Ganesh chaturthi is not only A single reason for Pollution. the vehicle you are riding also pulled environment.it doesn't mean you will not ride vehicle.And it is not your problem actually it has become trend to unnecessary point out problems in hindu festivals.

I like Ganesh festival it's my favorite but please stop making Idols of pop and those Iron rods will that dissolve in water than why you are using those and spoiling our environment
If we are not able to use environmental friendly material then it is better to make a smaller clay idol about 6ft or so and use the money that is spent on largest Ganesh to sponsor education of poor deserving kids. Just give it a thought whether the Lord Ganesh would be happy with a large idol of him or poor getting education and better life.....
