th HQ item as armorer, killed my 100th A rank in Endwalker regions, finished paths 9 to 12 + map completion in Aloalo Island, finished my dragoon anima and completed part 3 of the Manderville dragoon weapon. Currently sitting at 17,540 points (Lalachievement scoring system), or 18,615 points (ingame score). Achievement hunting sure is a lot of work, isn't it?
What Did Squid Do to You? is an achievement. Squid Squadron bonus: "As a party, catch 400 or more squid." (Available on the Ruby Route) Squidzure Dragoon.
as he talks about dropping rare things off raid bosses... This used to be a thing. The final loots would have a rare item that could be used by crafters to make epic furniture. Btu that practice went away because no one really cared about them.
The s rank and the a rank train community is pretty awesome and dedicated and it's so true you see the same people at them. I got all the mounts. Then took a break, still have the last s-rank and a-rank achievement to go.
The titel you never seen before is from ocean fishing of the eastern routes (i think it was the rubysea one). So you will get to it anyway when you start the fisher achievments since its tied to one
orbonne monastery is based. i look forward to every single upload of this series, its just so damned entertaining and makes me want to actually do hunts again
Regarding the susanoo fight. The ruby weapon in shadowbringer had some nice cinematic moments like catching a meteorite and stuff. It felt so badass holding a meteorite off with my reaper scythe
Can't wait till we get to see the grind for the rare map clears. Nothing like bad RNG getting to decide how many times you have to run certain tiers of maps.
I believe in you Red mage angr-tato. I really enjoyed RDM, it feels fancy, and pretty to watch the spells. Good luck with the grinds, I believe in you. I am also a lala-felon but I main DRG :3
playing DPS and watching the Tank and Healer f*ck up and die while trying to maintain the party structure is like watching your parents bicker and fight.
Cider Im not sure if you know this but I figured id point it out. You've inspired me to also start achievement hunting and The Fall Guys collab event actually counts towards your achievement rank!
Just to reiterate from my comment last video, if you want to go for Ultimate Thrillseeker your pace will pick up a lot once Dawntrail drops because of double instances and everyone coming back for the new expansion
It'll be minimum 3 instances. Possibly more, since we have unprecedented numbers of people who return for major story updates like that. The other consideration, though, is that in order to truly maximize that fresh expansion hunt frenzy, you end up pressured to rush through the MSQ. Hunts aren't going anywhere! But you only get to play through the story for the first time, once. (Yes, New Game Plus is a thing, but my point stands! Make the choice that works best for you ♥)
I totally agree with the rare mounts or furniture in alliance raids. The hype of seeing one drop would be so cool. They should also do the same with dungeons. Still don't understand why Ala Migo is the only dungeon with a mount
as a note, red mages are always a good dance partner ! they can make full use of the buffs as their bursts line up well with dancer. otherwise whoever's got the highest hp usually means best gear, and as such, best partner o7
Part of the functionality of Dance Partner (for the Dancer's benefit) is Esprit generation, which in turn lets you use Sabre Dance (a high-potency GCD gauge-spending attack) more. This benefit is triggered exclusively by Weaponskills (not Spells, not Abilities). Red Mage's only Weaponskills are the 3-combo rapier attacks, the conal melee AOE Moulinet, and the melee Repise/ranged Enchanted Reprise actions. As such, any melee job (DPS and Tanks) will be the far superior choice for that particular aspect of the Dance Partner/Closed Position buffs, since the majority, and hardest-hitting, of Red Mage's kit are all Spells and Abilities. Samurai is an excellent choice for both reliable Esprit generation and overall raid dps bonus - even if the Samurai in question isn't especially skilled. Monks and NInjas can be absolutely amazing, but there's a much greater gamble in skill/performance for those jobs if you're just partying up with people you don't know in the Duty Finder. If you're not at all concerned with Esprit generation, choosing a high-performing Black Mage or Summoner can also send the overall damage way up. If all the other DPS are dead, or you're doing something like a deep dungeon, tanks are a more balanced option for both boosting damage and getting Esprit generation, but certain healers can have very big AOE damage and would be more worthwhile with the buff for big pulls.
