I love how Holly knew how bad Nia wanted it, but she was respectful and understood that everything you want, you can’t always have. That’s why she’s my favorite dance mom, she well educated, respectful, knows how to raise her kids and she’s gives proper tough love. Proof it's edited: At 0:24 Maddie is there with the other girls in front of a white background. At 0:26 she is in front of a black background with her zipper up. At 0:43 she is on a chair, still with her zipper up and no earrings. At 1:06 she is walking with her zipper down and wearing a hairclip and big earrings (which usually take a while to put on).
So her argument with Melissa was completely separate from Chloe's phone call.
Maddie is a great dancer but not good at sportsmanship and that's an issue

Maddie got the modern scholarship or whatever it was, not the ballet one. They also said Chloe was the top of their list, so they probably called Chloe earlier than Maddie. The producers didn't 'make' this, Maddie clearly acts bratty and stroppy right after the call, no one congratulates Chloe, Maddie and Melissa both say Maddie was upset she didn't get the ballet scholarship. It was in Maddie's nature shown before and after this episode to take losing badly, and always think she was the best or deserved to win everything, because of Abby making her arrogant.

Maddie got a scholarship too, it was revealed that Maddie and the moms, as well as some other girls were forced by the producers to say specific things to cause some drama. If you noticed, in some of Maddie’s interviews, you can see that she kind of stumbles over her words and doesn’t really have any life in her voice, in other interviews, she’s happy and doesn’t stumble over her words. That proves that this was edited by the producers to cause drama. You can even check on the Joffrey Ballet School website, both Maddie and Chloe was accepted.

Maddie also got the scholarship, but the producers didn’t show it for drama. Maddie really just wanted to organize. Yeah but it was literally a small cut and bruise, she was attention seeking with it, her Mum came to check her and she was still doing the same old pained face she does in her dances and constantly looking over at Abby for attention. She said Nia did it, then said to Brooke that she hurt her.
Whenever she lost, or did badly she would never be gracious and would look miserable, make a rude comment, hit Mackenzie, look shocked, cry, or look sad. She had an arrogant attitude, instilled in her by Abby

Fun fact: Maddie actually also got a Ballet scholarship. The certificate has Maddie and Chloe’s name on it. It’s just that the producers made it seem like only Chloe got it. Maddie went to her mom because she wanted to fix her makeup. And the producers forced Maddie to say those words as you can see when she stumbled a bit while saying it.
I thought she got a scholarship for Contemporary and not ballet. I heard there were different categories you could receive scholarships for.
She didn’t get a ballet scholarship, it was for jazz or tap (conflicting claims).
That’s what reality shows do

The show is scripted sometimes, maddie would never say that. Yes it’s true that Maddie is a competitive kid but Maddie would NEVER not be happy for her friend. Maddie is literally so sweet. There’s so many scenes of her encouraging, hugging her friends. Maddie is a supportive friend and sister, I remember her encouraging her sister in s1 saying how her sister was going to take those apples down. Maddie is supportive and a kind friend and sister, not bratty and selfish like this episode made her out to be
