God doesn’t have to do anything but he chooses to because it’s in the scripture. You’ll have to be foolish to think people didn’t follow Jesus for their own benefit too. Yes they loved Christ and would die but they would be gaining so much more. Gods system is give and receive. No other way to cut it. We can do stuff not to receive anything back but that doesn’t mean God won’t give.

Gratitude is everyone yes I agree but the same bible , the same God says Test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” In Malachi …. And in Matthew does it say ask and it shall be given unto you ??? Being poor isn’t being godly

The saddest and most heartbreaking part of this video is seeing and hearing the people in the crowd cheering. He had them all fooled into believing he is actually teaching them something.
It reminds me of 2 Tim 4: ”For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.“

One thing is God is trying to build the foundation of my discernment because i’ve been feeling disconnected from a lot of sermons/pastors i started of watching because of this “Youology” complex. Your reading of the text from the Bible just dismantled what he tried to accomplish.

Also, after he went back to Elisha, he asked if he could take dirt with him. He asked Elisha if when he went to the temple of Rimmon with the king (one of his duties), would YHWH know he would sacrifice to no other ? The prophet said shalom, "Go in peace." Naaman, the gentile BELIEVED and had faith that YHWH is the one true GOD. Not all the nonsense of dipping in the water. I don't really listen to Mike Todd but when I do, I see how God can use anyone growing in perfection (not perfect, none of us are yet) to reach His people. It's funny but there are several people who God was able to reach through his style of teaching.
In the first clip you talked about, yes God needs something of us. The "matter" needed often, is our obedience to Him, and watching that clip alone justifies that.
God bless this channel, and although we are not to condone sin in anyway or form, these men (all preachers even the controversial) need our prayers. Like I always say, would we do better if we were in their position? He's not blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and if he needs more wisdom to preach we ought to pray for him on that, not point at him as though we would do a better job. • @kennethstandridge1205
      @kennethstandridge1205 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yes just don't get confused by "learn from no man." That wasn't suggesting we don't learn from others. That is how many abuse that passage and take it out of context. That was in reference to one's who were teaching the only way to know the word was for them to tell you the word. This is not a claim at not needing to have things explained. You even mentioned in your own comment when you said "Listen to pastor on Sunday." So clearly you see that verse does not mean just you and the Holy Spirit will figure this thing out. That teaching is taught by people who don't want to listen to sound teaching. All we see through Scripture is teaching after teaching from Paul, John, Peter, James, ect. Their letters were about their teaching the body of believers and telling them to "hold fast to the teaching they have received." So clearly, that verse is not telling us to ignore sound teaching. That passage is more about the Holy Spirit protecting us from error and that they had no need to learn anything "opposed" to what they had already been taught. It doesn't mean we sit at the house "us and the Holy Spirit" and the Holy Spirit gives us the yeah or no when we read a verse. That's what some Charasmatics say. We are commanded to rightly handle Scripture and it calls it work. Meaning we must put in effort to rightly divide the word. Many sit at home and believe whatever they "feel" a verse is saying that the Holy Spirit has somehow "confirmed" it in their "feelings." Awful false teachings have come from this thinking. Also there are many who believe this foolishness Michael Todd is teaching and think that it is sound Biblical teaching. So just reading your Bible isn't neccesarily enough if you are not putting in the work to read it rightly. His whole church believes they're reading the word right and they're not im always leary when I see someone say "just read your bible" like that means all is well. Unfortunately many if these people read their Bibles an have twisted the Scriptures all up.

10:08 I am not the greatest fan of Mike Todd. However, in his defense, as a well studied and degreed theologian, I can tell you that while his preaching is not always scripturally correct, and to your point “God doesn’t NEED anything from us.”, I must say that a relationship requires two entities or people. God is asking for relationship from us through Jesus Christ. Christ, while being God the Son, is the example.Throughout the Bible, we see God requiring something of the individual in order to produce a miraculous result. Jesus fed the 5000 from a little boy’s lunch, Naman needed to dip 7 times before being healed, David needed courageous faith in the Lord before slaying Goliath, Jesus needed the woman’s faith to heal her from the issue of blood, and we even see Jesus Himself needing to exhibit great humility before raising Lazarus from the dead. I get what you’re referring to regarding a Christocentric perspective, but I believe you may be in error here. I agree on the prosperity preacher strategies and mishandling of the Gospel message, but your suggestion that God doesn’t need anything from us is wrong. He does want our obedience, sacrifice, faith, and love. We must never forget these basic principles in our relationship with Him.

