I had gastric bypass on Dec 16,2021. I'm down 160 pounds. The best decision I've ever made for myself! I'm so proud of you and am so happy to follow your journey!
My daughter is 28. She had gastric sleeve in April. She’s down over 75lbs now I believe. If you need someone to talk with about the experience etc she’d be happy to. Pls stay hydrated! It’s so important to keep everything moving thru your bowels. You look like you’re doing great!! Look forward to seeing your transformation and hearing about your journey. Good luck and God bless!
Congratulations on your choice! I am 3 months post op from gastric sleeve and 43kgs down (almost 90 pounds) it’s the best thing I ever did. And my capacity to drink normally returned at about 2 months post op which has been brilliant. Finally have control of my eating and portions. It’s brilliant. All the best

Hi, I’m getting gastric bypass in December. I’m so excited and terrified at the same time my friend has tried to talk me out of it and told me all theses horror stories that she has heard about. I’m glad I found your page ..
Trina I had RNY in 2012. At last weight I was 190 from 400 LBs I have not had any skin removal. You have got this lady! At your age you have a wonderful life waiting for you. There are so many groups you can join to ask questions however, ask your doctors and team first. Please drink your water it is easy to dehydrate. You are at the point of step one, sip sip sip your water. Next is get your protein in. If not, you could lose your hair, your skin could not have the elasticity you need for some snap-back. You are beautiful inside to out. You Got This!!
Had mine back in 1992 by the surgeon that perfected it, Dr. Harvey S. Sugerman. Back then, it was a huge incision from the sternum to the belly button; and it really, really was painful. I can tell you that the first few weeks and months it is extremely important to follow the post surgery diet exactly. Loosing weight at first will be really easy; but you really need to study food, the nutritional values, and learn it because after a few years, is when the struggle really begins because it is easy to forget what not to eat; and that you can 'bypass' the bypass by eating small meals. Best of wishes to you in your journey, it's exciting because it's like a 'new you' and you can start fresh; but never let your guard down when it comes to nutrition. Start a food diary, it helps a lot!! ALSO, make sure you get your labs done every year; because your vitamins/mineral levels are incredibly important, especially Vitamin B12! And while you can't 'gulp' water, water is very important. So sipping is great. And when you've 'over done it', a glass of water can be one of your best friends to 'bring it up' faster instead of being in misery for hours before it comes up. :p
So glad everything went well Trina, you have been so brave. Surgery of any kind is always daunting and a worrying time and you have breezed through it. It looks like your recovery has gone swimmimgly as well - so happy for you ❤
i had a gastric sleeve in july, i'm a similar age to you (27) and i was shocked at how seamless the transition has been! if you ever need anyone to talk to about the experience/advice im always happy! i joined a tonne of FB groups which help too. good luck, all of us as viewers are so proud of you!

My surgery is November 10th. I’ve waited for so long. It’s been well over a year now. Lots of tests and blood work. I had to go through insurance. I have sleep apnea so that is one thing that qualified me. The closer it gets the more I panic. 😅❤❤

While in the hospital, after I had my second baby, I had that same gas problem in my shoulders. I had a doctor friend visiting me at the time and I mentioned how bad I felt and he said it was gas that if I flip over on all fours (on bent elbows and knees) the gas would begin to escape out my bottom because the gas goes to the highest point (now my bottom up in the air🤪) to escape! Worked like a charm❤️ Love your videos, wish you the best in your recovery and look forward to more great videos ❤️ From Los Angeles, CA

Never underestimate the pain of trapped wind / gas! I’ve had friends (who have 2-4+ kids) tell me at times during some of their trapped wind pains it’s been on par with their labour pains. I have a lot of gastro issues & experience trapped wind a lot, good tip you’ve mentioned, thank you! I’m sure my disabled butt can roll about & get in that position somehow lol. But yes, very uncomfortable & very painful xx
You looked so much better after your surgery than I did after my hysterectomy. To he fair, I was very anaemic going into it. So I didn't look well before. I almost needed a blood tranfusion, and I did require an iron infusion after surgery. My surgery was not done laparoscopically, I actually had to have a vertical incision and staples. I have had laparoscopic surgery, and the recovery is easier, but still takes time. And it's easier to overdo it and regret it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤ for sharing your experience.....it has helped me immensely. My surgery is this Thursday 25.7.24 and I also think way too much, which increases my anxiety. I appreciated your positive, sensible and rational approach to such a major life event for you. I wish you every success and happiness ❤
RNY Gastric Bypass .... Jan 21, 2003 (just realized, couple days = 20 yrs wow) I don't regret it for one second! Those suuuuuucked, esp. just feeling tethered down & then, having them taken out; ouch.. but the freeeeedom after, was amazing! Wishing you the best of success, health, HAPPINESS.

