I usually don't like photoshop tutorials without a voiceover since it's always super hard to follow and not really beginner friendly, but you explain things really well, thank you!

Hey, if you are having problems with overglowing objects and loosing darker details, try to change some of the ''Linear Dodge'' Blending Modes. When it happens with me I usually put the first layer and the last layer from the group as ''Hard Light''. But I don't recommend changing more than two Blending Modes because it will loose a lot of bright
Tried this, but it still orange-washes everything in the background of the image I'm trying to add this effect to. Reduced the gaussian blurred linear dodge to only 3 layers and radius of 5, 25, and 75, and although it helped a bit, unfortunately still looks more like a bad sepia filter on top of light from the glowing book. Even tried reducing the saturation of the Hue/Saturation layer, but then it doesn't give the book the nice colour that I wanted, so I think I will need to find a way to make it so that only the linear dodge layers get the colour, and not the background.

Excellent mentor, as always! I know Photoshop is the best, but I found myself a bit lazy, so I just needed something faster & easier. However, if I look for a professional retouch, other image editing platforms can't stand out. I found autoRetouch, and I found it so professional, simpler, and easier to use. I will try to implement your strategy on my tool.

I always tell my students that success in using Photoshop now depends on the use of layer masks. Without spending a little time learning about them, you will get no-where fast. However, I have been using Photoshop since version 1. We didn't have layers masks back in the day - we had to learn the hard way. The new generation of Photoshoppers have it so easy ;)

If I could say something, as a beginner I would love two things done a little bit different:
1. Be slower, as sometimes it’s difficult to follow you and pause and try to mimic you (my personal experience)
2. Adding some additional info as to why we do this or that and stuff like that (text or by voice) so that we can in future also try to do this to other pictures and projects and know what everything we did is for.
Other than that i really loved this! Thank you again ☺️

I have the same issue with speed, so I just go to the settings and set the speed to a slower one. Hope that helps.