James 3- says not everyone should preach or we will be judged more strict, that our tongues is untamable and we all stumble but if we can teach the word (handle it) we should study to show ourselves approved. 1 Timothy 2:15. So as every man who preaches practices everyday to study and show themselves approved and not walking in shame. This just shows, because so many people think they can do this better, but don’t recognize that it’s hard to preach the word to all these people. That’s why a pastor oversees his flock and each title has a different meaning and assignment. But we all belong to one body Christ!

He says that obedience is the main ingredient for God to give miracles but if that was the case then people wouldn't be getting saved and called on by God when they are doing things that aren't of God. According to his ideology, God wouldn't be able to enlighten and save alcoholics, murders, prostitutes, or anyone else who is not living a life of obedience. So everyone who is receiving miracles would have to already be of the faith which gives no one who was led astray any room to actually come into the kingdom. In reality, most times God working miracles when we haven't been obedient is what shows his grace for us. If we live by our own merit then we overestimate our deservingness and underestimate the mercy we received.

I am in conflict because there are certain things that one has to do i.e obey God and keep his commandments which is the ultimate expression of ones love for Him.Omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient and Sovereign as He may be, God also has requirements and standards that we have to subscribe to as His children, according to His word. He is God all by Himself but He also seeks relationship with man and that comes with obedience and sometimes obedience opens doors, not only limited to physical material possessions but spiritually beneficial i.e family’s protection, healing, favour. I am by no means defending Pastor Mike Todd’s teaching but there is some element of truth to it.

Can’t you just tell them don’t quit on six Mike? Read the text!! Sad narcissist who loves the thought they’ll all be talking about HIM on the way home, not Christ 😡

My brother, you did a great breakdown of the scripture & the sermon. You are spot on with your review. Glory be to God who always causes us to triumph through Christ. I see much disgrace toward prosperity preachers/preaching. I would like to call us to open our minds to more. We have many biblical teaching on proserity. We have many biblical men/women who were prosperous & of God. The proserity isn't the issue. Maybe some teachings or part of the teachings are not in line with God's will, however, God is one of good. He is one of love. He is one of so much greatness we can't contain him in words. Why do we hinder ourselves to think the children of the king should not be prosperous of enjoy the spoils of life through Him? I have only said a little bit here but I do pray this can help overturn the minds that root in lack & struggle. God bless all who read this.

MT's performances are instinctively geared towards women.
I say that because men don't need the "dramatical" theatrics to hear straight word, particularly biblical word.
He like most blk new generation preachers use these theatrics to draw an emotional response from the mostly female audience, which we know biblically speaking are more susceptible in these things.
    Just saying!

Hey ! I enjoy watching your videos and your logic makes sense. I’m curious , who do you like to listen to ? I’m new to the channel but wondering if you could put out a video with a pastor teaching the message in a way you agree. Maybe even if you could take what is said incorrectly and match it with a sermon showing the correct way to present the info. I know this creates more work for you but I would highly appreciate it! I’m ok with being told and shown who I can’t trust but show me who I CAN trust ! lol all love thanks for your consistency!

Hey Jasmine! This is a great idea, I will try and work on a video of my favorite preachers! As for now here are some:
      Voddie Baucham
      Steve Lawson
      John Macarthur
      Ailstair Begg
      RC Sproul

So God will bless you materially if you obey? So the apostle Paul was disobedient then huh?

Satan will always use truth to establish his lies. False teachers do the same, that’s why the scriptures call them false teachers.

@@deswilliams-mcpherson I don’t agree with that he TWIST TRUTH entirely now if anything mike Todd said was deceptive or a lie I would call it out immediately but from the message I heard everything lined up with scripture he just decided to act out naaman dipping himself in water……. If we’re honest the Bible doesn’t even condem preachers for acting out illustrations

@@newrainmusic Brother, is not *twisting* the truth to speak a lie the same as *building* a lie on top of the truth? Are not the two still mixed in together? And is not this the deception at its core? Mike Todd is definitely not sent, and he is definitely a false teacher brother. A little leaven leavens the whole lump, therefore it must be thrown out, otherwise it will kill you. I love you brother and may the Lord bless you more. 🙏🏾🕊️💙
