Thanks! Yeah, if this was a true 2.4 it sounds like a great fit for use with the Step-Cast forks, which are now limited to 2.4

Som let’s say my fork is limited to a 2.4. But if the 2.4 ran small, how likely would a 2.5 tectonite fit?

It's such a disappointment that the tyre isn't a true 2.4"! Other than that it looks like a really great option, but I'd imagine that will be a dealbreaker for a lot of people (myself included).

“Mauka” is the Hawaiian language word for mountain.

Why is he wearing a bicycle helmet in his garage?

I am sorry to say, but marketing team for this manufacturer, have f•••ed up I think. If you type MAUKA in translater online and translate from Latvian to English, you will see, that this is a poor choice of words 😀

Now if they would only make a 27.5 version

American Classic gravel tires are as steal and I really enjoyed them! They are heavy(ish) but I never once felt worried about durability which to me is more important. Stoked to have another alternative to not ever pay the #MaxxisTax again

American Classic proving once again that a tire doesn’t need to cost a small fortune to perform well. The tread pattern reminds me of the old WTB Weir Wolf which I loved 👍

Where are American Classic tires made? Because lately I have a big trouble trusting anything "Made in USA" with other Country components.

thanks for your review!! i ordered this brand (enduro version) and can't wait to use it... i currently use WTB Vigilante.

i wonder if they're going to release an updated version for 55 or 65USD in 6-8 month and stop producing the 45USD version like they did for the gravel tire. Their 35USD tires were a great deal, but now that they're 45, not so much. This XC tire is a decent deal at 45, but not really around the 60USD mark compared to the high end tires that have better rubber, sidewall and design.

I need a tire that is not going to go flat and can function on mixed terrain. Tired of changing tires on each ride and having to walk my bike to the nearest shop!

A 2 year warranty on the tires? Does anyone have any tires that have been mounted and last for 2 years?
Off to look at what that warranty implies.

Not sure why all their other MTB tires come in both rim sizes, but not the Mauka.

I have a set of American Classic Aggregate and can confirm that the wobble is a real issue with the brand in general. That said they do perform great if your looking for value. I did inevitably upgrade to Vittoria Mezcal but I wouldn’t hesitate to remount the American Classics if the need arose.

For sure, I mentioned it because two of the four gravel tires I got from them awhile back had the wobble.

    • @crevasse5396
      @crevasse5396 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Is it a wobble like out of balance or just tread misalignment? I have a front tire with what looks like just misalignment but it makes no difference while riding.

Here's my favorite Downcountry tire combos. (All of the these tires are 29er Maxxis 60tpi Dual Compound.)
2.6 Rekon front with 2.6 Ikon rear
2.6 Rekon front with 2.4 Rekon rear
2.4 Minion DHR front with 2.4 Rekon rear
A new redesigned 2.4 Forecaster was just just released and I think it might make a good front tire that will grip nearly as well but roll faster than the 2.4 DHR.
2.4 Forecaster front with 2.4 Rekon rear
Here's a tire combo that looks good on paper but sucks in real use.
2.4 Dissector front with 2.4 Rekon rear
The 2.4 Dissector is a lousy front tire.

Looks like a great option… now hopefully they will bring it out with a tan wall option. 😜

How so, I love this tire, it’s better than any tire in this category in my opinion, and it’s half the price.
