Not if Tonex/B. Slade is not a willing vessel and his heart isn't in it. God doesn't need Tonex or B. Slade. Tonex/B. Slade needs God. God's people need worship leaders who desire to live for Christ and do their best to turn from their wicked ways (yet...we all fall short). That doesn't mean B. Slade has to abandon secular music...he has to abandon some of lifestyles changes [Philippians 3:7]. What I wish he and all lost souls will do, especially ones that have been leaders/pastors (like him) or really active in the church, is not become "weary in well-doing [Galatians 6:9]" and get back to living fully for Christ. The great thing about the God we serve is that if Tonex/B. Slade decided to really sacrifice all his selfish desires to live for Christ again [Philippians 3:7] (not just saying he's a Christian, but TRULY living it again), God will accept him with open arms...since he's essentially married to the backslider [Jeremiah 3:14]. In the meantime, let's keep him in our prayers. Demons are so mighty and influential and you never know a person's story and journeys in life; however, God is bigger and stronger. We have to make the choice to follow Him though. That's what Tonex/B. Slade will have to do. On another note, this guy is so ridiculously talented and I thoroughly enjoyed his vocal performance in this...Him+Rachelle Ferrell...that would be EPIC!!! He is truly the male Rachelle Ferrell...
God gives you talents to share with one another too. Yes, praise him b/c your talents come from HIm and Him only, but I highly doubt that this type of experimental, new age jazz vocals would fly in the gospel world! When he was singing gospel, his unique style of voice was not appreciated. Instead of focusing on the God-given TALENT and being blessed by that, people chose to focus on the controversy. B. Slade is right where he needs to be.
