Now that I think about it this variant reminds me of the hollow knight. The ultimate knight tasked with the duty of protection, but ultimately falling to outside sources of corruption doomed to become a monster until they meet your character a worthy challenger capable of freeing them of their accursed state actively resisting the corruption as you do battle. Awesome stuff imo
Yeah, Primordial Malzeno becomes full-on immune to all endemic life in his last phase. Marionettes, Puppet Spiders, Flash Bombs, Paratoads, Sleeptoads, Thunderbeetles, Ironsilk, they do literally nothing to him in his final phase.
At least he doesn't have Risen Crimson Glow's uppercut cancel tech; just imagine if Primordial Malzeno fought the same otherwise, but could randomly cancel every single one of his moves or combos into a lunging uppercut. I still haven't fought Risen Shagaru, so I can't _wait_ for the fresh hell I'm about to experience on that front.
I wonder how many people were able to notice that his moves and mannerisms mimic the Lance. I kinda have mixed feelings about this fight. When they announced a Malzeno Variant, I was hoping exactly for a Malzeno untouched by the Qurio so that we could see what he was like before his symbiosis. But.. I wasn't expecting to have feels about it in the end when he was actually resisting the Qurio and the mission turned from protecting the kingdom to protecting the monster. Was a really good fight and a really good ending to a centuries old tale. I enjoyed it. But I'm not sure if I can bring myself to hunt him again lol just because I don't wanna cause him more problems after saving him.
@Loretta Hale I feel like it's both really, they fairy tale before the quest refers to his tail as a "silver spear" while his wings feel like the sword and shield
That last phase is absolutely nuts. It shows just how powerful Malzeno could be with the Qurio - the only reason base Malzeno wasn't this insane was because the little flying Giggis (yes, I believe the Qurio are offshoots of Khezu and Gigginox) had spent years gradually sucking it dry. This one still had all of its original might, which the Qurio enhanced even further. I like to think that the allegorical link between Primordial, Gaismagorm and the Qurio is very close to the natural one - Gaismagorm "curses" Malzeno with the Qurio, dragging it into the abyss of darkness and turning it into a demon.
I wasn't expecting to see her a day early, but here I am going in solo. all goes well in the hunt, I carted 2 times but still succeeded on my first hunt (thank god for evade extender). Then I saw her LBG and had to have it, cue a hunting mission of killing her 11 fucking times before she gave me a damn bloodstone (but when she did I got two of them, one from a shiny and from carving tail). It was worth it. If I ever want to make a another weapon I'll have a spare bloodborne for it. She's a very pretty fight and sweet Jesus does she become hella agresive when close to death. During the final phase her colour scheme is fucking beautiful! And those wings! Magnificent!
This was absolutely thr best fight in this game. It was so epic man. I wish it wasnt a glass cannon i want its final stage to last longer cause thats when shit gets real
The Primordial CB is pretty damn good, health steal + good sharpness + slots (including lvl3 rampage natural), and only 4 less element dmg behind the Dragon tree CB
There are more moves that encourage rolling in than I expected. At times it really relies on pressure from chasing rolls so being right up next to it can get you out of a lot of situations (except the explosive ones). The wing tackle tail stab combo is a little frustrating cause it seems like it only gives you exactly enough time to wirefall away if you mash after getting knocked down 😞
Apparently In primordials last phase he just doesn’t give shit about anything you throw at him he’s immune para sleep flash bombs all or the endemic life like blast toads and marionette spiders he just ignores everything
I LOVED his fight ngl i expected him to be black dragon level but he wasnt he is somewhere between risen shaggy and black dragon but they made it up with the WOW levels he had so many cool moves my fav fight in rise easily just wish if it was more brutal (it already is but i wanted to take weeks to be able to win not 3 tries)
@@Amatsu_storm_approach i would say slightly stronger based on his turf war with velkhana as alatreos elements are slightly weaker than other elder dragons like his fire is weaker than teostras and his ice is weaker than velkhanas albeit not much its just op the fact he can use all of them
I imagine console players having a hard time because they will basically not have separate Title Updates, they all gonna be on one blow, which us sad ngl, they not gonna have the grind to get prepared for P. Malzeno
Ima be honest, I thought this was the easiest out of the recent title update monsters, probably because of fiorayne, but I only carted once and had a hard time only when playing with others
That one is BANANAS! if soloing make sure you're on point with its patterns, and if you're doing it with others, make sure you got a good group with you, I wouldn't chance that one with a join request, no telling who you'd get.
Its funny how this guy is moderately difficult solo, or borderline impossible with one Charge Blade user on your team. No offense ofc, speaking from personal experience here. Every CB player I ever had either carted a minimum of 1 time or solo carted the whole hunt.
I cart because i beat darksouls and beat him with no carts during my first try thus i am overconfident. You cart because you are still learning the art of rolly polly. We are not the same.
This fight is a peak example of gameplay not being on par with the rising difficulties of the enemies to fight fair and square. They really made a nioh like enemy in a game that has a much slower gameplay. Shit like this is always done to please the tryhards while we normal people suffer. Fatalis was a much fairer challenge compared to this shit. Catering to the tryhards was one of the biggest mistakes in gaming
Lmao bruh, Palzeno is the perfect catch up to the player in a game where the player styles over the monsters, it's finally on par with what the player can do
Prime Malzeno is just another "hurdle" monster to get over and adjust to, like so many others before. The only reason he's this difficult is because he's introduced at a point in the game where the player has usually really found their groove, and if you've gotten complacent with your style and build as a result of that, Malzeno will punish you for it. Severely. He embodies a lesson you failed to learn.
Sunbreak was such a journey man. See you all in 6th gen!
It was a fun ride, can't wait for the remaining event quests and gen 6
yeah a journey of hoping for a few more good content just to be let down
"Shield Bash" you with its wings, and procced "Spear thrust" you with its Tail.
Truly embodiment of a "Paladin" before fallen into Dankness.
“It’s just a malzeno lol”
Famous last words
Didn't expecting that Malzeno originally a good boi all along(?)
Just this one technically
I read the lore i knew this.
same as Nergi at the end of iceborne
@@byakugan641Nergie isn't technically a good guy, just doing his job and trying to keep balance.