@@KristinBowles oh i agree about melee and specifically samurai usually being a good/the best choice! but esprit generation typically isn't much of an issue in casual df content, and sometimes you're left in a situation where you've got all casters, or your original partner is dying a lot, in which case rdm can benefit a lot from the partner which contributes well to overall party dps, especially since blms can be pretty hit or miss lol. i play dancer a lot and im mostly speaking just from experience! in the end though who you partner is not a huge deal in df content :)
Yeah, even for an experienced healer, that last pull in Stone Vigil can be extremely tough because you just don’t have the abilities to keep up with the damage. You don’t have any of your big instant heals except maybe Benediction on WHM.
Stone Vigil has more reasons why it's so rough: This lvl for *all* classes minus AST don't have their mana regens at that lvl. And most healers have gotten no accessories (because old design assumed you were buying them from crafters) meaning their heal potential is absolutely pitiful. Tanks don't have their short cd accept Sheltron for Pali. Then everyone have terrible gear also hurts :) even more if they haven't done their job class quests.
I am Ultimate thrillseeker from 2020 or 21 don't remember really. I have kill probably 7k S ranks and 15k A ranks. I have basically every achievement from Hunt category. People do that for loot, obviously also, there is specific achievements like kill 1000 Endwalker S raks 1000 Shadowbringers S ranks etc. for title and mount's.
"S ranks have specific conditions that need to be fulfilled before they spawn", here I thought I was just unlucky and missed 95% of them due to being a day player on my server, if nothing else looking at the requirements it explains why I barely see any of the ones in Thanalan, "complete all FATE events on the map for an hour" for Southern Thanalan, that's just evil
Nunyunuwi has a special place in the hunt community's hearts. Because of the time investment it takes, and the higher priority of other hunts, it gets left un-spawned very, very often 🤣
@KristinBowles honestly I think the biggest problem isn't just the time investment, it's the size of the map. I'm pretty sure ST is one of the larger maps in ARR
I used to duo-spawn that hunt back in Stormblood, before we had Blue Mage, and the size was annoying, but manageable. BLU makes it fully solo-able now, but it still takes that full hour, and there's twice as many S Ranks that can spawn in that hour than there used to be!

These videos are if Epic Movie Trailer voice was just my stream of consciousness when doing my own achievement hunting and I am here for it.
for the SS ranks there is a random chance of spawning the adds (minions) after killing any S rank in shadowbringers or endwalker zones. however, you can fail spawning the SS rank if any of the minions lose aggro after they're pulled, so make sure there are at least a few people at each one when fighting in case the main tank dies. they can also despawn if no one pulls them after some amount of time (maybe 5 min, i'm not sure exactly on the time). also, the minions are considered B ranks, so they count towards the B rank achievements too!
24:55 That was clearly Hyperman.
This past week, inspired by your video i cleaned up my missing hunt marks as well as finishing my missing boss fate. Ive also have started to do my ocean fishing achievements. Ive gotten 215 points since your last video reaching rank 127 on my server.
Thank you for making my friend's Alexa play Tiny Dancer while we were watching this on his TV during a hangout.
I am LOVING this series. Please keep it up!
19:49 The one with 0 kills, 5 deaths and 3 assists easily did the worst of that scoreboard.
The thrill of the hunt is its own reason to do it, the community is another, and the CURRENCIES CANNOT BE DENIED!! :D
I very much enjoy these videos. Thanks for sharing your progress!
I absolutely love this series! It's making me get back to the achievement grind!
Also that blue pig is from my DC, they're a gigachad of achievements they're rank 6 on my world!
3:58 Not to mention that Stone Vigil has maybe a dozen groups between walls, meaning if you attempt - emphasis on ATTEMPT - to wall-to-wall here, you'll get eviscerated in 0.2 seconds.
i love the ivalice/nier raid series just because there's the potential for so much carnage (and more fodder for my good samaritan achievement!) but i agree, they should make them more rewarding. personally, i'd love if they took a leaf out of bozja's book and made savage versions of the alliance raids!!
the double S rank explained:
the ShB and EW S ranks have an about 10% chance of spawning minions when they die.
(Some of those QTE moments hit different bro)
Stone Vigil is also just roughly designed for tank/healing relationship because it just has so many corners that are 270 degree turns which is annoying because line of sight
And the craziness continues! For leveling, it can also be good to do the battle quests from the previous expansion tribe (in this case the pixies in Lydha Lran), doing all three quests will give around 1 million xp.
