I so smoke heartedly agree with you. This right here is indicative of their sense of entitlement.
Remember the 10 million dollar donation from Goldman Sachs to BW. Jennifer Lopez did the same thing.
She was present at a women’s conference for women of color. Groups present were, Black women, Latinas, Native American, and Asian America/Pacific Islander women. There were speeches and presentations. Each group had their TURN, their TIME. When it was the Black Women’s time, Goldman Sachs took that opportunity to present their donation of over $10 million dollars to foundations and organizations dedicated to empower black women. And Lopez basically hijacked the moment and interjected questioning and making demands of inclusion for Latinas. She may not have meant it the way it came across, but her statements seemed to imply that Latinas were more deserving of the donation.
No one interjected / disrupted any other group’s time. But from obvious jealousy or some crap, she felt she had to interject about this gift from Goldman Sachs to the black women collective practically bashing them for giving the money to black women and not including Latinas.
Even if she wanted to confront them about it, WAIT until the end and present her case. She totally monopolized the time and took that moment from black women.
Goldman Sachs is a multi billion dollar mega corporation who can give their money to whoever they want to. And if they had any plans in the future to donate money to the Latina women collective, she may have killed it by hijacking their presentation and bashing them in an attempt to call them out by trying to tell them what to do with their money.
At the end of the day, another multibillion dollar corporation ended up matching Goldman Sachs’ donation to the black women collective. I don’t know, but who knows that last minute donation match may have probably been for the Latina collective. But after her interference, the Ford Foundation decided to give it to black women.

That stuff is not organic. There weren't any grassroots involved. Their grassroots didn't sit at the table with our grassroots, come to some sort of solidarity, and then spread that info to each respective group. That coalition concept came from the top down via politicians and the mainstream media to make it seem as if we have the same struggles but in actuality it's for the politicians to really do more for the other groups while pretending to care about us.

OMG!

This is very sad. How can anyone demand inclusion, if they erase people from history? Of course this is about rap culture in the 20th and 21st century. And certainly rap historians have postulated why West Coast rap is what it is.
But knowledge of history should count for something, although this might not speak to the concerns of this particular video. Why might the history of Juneteenth be important to know? Many of the founders of Los Angeles (El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río Porciúncula) were Afro-Mexicans. Many of the first expeditionary forces from Mexico and settlers of Alta California were Afro-Mexican because they were at the bottom of society and found opportunity as soldiers and settlers. It is very sad that so few people know their history, especially the fact that an Afro-Mexican President decreed the end of slavery in all of Mexico, which in turn, caused Texas to secede from Mexico and later, from the United States, and because no one told Black people in Texas that they were free until long after the Civil War ended. But it's almost as if Afro-Mexicans have never existed. Oh well.
