I agree, thank you! I can tell everyone that has this "Convenience Center" that you WILL be replacing the City Water Inlet as well as the Black Water Flush Inlet because over time, the downward pressure from weight of hose (even with 45 degree elbows and flex connectors) will break the plastic check valve assembly. I replaced then with brass versions with an NPT - 1/2 PEX adapter. Furthermore I put a 1/4" thick board behind the wall that the fill inlets pass through so that the wall is more rigid, preventing flexing and thus extending the life of the connections.
thank you for the visual,.....very well made and appreciated!! i will look for more videos, came here looking for how to activate my hot water heater. hope i didn't destroy the element, as i turned it on in my control box, but did not have the black valve turned on in the convenience center. now i will wait and see if i get hot water!
Sorry I'm new at this. I have the exact same water valves. But I'm trying to bypass the water flow so I can use the water pump to pump antifreeze. I have no idea where to hook up the antifreeze and use the pump to pump it through the hoses inside.help.
You saved my sanity. I was trying to correlate the Esco Valves to the V1, 2 and 3 valves in the Owners manual. After much head scratching and changing my labels from one valve to another I found your youTube explanation a lifesaver; I was NOT going to crawl into the "basement" and stare grimly at the back of those valves to try to figure out what was going on. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Good day; I know this is one of your older videos; and thank you! Do you happen to know what the replacement part number would be for the 3way valves?? I read the whole water system section on the owners forum- either no one has replaced them- it got them done at the dealership?.
I have a question about the inside control panel on this same rv. Do I put the water heater switch on Gas and Electric or do I choose only 1? Thanks for the help with this video. I had my red valve in the wrong position.
This video help allot. I forgot to winterize (life happens) and we had a pretty cold winter in the south. On a 65 degree day today in mid-February, I checked all the waterline and water was leaking from the back of the convenience center. I took pictures of all the hoses and appliances, removed the appliance "tree" and found that I was in luck. Although the middle shut off valve was leaking, the inside of the valve is rubber and can be reset by removing it and replacing it after lining it up. I will reinstall the appliance tree in the morning.
Also, "Surprise is half the battle - many things are half the battle". I wonder if Elliot Ness would have used that quote nowadays if he owned an RV. :) I was going to go with a NBC "The more you know" with that rainbow joke instead, but figured the younger audience wouldn't get that. Heck, they probably don't even get my "Untouchables" rib. Maybe I brought a knife to a gun fight.
@joerocksr.9654 I like your quote. I just felt compelled to make an Untouchables movie joke. RVing is always a battle... once you think you've seen it all and know half of what you're up against, something new comes up and half becomes 25%. Like changing a flat tire on the side of the freeway with no jack, etc.
Thanks for this video. Had the middle handle break off on 7/3 and my local RV Centers didn't have the part or closed early. After watching this video it gave me a better understanding of how the system worked and I was able to take the left side which was for draining and put it in the middle for a temp fix. Again thank you for the info and I am a subscriber to this channel now. We are living in it full time while a complete remodel on our home.
Woody Woodard Glad it provided you with help and understanding. I find myself coming back to this video from time to time myself, just to refresh my memory. Hope all goes well with the remodeling of the house too! Cheers!
Thanks for taking the time to put this together. We're full-time RVers in our Open Range for the past few months and haven't stretched it's legs yet. This video helped a lot in comprehending the system.
I have a weeping pressure leak which I'm guessing could be from the convenience valving area. I have just un winterized my camper . All the faucets have been checked for issues. Could one of them be not sealing and cause my new replaced water pump to cycle every 20 seconds?
jean-pierre villemur I may have this same issue. I disassembled all three valves and one appears to have a leak in the rubber gasket inside the plastic housing. How in the world that happens, I do not know. Now I am try to find a replacement valve. 🙁
Thanks for your comment. No, my RV does not have 2 black water tanks. Since I installed a composting toilet my black tank is never used. A composting toilet saves a lot of water. I do use the black tank as an extension of the gray tank, but that is seldom required.
I have a 2006 Forest River Charleston RV, after a past cold spell found my convenience center toilet shut-off valve leaking, when I selected it from open to off it leaked more, guess the "O" ring must have failed, does anyone know of any videos on how to remove the convenience center panels & replace the "O" ring ?
Thanks for your comment. I got the connector at Lowes in the section with all the plumbing parts. I did have to use quite a bit of plumbers tape to get it to seal. I found that it was better to use a 1/2 inch tube with a tube-hose adapter, which you can also get at Lowes or Home Depot. I also started to use quick connectors to speed things up.
Hey great video. We just got an OR Light 5th wheel and when I read the manual it didn't explain it as well as you do. I really like the graphics and the content. I will be exploring your other videos for answers to some of my questions. Can you tell me how to drain the fresh water holding tank? I'm not sure I understand just how to do that. Or maybe you already have a video on that? Thanks, Pat
Welcome to the channel! I am glad that people continue to find these videos helpful. I do have a video on a water catchment system that I built that hooks up to the fresh water drain. That video should give you a good idea on how the fresh water tank is drained. Of course in the catchment system scenario I use the drain to actually fill tank. :) Here is a link to the video with a perfect view of the fresh water drain valve: th-cam.com/video/cAjrX1u7IBo/w-d-xo.htmlm4s
i disconnected my lines in the water panel to fix a leak , forgot to mark my lines. Does anyone know on a jayco seneca the water line system for reconnecting the lines of a three valve system.

I wish you would have shown valves orientation when hooked up to rv city water?

I'm glad you found it helpful. Sometimes the manual just isn't enough and in this case the manual is devoid of explanation.
Thank You VERY MUCH!
You're welcome! :) Glad to see this video continues to help people.

Where did you get the hose connector on the siphon valve?

how did you animate this video
I used Adobe After Effects
Superior script and visual presentation. Dealerships should make it available from the start.