I had gastric bypass surgery 12 years ago! I documented my entire journey on my page 12 year ago. I love watching others journeys ❤️ congratulations on your new life 😍
Congratulations. I’m so glad you didn’t get sick. The two surgeries (lower back) I got sick after I came out of anesthesia and it’s kind of scary because being sick is quite a strain and I was afraid I’d undo what the surgeon just fixed. My pain wasn’t bad either time. Probably because I was in so much pain before the surgery lol. Speedy recovery!!
Hiya Trina, I just wanted to check how you are doing a few days post-op? I really hope that your recovery is swift and pain-free and I look forward to watching your progress as I have been thinking about having the same procedure for myself. Sending healing hugs your way ❤

I have had the same surgery a few days ago and you have described what i have been through down to a t. Only difference is, my tummy (inside is still very very sore)
I think you're my doppelganger 😮 I'm not used to seeing anyone that looks like me. The way you smile, rub your nose, and even the way you blink is like me. 😮 The difference are you have perfect teeth, eyebrows, and lips. My skin used to look like yours when I was younger. Same color.I'm afraid to get the surgery because I gulp a lot of water and I always feel thirsty. I'm not even prediabetic according to my A1C. I'm 5 feet and 5 inches tall and I weigh 315 pounds. I don't know how to say that in the English way. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
I'm going to have my surgery in 2 months as long as I get my last authorization from cardio. So until then I'm not completely saying the date. But I'm sure cardio will be fine. I am in the US. We aren't allowed to use straws as it fills your stomach with air..so stopped that. I'm scared and excited about this. I'm praying for you 🙏
Hi hun, so glad your ok, just take each day at a time I listen to be body. I had half my bowel removed due to cancer and was in hospital for 5 days, took a long time to recover. Black liquorice is good for constipation better than fybogel etc. Take care. X x 😘😘😘
Thank you for sharing your experience with this iv qualified this year for same surgery you’ve had due to health issues main one being severe obstruct sleep apnea I’m not close to surgery day yet however it’s so amazing to see someone going through this as iv had so many questions and worries but this has helped me seeing your experience thank you wish you well 😊

Hello Trina. am so happy for you! Good luck with your recovery and take it easy. At least you had a gown that fit, mine never have when I’ve been in hospital. Don’t get me started on cannulas! 16 attempts was my record before I had to have a line put in. Complete nightmare. Unfortunately you might feel more symptoms when your pain relief wears off

I spend all day being sick , fainting and the acid reflux/stomach acid is horrendous as anyone else experienced this? No one knows what to suggest I’ve been through tests still no answers 🤦♀️ this is the biggest regret to date but hopefully if someone else has experienced the same or similar to give some hope it gets better x

Best thing for gas - heat pad & walking! after the op I was totally out of it 😂 would have been surprised if you had filmed! I got knocked out before I went in the room as I was freaked out x will you come to the losers ball in Leeds next year? x
Glad it all went well. Hope pain levels remain manageable. Look forward to next update. Take care and don't overdo it x
Your doing fantastic Trina . Yes, be kind to your self. Do absolutely nothing only sit around and sleep when you want to. So looking forward to your vlogs. Take care and the best of Irish ☘️ love and luck to you xxx.
You are so brave, really looking forward to this content and so proud of you! It’s not easy to make this decision and to strive for changes you’ve longed for. This is only the start and I cannot wait to see 💗 Look after yourself
I have had the same surgery a few days ago and you have described what i have been through down to a t. Only difference is, my tummy (inside is still very very sore)
Best of luck for a speedy recovery. All the best to you and wishing you success with your courageous journey. ❤
I hope you have a great recovery. I am looking forward to seeing the transformation and your new health.
I am happy you are documeting/vlogging experience. Thank you hun
I'm praying for you 🙏
I’m really considering surgery, I’m so glad I just saw you’ve done a video!
Have a good recovery
Good luck! I'm happy it was a breeze.
You are so brave to do this! I’m so glad it went so well! ❤️
Hi hun, so glad your ok, just take each day at a time I listen to be body. I had half my bowel removed due to cancer and was in hospital for 5 days, took a long time to recover. Black liquorice is good for constipation better than fybogel etc. Take care. X x 😘😘😘

