  • Sigma is traditionally known for having a unique "Pull Type" but the Sigma Max Series is a "Push Type" sigma cutter for cutting strong Porcelain or ceramic tiles. Vist our website www.centuratools.ca

It is still a push cutter with the handle set the way it was. Sigma makes There cutters where you push away from the fence. That way your measuring scale is closer to you and easier to see ,otherwise the numbers on the scale are upside down.

If you do it the way you suggest by pushing it as it is supplied, you will almost certainly push the tile away from the scale bar-stop and a bad cut will ensue. I agree though about the numbers being round the wrong way AFTER changing the cutter direction. In practice you can easily get enough downforce, even on the pulling action, without needing to swap the cutter.

I prefer to use mibe the otherway round, so in theory no need to change the handle round as he does in the video.
Reason i prefer to cut this way is because the measuring numbers are the correct way and much easier to read.

I just received my first Sigma after having it ordered five months ago. I ordered the max series in the size that would cut common 24" tiles. The cutter came 26" 3B4 with a pull handle. In the box was a max handle as well. I have no issue with swapping out the handle, but a couple of things bothered me. First, the guide bar was dinged up and had burrs on it's tile side edge. One stuck in my finger when I ran down it...second, the max handle had aluminum shards all over the bottom with manufacturer burrs that weren't cleaned up. My final gripe is my cutter has no support arms. I realize it's a 26" cutter, but why break out the big boys when the majority of plank cuts are cross grain. I run Ishii 29", Superior 17", Felker/Rubi ts 30, Rodia 75, the new Montolit 36" P5, and the RTC 53" Razor. I always wanted a Sigma and feel disappointed with what came from the factory. I tried it and it does cut very well. My beef is with the quality control and lack of support.

This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.

Is it possible to rotate the scale not to be upside down?

Seems to be a little confusion why you want to change it around. Pulling is easier to use. Pushing is for more power in scoring harder tiles like glazed porcelain.

Who came up with the idea of playing music across someone talking, very annoying when you are trying to hear someone properly. If you really have to play it, at least tone it down so we can hear what the guy is saying.

You do not need to change the handle. in reality it is much more ergonomic to leave it as the factory sent it out. Thanks

It can be used either way! Most people who purchase this unit buy it for a push method but if is possible to use it as a pull type as well.