Omg I know that blue pig, she is an achievement hunter as well and I helped them a lot when they were doing their map ones. They are awesome!
17:41 - Ahh yes, rare furniture like the Archon Throne pieces in the arr alliance raids....
Ker's skeleton is Scylla from the ARR alliance raids, IIRC
He just randomly got a nightmare. That's a pretty rare drop. Even for ARR. Congrats!
I don't want to even fathom the kind of grind hours in FF14 it takes to flex on Cider. Real Warriors Of Light.
The Achievements never end for the mad baby. Cider suffers for our amusement. God bless you man for everything you do.
Squid Squadron bonus: "As a party, catch 400 or more squid." (Available on the Ruby Route)
Squidzure Dragoon.
"it was pretty fun to play but i cant tell what the heck i was doing" that is how i approach most of my classes in this game.
as he talks about dropping rare things off raid bosses...
11:35 Once you get all the ponies there’s a special pony you can unlock from the Wandering Minstrel that also nets you an achievement!
fyi, bozja's zadnor FATEs was my way to fast cap alt jobs even to 90, was even doing that while also working on capping those bozjan 3 stats thingie.
23:30 is that THE Spagoodle McNoodle?! (She's very nice and a good friend)
The titel you never seen before is from ocean fishing of the eastern routes (i think it was the rubysea one). So you will get to it anyway when you start the fisher achievments since its tied to one
daily and weekly hunt marks are worth picking up when leveling
orbonne monastery is based. i look forward to every single upload of this series, its just so damned entertaining and makes me want to actually do hunts again
Stone Vigil is absolute hell and you nailed every part of why.
I believe in you Red mage angr-tato. I really enjoyed RDM, it feels fancy, and pretty to watch the spells. Good luck with the grinds, I believe in you.
I am also a lala-felon but I main DRG :3
Completing all the levequest types at the 5k total achievement of each category will take 7 years alone. GL :)
how do you keep track o fthe hunts spawns?
playing DPS and watching the Tank and Healer f*ck up and die while trying to maintain the party structure is like watching your parents bicker and fight.
frontline comebacks are real. Never give up. They happen more often than you think
you can catch these hands.... in 4 seconds. IM DEAD xD 6:05
17:10 You've got a point , ff14 really does need more fun gearing options for some of its content
I caught the Susano sword as dps once. It was epic. I thank the healers for keeping me alive during that..
I cannot wait to see you start hitting up Mentor roulettes 😁 It's whiplash going from a 30 second guildhest to a 7-novice extreme trial
"it's not something you want to do too many times ... unless it's Orbonne Monastery" Based take, huge W
extremely chill videos, thank you for 'em
Squidzure Dragoon is a new ocean fishing bonus title for catching 400 or more squid as a party on Ruby Route
Cider Im not sure if you know this but I figured id point it out. You've inspired me to also start achievement hunting and The Fall Guys collab event actually counts towards your achievement rank!
Bertha in Stone Vigil...aaah, those were the days...
Never seen that "Luckiest of Ladies/Lords" title either. Where's it from?
Make the choice that works best for you ♥)
Cool vid but what is that hud??
love this episode. keep grinding up!
13:17 Well isnt it obvious? its because its a dirty dirty Hippo
Very true, I was coming at this from an optimization/raid perspective, which definitely doesn't apply to plain old leveling and duty finder xD
Yeah, even for an experienced healer, that last pull in Stone Vigil can be extremely tough because you just don’t have the abilities to keep up with the damage. You don’t have any of your big instant heals except maybe Benediction on WHM.
I have done a roulette where my tank had no idea how to apply tank stance.
I had full agro on Ninja. All my good times. Our healer was a god though.
Lost it at Tiny Dancer, need to go chug a fanta and become smol.
Also! We didn't have flying in ARR zones back then. HUGE game-changer! But, again, it's still that full dang hour.
This is how I find out they removed the cannon mechanic from that Stone Vigil fight when they reworked the dungeon? Sad days.
On the next Misadventures of Cider Spider...
So what did you say to your boss for being late?
The Adds for the SS rank are 4 B ranks. The spawn chance is random.