Hi, Good luck with your journey, I had gastric sleeve surgery in Feb, happy to link in and support where needed, also live in Yorkshire so would love to catch up x
Hi Trina. You are so brave! Did you go private or was this NHS?
The room looks as if it may be in a private hospital, but I might be wrong.
great to see your journey. I have bypass scheduled on 18.0ct, so LRD rn. But great to see your hospital vlog :)
Sorry if you’ve answered some questions already but I would love a bit more detail…
Costs, your goal weight, expectations for the future etc x
I am so proud of you for going for this! You are such an amazing inspiration to everyone...even us "Yankees" in the US! Keep up the good work! Love you!!

Hello Trina. am so happy for you! Good luck with your recovery and take it easy. I recently had a kidney removed because of a blockage from having a UTI infection and my toes were curling as you were talking about your op! I also found morphine useless and was about to tell you to take Tramadol it is the best tablet in the world for pain.
Sending lots of love and will keep on checking in.
Tramadol doesn't work for me lol. Also wait I didn't know UTI can cause blockages and cause you to have to have it removed!!
@@peachxtaehyung hi, yup neither did I! I want to shout it from the roof to let women know. I am 59 yrs old and never ever heard of it. Only had 2 UTI infections in all the years.
So happy for you. Speedy recovery.
Trina did you go private or with the NHS ?
That’s what I’d like to know, and have asked.
@@donnajohnson8035 must have been private, you have to wait years on average for nhs
@@tinagillhamevans667 maybe she’d had it booked for a while?
@@donnajohnson8035 yeh maybe, but years?
Usually 6 to 12 months wait on the NHS .
I just started the process for gastric bypass. How long is the process for you, mine is 6 months until surgery.
Glad to see everything went well!
i got my surgery on july 19th and i remember clearly i was around 6 days po and i was super thirsty and just wanted to chug a whole bottle of water but i couldn’t🥲 but i’m all good now and already lost 40 pounds so far and i can drink water regularly!💓
Thanks for such a great video. So glad everything has gone well and sending lots of love xx
Amazing that you get to go home so quickly!
Omg congratulations 🎊
Another thing, you're so damn pretty at this size. I can't even imagine how you're beauty will be months from now
At least you had a gown that fit, mine never have when I’ve been in hospital. Don’t get me started on cannulas! 16 attempts was my record before I had to have a line put in. Complete nightmare. Unfortunately you might feel more symptoms when your pain relief wears off
wishing you a speedy recovery and a new life ahead . its not the easy option but the place you had it looked very good , where was it ? I have recently had spinal surgery so an relate to the water drinking before hand and the after effects xx
I saw a video here u got your sister new clothes because she lost weight..
Did u see for the better her life change help u make the decision to have the weight loss surgery?..
I'm sure it's not 100 percent the reason but did it kind of help u??
Hey. I’ve had the gastric sleeve in October 2023 unfortunately I haven’t be able to eat anything since.
So glad it all went well and you are doing great. Thank you for sharing xx
Sending positive vibes your way! You'll do great with this journey God Bless!
Congrats. I had sleeve surgery 4 weeks ago. Down 37 pounds so far.
Well done.sweetheart. you have such a positive attitude ☺️.
Take care of yourself. Follow the plan.
Love Lynne ❤️ xx
I hope you’re doing well :) thank you for sharing your journey, I’m considering getting a sleeve next year and I keep going between yes & no I just don’t want to never to be able to enjoy food again I love going out for meals haha 😂😫
I wish you the best on healing ❤️
You look so good post op 😻 glad it all went well for you! Xo.
Did you get this done on the NHS? If you did how long was the waiting time. Is it something they do relatively quickly or do you have to wait a year or so?
Glad your surgery went well! You are going to have so many clothes that won't fit soon lol
Thanks for sharing 😍❤️👍 quick recovery xxx
