I think when I was younger, I read a book about the nutcracker ballet, and the characters were normal ballerinas, but one of the male performers had been "transported" into the story's world, and one of the Clara ballerinas had to go save him and it was just so good 😭 I've always loved the book AND the ballet performance, so this really just made my day ❤❤❤
@KateCantDraw I had to do a little digging, but I believe the title is "Nutcracked" by Susan Adrian. It *is* a children's (ish) book, but that doesn't take away from its incredible storytelling.

I remember this story! Back when I was little, a tin soldier with one leg yet he could stand perfectly fine and a beautiful paper ballerina with a gold bracelet. I actually cried when I listened to this. 🥲
This reminds me of something, I once watched “The Nutcracker: The Untold Story” and the little nutcracker was actually a little boy and transformed after meeting this little girl
BROOOOOOO The Tin Soldier and Ballerina bit from Disney's Fantasia!? That was my favorite one as a kid! 😭💖Aw my gosh! This has absolutely made my Christmas! This is fantastic work and freaking adorable. The fact that he made the reference to the evil jack-in-the-box, I'm just- *mentally screaming while grinning like an idiot trying not to let my family see* Bless u for this one, m8🙏 🥺 the whole time, I was imagining the ballerina spinning over to the soldier and giving him a kiss like the last scene of the animation.👌 Edit: I would live to see more of this one if it were at all possible. It's so cute!
For those interested, this is probably inspired by "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" not the nutcracker. If I remember correctly it's a bittersweet story but a very good one
Oh, this brings back memories ❤ I remember watching a short about the one-legged tin soldier and the ballerina. He saved her from an evil jack in the box.
I saw the thumbnail and oh my gawd Ellis as a Little Tin Man?? HUG. IMMEDIATE HUG. PROTECT THE LITTLE MAN PLEASE! (Sorry for my high pitched anime fangirling, I just have this uncontrollable urge to get excited about things when I know a lot of effort, time, and heart have gone into it. In probably simpler words, I truely love your work, a lot, but don’t worry, it’s not too crazy to the point of it being parasocial. Happy Holidays Ellis!) [Also, the artist of the thumbnails, happy holidays to you too!] [[You know what, happy holidays to everyone, and I mean everyone-everyone]]
Ah! All these lovely people in the comments seem to have heard the same story I was told every Christmas Eve as a little girl! The tin toy soldier and the ballerina doll, it will always be in my heart. Thank you dear Ellis, for reminding me of an important piece of my childhood 💜 Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night
oh my gosh this guy is so sweet I can't- 😭 perfect for Christmas Eve Also I hope there's a part 2 lol, because I can't get enough of this lil Tin soldier-
When i was a child my favourite cartoon was "fantasy 2000" which has also the exact same story, so thank you Shining for this beautiful tip in the past
The tin soldier was my favorite story from Fantasia 2000 but there were no voices in that one so hearing you voice the tin soldier has just made the story even better for me! Thank you so much and Happy Holidays!
Such a cute audio, and the research on the tale is spot on. Why people keep mixing up in the comments THE TIN SOLDIER by Andersen and THE NUTCRACKER PRINCE by Hoffmann? They are two completly different stories😂
I remember this story about a toy soldier with a missing leg and the ballerina its been so long since I heard it in fact I think the last time I heard it was when I was 7.😅
(Possibly a spoiler) Wow! These are characters from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" (Den standhaftige tinsoldat)! A long time ago, as a child, I watched a cartoon based on this fairy tale, drawn in the USSR, and cried because the ending was very tragic! Please, if there is a part two to this charming story, will they be able to survive this time? 😢❤