Malzeno has better charcter development than most movies and TV shows nowadays

I swear Primorbius has more range on its wings than freaking Crimson Glow Valstrax

didn't they mentioned something about it being like a lance user in the dialogues?
I thought more sword and shield like
@Loretta Hale I feel like it's both really, they fairy tale before the quest refers to his tail as a "silver spear" while his wings feel like the sword and shield
Maybe thats why somehow i feel more comfortable fighting it with GL instead of IG. Theres some language similarity btw my weapon and the monster
@@Ale-Y You might be referring to when they read the rest of the story and how the demonlord's "spear" will purify the land or however they said it.
Which is why I main Lance against him. We just shield bash each other
that's so cool XD
guard up is required for half of his Moveset. Nothing can just be blocked by embolden
the only thing lance can't block is it laser, even the nova can be blocked

fully expected this guy to call me machine and for the death of god's will to start playing halfway through the hunt
He don’t stop coming, and he don’t stop coming
Add the fact that Prim Malzeno is doing SNS and Lance better than most hunters do
And this is the EASIER version of Primordial Malzeno. The Arena fight is much worse xD

The hazard quest in Mr6 makes the final mode happen when you get him down to half health instead of a quarter

A dragon that doesn't breathe fire and uses its wings as weapons.
🤣🤣🤣 Editing on point! 👌 Super funny 1st half and very awesome 2nd half!! Great job, Koji chan!!
Thank you!!
Dual blades with evade window and embolden, you can dance around anything he throws at you😂
