Great source of information for those transitioning from all grain home brewing to a commercial boutique brewing.

Love this series. I worked at an aseptic food processing plant and we used viton gaskets because it provided a good blend of heat resistance and resistance to caustic and acid CIP cleaning agents.
I always grab the wing nut side of the trip-clamp and swing around the opposite end. I like the one- handed action of yours!

Thanks for describing the different types of gaskets that go on the tri-clamps.

As usual, super informative and helpful video! As someone who'd love to get into the industry and work in that environment, I find these videos quite helpful and informative. Taking off several weeks to go to some place like Siebel is a bit prohibitive for me at the moment, so seeing hands-on videos like this that walk you through everything is quite helpful and is a good supplement to all the commercial texts that I've been reading.
Some topics I'd LOVE to see you cover:
    • transferring liquid at all stages - mash to boil, boil through heat exchange to FV, FV to BT, BT to kegs, and kegs off through the beer lines.
    • working with pumps - priming, troubleshooting, basic maintenance
    • CIP/cleaning procedures for the brewhouse - what is your brewery's process for ensuring everything is clean and sanitary
    • the chemicals you commonly work with - their use, safety procedures, storage
    • the maintenance procedure and schedule for various brewhouse components - like how often you replace seals, how often to do acid or caustic baths on components, fitting maintenance, etc.
Thanks again for such useful videos!

That is awesome to hear these videos are helping! My plan is the next ones will be cellar focused; Purging, Transferring beer, Cleaning Loops. When starting to work at breweries it is important to learn cellar technique first then move to brewhouse. I'll definitely make brewhouse videos as well. Currently trying to find some free time to put out more videos and comments like this help keep me motivated, cheers!

Fantastic! Well keep them coming. It's wonderful to have people in the industry willing to pass on what they've learned along the way in the form of videos like this and other formats as well! Hopefully some day I'll be able to do the same. :D

Great videos! I hope to visit your brewery sometime if I'm in Montana.
Another video mentioned when using these clamps, you should always secure the wing facing the ground. That way if the nut slips off, the clamp should still have a pretty good hold and keep things together.

Can u explain how to weld a TC ferrule on a pipe end

Are the pipe flange and gasket geometry universal? Or is buying one brand of fitting and 2,3,4 brands of gaskets a "mileage may vary" experience?

Great videos!! i have learnd a lot. I have a question: why you need to rotate the racking arm of the fermenter?? thank you very much!

    • @brewerylife3596
      @brewerylife3596  7 ปีที่แล้ว

+Cesar Francisco Chavez Avello The racking arm allows you to transfer clear beer off the hops/yeast that settle at bottom of tank. Rotate the racking arm to get beer and not yeast during transfer. Cheers!
