Isnt the first case the same "all numbers lead to 4" chart but + a constant. If you put the graph onto a wheel you just rotate by the constant given by the unchanging words.
My favorite example of this is: "This pangram contains four As, one B, two Cs, one D, thirty Es, six Fs, five Gs, seven Hs, eleven Is, one J, one K, two Ls, two Ms, eighteen Ns, fifteen Os, two Ps, one Q, five Rs, twenty-seven Ss, eighteen Ts, two Us, seven Vs, eight Ws, two Xs, three Ys, & one Z."
This very comment, that is paraphrased in such a way to avoid being in limbo and/or running out of luck, contains exactly one hundred and twenty-seven letters.
So if we start out with 3 3 4 8 7, there's something interesting we can do with that, which is notice that we can mutate certain graph values without affecting things too much. If you change the number of 4 letter words to 5, it doesn't affect much, as long as you're putting that increase on the number of 4 letter words. That is to say, if you change the number of 4 letter words from 4 to 5, you get 5 four letter words *from that increase*. So "spending" one word on changing the number of 4 letter words from 4 to 5 works. It's "free" way to spend a word, as long as it's the only 4 letter word we add. We can also look at the fact that we *can't* change the number of 2 letter words, meaning we know we're adding at least one 5 letter word. So that 8 is going to at least a 9, so let's increase it by 1 for the number of 3 letter words, which is currently 3 as well, that goes to 10, which increases the number of 3 letter words, but we just fixed the number of those, so that doesn't work. Let's get it to 11, okay, that's an increase of 1 to the number of six letter numbers, which goes from 7 to 8, and that's actually the last number we were looking for! Five letter words must increase from "eight" to "eleven" with the number of 6 letter words increasing to "eight", spending 4 words. So increasing four letter words to "five" spends 1 word, five letter words to "eleven" and six letter words to "eight" spends the other 4. That's all 5 words spent, and because we know that five letter words must increase to "eleven" for stability with two and three letter words fixed at "three", four letter words are the only place we can spend the last word. That's how you can both derive 3 3 5 11 8 as a solution, and prove it's the only possible solution, both without an exhaustive search.
This comment contains ninety-two letters in the first sentence, and forty-two letters in the second sentence. That's one hundred thirty-four letters altogether!
Only the fool would take trouble to verify that his sentence was composed of ten a's, three b's, four c's, four d's, forty-six e's, sixteen f's, four g's, thirteen h's, fifteen i's, two k's, nine l's, four m's, twenty-five n's, twenty-four o's, five p's, sixteen r's, forty-one s's, thirty-seven t's, ten u's, eight v's, eight w's, four x's, eleven y's, twenty-seven commas, twenty-three apostrophes, seven hyphens and, last but not least, a single !

This sentence has one less than fifty-five characters.
