You might want to drive a couple of metal pipes in the ground behind the feeder and attach them to back of the feeder so the pigs don’t push it over, waste the food and make one hell of a mess‼️ Happy Pigs make good bacon👍 Vinny 🇺🇸

I have made a feeder and mounted it and they ripped it down and destroyed a 2x4 feeder. But my pigs are over 600 pounds.

Dude, that is the best DIY video I've ever seen. Using whatever material and tools you already have to create something functional is genius. Thanks.

Looks like a good feeder. If it works for you and your pigs that's all that matters.

That looks really nice Dutch! Nice and heavy duty. Especially like the use of scrap wood. I think few adjustments like putting it on a pallet and a coat of paint will make it last for years!

Also my pigs made a mess put of the feed and pulled it all out of the feeder onto the ground

Hey Dutch, I got an automatic pig feeder - my son Quenton and my daughter Regina. LOL I just tell them, "Go feed the pigs!" and off they go and it didn't cost me a dime. LOL :-)

Rather than sitting it on a pallet, how about a couple treated 4X4 runners to hold it up off the ground?

Dig those hinges. Simple, basic, and work. -- Lots of nails sticking up in your scrap wood pile. If you're not going to take the time to pull those you ought to at least flip those boards over so the nails are facing down.

The only improvement you could make is adding a chain or rope to hold up that top lid from falling all the way open other wise great build

Cool vid cut the old metal feeder up find the side metal is still party good .find a frend with a plasma cutter and cut the other one out and make sheets out of the good metal and the next one you build use the sheets for doors and bottom and lid for the next feeder you build ..you can just rap the bottom with the old feeder metal and bend it with a hammer and screw it on there then it will be years before it would rot .. Just some ideas if you make another one ...also another idea for the door get an acodian hinge (long hindge) from hardware store for door on the next one you build out would make the door lot more sturdy till the hinge rusted out ...looks like that one will last a long time tho awesome build .. What brand of drill driver is that I'm in market for one and liked how that drill preformed ???

Looks good. You might have some paint left over from the new house that you could slap on it to protect the wood from premature weathering. Make it last a few more years anyway.
