The writer of this song is Jeanne Seely who at the time of writing this song, was just starting out in the music industry. She recorded the song "Don't Hurt Me" that was a country hit. She has been singing since the mid-1960s and still going strong and her most recent album includes this song.

Seal is a stellar singer. I've never heard him give a bad performance. But I had this down as a female song, but he nails it. Kissed By a Rose is my favourite Seal song, but this is my new second favourite.
