But in 2020, one of them passed away, and he dedicated the 2020 performance of this song to his friend. That was the saddest version of this song, he had a difficulty holding back his tears. As a One Ok Rock fan, this song will never be the same again after that emotional performance.

First time i watched some fancam for this song, im sure that he was singing live. But when it comes in beyond live. I thougt the same. Is he live or not? 😄. And then i compare to the fancam again, its definitely live. We can hear the crowd, the noise, the breath. Maybe because of beyond live is for broadcast, the audio man or whatever, they cut all the noises and the atmosphere. They want the output is very clear i think. But im sure yesung singing live 🥰. About sound, it was like this in every performance. TVXQ also sounded like it was prerecorded, but they sang live. I think it was a decision from sounding directors.
To be honest, it's really hard for me to tell if any Beyond Live performances are live vocals, whether SuJu or not, because the audio can be really weird at times to the point where sometimes it doesn't quite match mouth movements. I DO BELIEVE that he is singing live at the venue, but I don't know if Beyond Live is giving us those same vocals in real time, or slightly tweaked. Before they did concerts with live audiences during the pandemic, the Beyond Live concerts were pre-recorded and shown "live" later, but I think it's different now. Anyway, Yesung is absolutely amazing and a beast for doing this! I will probably watch this 50 more times before I force myself to move on, lol.

I was in awe and lost for word when I watched his performance in beyond live on the SMT day2. I saw some short fan vids on day 1 and I knew that he would did great as he always did in rock genre. But when I saw the full performance myself, it was not just great. I just couldn't find the words to describe it. Absolutely stunning and the best live performance of him so far for me. He was singing live, the audience were kind of muted in the beyond live, I think? I can barely hear the audience even during SJ's performance or the other performances. Also, the beyond live didn't really have great camerawork, tbh. In my opinion, the camerawork suck at some performances 😭 There were a lot of posts saying that when Yesung came out, people started screaming and the audience were so surprised and excited when they recognized that he was going to sing chaosmyth. Yesung did really well on covering the song. I am so proud of him. This genre suits him so much. I am looking forward to his next solo album 😭💙

Japanese concerts always seem amazing. The crowd is usually right into it. Covid makes it a bit weird though, because they have to be quiet. I actually have a live double album for one of the Japanese groups that I follow and sometimes it's disconcerting to listen to, because there's no crowd noise.

It's 99,99% live and you can hear his short breath, i saw another fancam who also recorded clearly and from comment i hear so far for those 3 days performances, each day he do it better than day before. I have a fond memory in this song and i love OOR so much too. I have watch their live concert too. And i also think yesung with his s Soft sound in first verse instantly bring nostalgic feeling. This song is difficult but i think this still in his usual range so no wonder you feel like this not 100 % live. But can you really do lipsync with a Live band?? I don't think so
Yeah as I thought those that watched all 3 days would be able to tell the slight vocal differences. I guess its the way its been captured for Beyond Live. But now it's quite revealing. For singing live or not, because the stage has a good sound system, they will sing live. But if the stage, the sound system is not good, it will help lip sync. In the individual programs, they talk about it. But yesung, now I'm not sure if there's any help or if it's live.
I second that. Being in SS9 and not bringing out phone is hard but I seriously enjoy the entire concert vibe and music much better when I decided enough recording is enough, I will now enjoy the performance and their songs. Best decision apart from when I decide to buy the ticket 😆

I know I'm commenting really late but i really don't think any of his ook covers were sung live. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of him but I'm afraid we were fooled. Check out his two live performances from the Japan event from 2 days ago. You can clearly tell that Slide Away was live but C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h wasn't. I have observed his live vocals for yearss now and it's very easy for me to identify when he's lipsyncing. I blame his company. If he wasn't trained to sing rock songs, why are they setting the wrong expectations? I kinda get this feeling that he has realized how much we love his voice in rock songs but he's helpless here.

In my opinion, the camerawork suck at some performances 😭 There were a lot of posts saying that when Yesung came out, people started screaming and the audience were so surprised and excited when they recognized that he was going to sing chaosmyth. Yesung did really well on covering the song. I am so proud of him. This genre suits him so much. I am looking forward to his next solo album 😭💙

Tbh i understand what you mean that it sound recorded the first half cuz I also doubt that bc of that front view and him using 2 hands covering the mic stand😅, but then the fancam from the first day which provided from yesung’s side view came out that makes me believe that he sang live through the whole song. Also comparing the fancam with beyond live, the loudness of audience sound are quite different so i guess it’s about the technical thingy that they try to reduce audience noise so those who watch from beyond live can hear the singer clearly.

The original ver. by OOR sound beautiful and meaningful as the way it is. I feel like Yesung singing this song into his own version rather than trying to cover it. He understand the song and convey it with every memories he has gone through thus I can feel the emotions he was trying to send out to the audience(bc i cried throughout half of the song 😂😭)

Japanese concerts always seem amazing. The crowd is usually right into it. Covid makes it a bit weird though, because they have to be quiet. I actually have a live double album for one of the Japanese groups that I follow and sometimes it's disconcerting to listen to, because there's no crowd noise.

I know I'm commenting really late but i really don't think any of his ook covers were sung live. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of him but I'm afraid we were fooled. Check out his two live performances from the Japan event from 2 days ago. You can clearly tell that Slide Away was live but C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h wasn't.
I have observed his live vocals for yearss now and it's very easy for me to identify when he's lipsyncing.
I blame his company. If he wasn't trained to sing rock songs, why are they setting the wrong expectations?
