June 6th 2020 message. If I could show photos here I would. This weekend I opened a 59P roll of Jefferson's and about 12 to 14 nickels are black beauties on Uncirculated nickels. The toning is remarkable! When compared with the 59D roll I opened also.....all the 59 Philly's have a Gunpowder grey tone on all of them. Question is....what do I do with these?
Before this moment if I came across a nickel that looked like the Black Beauty I would've pitched it in my change container thinking it was just a dirty nickel or one someone spilled soda on! Ugh!! The good thing is I have saved all of my change, so now I need to look closer at ALL my coins for all the things I've been learning! Thank you for the education I've been receiving on coins and currency!! Have a GREAT Day!!
Thank you very much for this information J&B no I haven't found a black beauty yet but now I have more coins to search for thank you again I hope mrs. B is feeling well and I'm still praying for a Santiago's miracle I hope he's doing well
I found in my collection a 2014 Black beauty dime and it's in really good shape no scratches that I can see with the microscope from the Philadelphia mint I enjoy watching your videos they're very knowledgeable

I actually have two 1959 Black Beautys. The first one I found while I was working for Dollar General back around 2008. The second one I found just a few months ago at my local flea market. The dealer had one and a 1959D packaged together as a set, in which I only gave $.40 for

Yes, i have a 1949 P Jefferson nickel that is black on both sides, I always wanted to know why is it like that so I kept it, and now all the TH-cam channels talk about the Black Beauty it's only made in the 50s but I'm pretty sure my 1949 P Jefferson nickel is a black beauty
I like nickels and yes I have several black ones. They are more prevalant in the older nickles than in the more modern dated ones. I can't think of any newer than 2000 in my small collection.
I don't own a Black Beauty to my knowledge but I am always on the lookout for them when Im coin roll and pocket change searching. Thanks J&B see ya in the next one.

I do have one but have to check it for full steps. I also have a quarter I don't remember the date. I just liked them and kept them because they're different. I have known they were a type of error but didn't think they would be worth much. Thanks for the video. Happy father's Day, J and a great weekend. All the Best. ☺

Hey absolutely love watching your super informative videos. I'm pretty new to collecting but I just recently came across a 2021 D Jefferson that i believe may be a black beauty variety. I have a 1940 Black Beauty. Have a bunch of old coins I’ve collected from waitressing days. Friend just clued me in on the black beauty. I always thought it was just really dirty 😊🤦♀️
Hi! I was shifting through my change and found a 1970 S Black Charcoal looking Jefferson Nickel in nice condition! Could you tell me if this might be a coin error? Or if it would be of any value?
I have a 1941 Black with no mint mark Nickel where all the fields are really black and only the high spots of the coin have wore back to the shade of a regular nickel. I also have a 1947-D Nickel that is Black especially in the fields of the coin and wore back to a little shine on the high spots kinda like the 1941 I mentioned. They look good to be so old with as many miles on them as they have. I've had them about 10 years and thinking about salling them. I just don't know if I should have them graded or not. What do you - y'all think.
I've got a nickel that is similar. I don't know if it's valuable or not, but I'm going to take it to a coin shop to be looked at. Thanks for this info.
I have 2 rolls of 1955P black beauties. bought them from a coin hoarder. Not sure what to do with them. They are in really good shape but I will check to see if any have full stairs.
Mr J, Mrs B had you ask if the 59s are worth money, well they all are ranging for 5c to who knows how much? But all kidding aside those that you showed and talked about would be something that all nickel hunters really would lo2 to have in their collections. Thank you guys for another fantastic video. Hope you guys are getting better. We all are praying for you and Santiago and we all need you guys. Thank you very much.
Yes i have 2 black beauty nickels i just recently posted my 1967 on eBay . I’ve got a 1983 D that I’m considering to post but with it having sentimental value I’m undecided .
I do have a few Black Beauty nickels don't know the date I also have a few newer quarters guitar tuning to a dark gray shade don't know if you have a video on it if you do let me know and thank you
I have a 1958 Black beauty. But I'm not sure if it's the real thing. Because this one has what looks like copper in some spots on the reverse. So would a real BB be completely black with no other metal showing? Or could it be wearing off here and there? If it weren't for the copper color and a couple scratches showing through, I would have full steps... just a beautiful nickel. Especially for a 1958 .

If it weren't for the copper color and a couple scratches showing through, I would have full steps... just a beautiful nickel. Especially for a 1958 .
