Hi Elaine, thank you for being the first person to offer a comprehensive look at affinity publisher for the ipad. I’m working on a 385 word children’s picture book. I normally work in adobe indesign using the story editor, but since my neck and adobe don’t seem to agree on the importance of a publishing app for the ipad, I’m thrilled that affinity does. So, I’d like set up a 3-4 line text box on the master pages and have affinity flow the limited text into these boxes. It seemed to work for the first page but i had to rearrange layers since my illustrations are full bleed and i couldn’t seem to get it to work on subsequent pages. Since writing this original post, I was able to accomplish what I was asking about! Yay my brain still works! However once the text frames were propagated, publisher added additional pages in which it placed the images I’d already added. Now I have to go back and move them around, placing the master elements above the images so the text is visible. Is there a way to ask publisher to add additional layers below the master elements? Also… if I format all the text frames using the same master but on one page I need to change it manually, is there an override?

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one with problems on iPad and Publisher. When I use the Apple Pencil, the app crashes. Only using my finger or dumb stylus now!

I just bought the 3 AD softwares ( v2 for ipad ) so I will seriously need lessons.

Hi Elaine! Quick feedback from my side: uploaded 375 fonts to a folder in iCloud and transferred over 50 fonts to Affinity Publisher with no issues. But I do have a strange issue nonetheless: Postscript fonts are not shown in that folder 😳 a question mark and 0K like some Bodoni and Venus extended and quite a few more. On my Mac they work perfectly well. All other fonts have either .otf or .ttf Could I just add the suffix to make it work? 🤔 thank you 🙏🏻

Sorry i missed it live. Gym called 😂 just to add my experience of activating the universal licence. My Apple ID email and Affinity account email don’t match and I had zero problems. I just downloaded the apps on each respective device from the app store, logged in as prompted when launching the apps and everything worked beautifully. The only thing I can think to add is that I haven’t updated my MacBook to Ventura yet, although the iPad has been updated to 16, so not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. I also bought the license directly from Serif, but downloaded the apps from the app store. I didn’t even think there was an option to buy the universal license on the app store 😂 I bet Apple are the problem.
