I'll never understand the SUV obsession, what the hell is the average family hauling on a daily basis that you need a massive trunk for. People fit families in small Japanese sedans all through the 90's, these rolling condos are just ridiculous and way too expensive. Nothing beats the agility of a small lightweight sedan or coupe, not to mention better fuel economy, cheaper cost to own and ability to park easily. I cannot stand for the life of me these massive SUV's and trucks that park next to me at the grocery store and leave no room for error when opening doors.
At this point, they’re making more desirable products than their Japanese counterparts. Now with a performance version to compete against the Germans. Acura, lnfiniti and Lexus should be worried.
@@brq44 that’s there strongest selling point right now. All 3 Japanese brands enjoyed success in the 90s and 2000s but now it’s time for a transformation. Hopefully Infiniti will get their mojo back with the launch of the new QX80. It’s also good to see the return of the Type S branding from Acura. They all have some work to do.
Hey Genesis! Please, please, please!!!! Bring the Magma series models to the United States. You're one of the few automakers that still offer saloons, and they are greatly needed. I do not have a family, so humongous cargo space is not a necessity for me. I would love to own a luxurious, fun, and high-performance saloon versus any SUV!
I think it's due to this program being in the works when the initially introduced this generation G80. I remember seeing spy shots of this back then but then they decided to focus on EVs. I'm guessing the production version will be based on the 25 and up model year G80.

The next generation of the 911 is scheduled for this summer 😅 The all-new M8 Competition will be presented next year (V8).
The one shot takes, and fluid narration with quality information bits dropped in is incredible. Especially with all the outside noise/people. I know you have been doing this for a while, but it’s still impressive. The car looks incredible, I like how those lights showed up in the refresh, and never went away.

The Magma Special is the culmination of Hyundai being the underdog for decades. The Magma Series is nothing short of stellar. It's a response from South Korea to the world saying, "You've doubted us, now we're standing on business." I can see them bringing it to the US by 2026.
It’s disappointing that the Koreans doesn’t have a true performance line rather than the N (but they only make FWD cars {4 cylinders } and electric cars). Kia’s GT division is also disappointing after they discontinued the stinger which was an amazing car and now they only got some bunch of 4 banger FWD cars and EV6 GT. Genesis should make this Magma division as solid run rather than limited run.
I would LOVE to see the Magma treatment to the G70 for a true M3 competitor under 90K ... Genesis, PLEASE BRING THESE TO THE USA!!! Not all of us want an SUV or electric vehicle

Just get them powetrains close to the competition. 80 to 90% and costs at 75% and the they will sell like hotcakes.! Very excited, loved my g70 and I have a huge soft spot for this group.
They are coming in swinging, this thing is beautiful. If this was coming to the US I would love to place an order. It would be really nice to see it start around $55-63k, given it likely won’t compete much in the power segment. However with a few bolt-ons,a tune and E85 conv, it will probably safely make 450-500whp.
These magna versions need to have a minimum of 450 hp if they do, they could take the market for four-door sedan performance vehicles. Especially since the Dodge charger is out of the picture.
EPA is ruining the enthusiasm in us for cars. I believe even for another 50 years ICE vehicles would be perfectly fine. Manufacturers hungry for sales just wants EVs and SUVs. But driving a gas powered car with enthusiasm is something else, that era will be truly missed.😢
I am in no way knocking it. I know they came a long way But in a recent enterprise rental . I am familiar with enterprise and them being the overflow for dealers backup for rentals when it comes to dealer shortages . I asked what manufacturer do you get the most. Her answer was Genesis , and so many of the same people over and over 🤷♂️
I did get a new Genesis G70 from Avis after letting them know that a charger they attempted to rent me was severely wrecked and freshly painter and I wasn't about to be the one accused once I returned it. So a new G70 with 4 miles was the courtesy extended.
is this "performance" sub-brand actually entails changes to important mechanical bits like transmission and powertrain or is this just some warm over body kits? Because lowering the car, having wider tires and having more agresive body kits doesn't seem like a lot and certainly won't compete against AMG, M, or even Lexus F
Hyundai has what you're talking about, which is their N line. I don't think this Magma brand is as extensive as N is. Otherwise, it would probably have been a global release. Just speculating here so I don't actually have any answers.
If they bring this to the US, I'll most certainly be trading my 23 G80 3.5T to this especially if it has a more powerful version of the eSC! I'm excited that the performance sub-brand is back on the table!
I’m a huge sedan guy I drive a 2020 Hyundai sonata limited was going to choose the n line but preferred the limited as the better daily imo with the more tech and wasn’t a huge fan of the tire spin when I test drove the n line and will be needing an upgrade in the near future. If they brought this to the US I would get it 1000%. Come on genesis bring this to the US please
