Queen Máxima's day in the world of movies

After a few postponements - something with a pandemic - Queen Máxima came to Amsterdam, where she visits the 75th anniversary of film museum Eye. Before the festive program in the museum building, she first paid a working visit to the collection center, a few hundred meters further. She was told about the historical collection. Máxima was particularly interested in how restoration is carried out: is there disagreement about this worldwide? She had once read in an article that people sometimes think that restoration could have done too heavily, with more color than may have been used originally. She also had to think of the Greek place Knossos, where there is also a lot of discussion about the way in which the restoration has been done.
She was told that Eye may be restored a bit more conservatively. 'A very Dutch approach,' thought the queen, which reminded her of how the Dutch masters are also preserved.
After the working visit, Máxima's visit to Amsterdam was continued a little further away in the film museum. An explanation about the Eye Film Player, the streaming service, turned out to be superfluous: Máxima already recognized images that she had seen at home. In the museum she also visited the exhibition 'Vive le cinéma!' and launched 'Eye on screens', on which images from the vast archive can be seen throughout the country for the next two years.
