I love seeing life in Korean countryside! This kind of vlogs are always so cozy and the nature is amazing! And I feel like most of the grandparents' houses looks very similar no matter in which country they live ( I mean the atmosphere inside the house). Yeah, I noticed during the holidays there are just so many people and so much work to do that it’s pretty much impossible to get to spend quality, leisurely time with him. We prefer these visits by far ☺️

I bet Grandpa really enjoys the family taking turns staying with him. I wish all countries had the same respect for elders. I'm half Native American & we are taught to learn/respect our elders as well. My grandparents taught me so much!! I'm so glad, I got to spend so much time with them. I miss them everyday. I live in a relatively rural area with my parents and think I'd have a problem living in a suburban/urban area because I'm used to all the natural sounds of insects, songbirds, and tree frogs that help me relax. I'd have to be a farmer if I were lucky enough to live in South Korea. Beautiful footage of the countryside- wow, what a gorgeous garbage free, unpolluted river (very rare here in the U.S.). Love your vlog!
I've been to South Korea, and the people are beautiful as is the landscape. I had such an awesome time there teaching English to eleven year old children at a Summer camp outside Seoul. I also like South Korean cuisine because one can be a vegetarian easily. I love Korean Art- textiles and ceramics! Japan and Vietnam are also intriguing places.@@jamesfranko1568

저도 규호, 세라님이랑 나이가 비슷하고 저희 할머니도 80대 후반 고령이세요. 그래선지 할아버지 찾아 뵙는 영상은 더 애틋한 느낌으로 시청하는거 같아요. 제가 코로나에 많이 예민한지라 찾아 뵙기 일주일 전부터 pcr 검사는 물론 사람도 안 만나고 소독도 철저히 하는 편이라 너무 번거로운데 막상 찾아뵈면 이렇게 살아 계시는게 어딘가 싶고 와 줘서 고맙다고 말씀하시면 이깟게 뭐라고 반성하게 돼요,,,, 어른들은

But I think it's better to visit them on ordinary days than that.
Your grandfather's home is a beautiful place! The vegetables are magnificent. And this comment 11:19 "actually, every week a relative comes to stay with grandpa like this, for a day or two" was so heartwarming :)

Visiting and staying with Grandpa made me feel nostalgic and miss my grandparents. They lived in the country too and driving to their house looked similar to the countryside roads. They're not around anymore, but I wish I saw them more often. Wishing Grandpa much health and happiness ❤️❤️

This reminds me of visits to my grandfather. It's so interesting how many grandfathers are alike -- sitting on the edge of family gatherings, but filled with stories when you get 1:1 time. Always bittersweet to leave.
Yup, always really prefer those much smaller visits for that reason.

What a wonderful video! Kyuho's grandfather is amazing. He has such a kind energy. I hope he stays healthy and lives a very long time so you can visit him many more times. Where he lives looks so beautiful (although I can't imagine living in such a rural area... I'm a suburbs kind of gal... need my conveniences). That river was gorgeous and so peaceful. And Vessi's are great for walking in water. I love mine. I'm saving up for another pair. I want something that really looks like sneakers... maybe something like yours, Sarah. Which style were those?
I love how almost every place you two go the cats find you. Good thing you thought to pack cat food LOL. (I'm also very much partial to black cats so I'm thrilled to see that all black one looking so well taken care of.)
He’s getting up there in age, but he’s still kickin’, that’s for sure! We love visiting this area for a couple of days to enjoy the nature and the quiet. But yeah, it is superrr rural-we saw more fish than we did people 😅 Vessis are absolutely perfect for this sort of trip 👟 Mine are the ‘Everyday Move’ sneakers-love them!

Our elders have so much to share and teach us. When I ask my elders about the past they really open up and talk about what the world was like when they were younger. I've learned so much.
I know Sarah has mentioned being a bit shy about her speaking Korean being captured on film, but it’s so pleasant to hear from time to time. This looked like a nice little getaway to visit family!
Aw. Your grandpa seems so chill. The countryside where he lives is beautiful. It seems like a place where you can get good sleep and really relax and rest. His produce looked so amazing. That lettuce looked crisp, bright, and full of flavor. It’s sweet that you guys could visit him and have him all to yourselves. 😊
He’s definitely a very chill guy who’s not so talkative 😂 But we find that really endearing.
That lettuce was easily the BEST lettuce I’ve ever eaten in my entire life! Especially with that grilled beef 🥬

This just reminded me of my grandma’s house. She’s no longer living but I do remember visiting small store to buy snacks whenever my family visited her house, just like Kyuho mentioned. :) good memories.

Beautiful gesture how you take care of the elders over there and how Sarah is so attentive to him. She adapted so well to such a different type of a culture. I wonder-what kind of meat do you do on that electrical grill? I think that's such a good ideea for a fresh and simple meal-to have a fast barbecue . My husband is Korean (him and his mom moved to Germany and then the US which is where we met) and we’ve talked a lot about the three of us visiting SK (especially the countryside). I think it would be cool if we could make it a tradition for our family to visit when we can, especially once we have kids so they can make plenty of memories and see where their dad is from/visit his side of the family:)
강원도 is at the top of my list aside from 서울 ofc and 강남구 since that’s where my husband grew up.

Thank you so much for the video. I loved the Korean country side. The statistics about older people living in country side is resonating with other countries too 😢. I wish that era of spending days in villages restores back and I definitely want to live and settle in county side one day 🤞.
It’s a lovely place to visit 🌿 But yes, you can definitely notice the dwindling population in the countryside here, as younger people head for Seoul or other large cities (that’s where the jobs are). Grandpa said this area used to be bustling with families and kids a few decades ago.
@@2hearts1seoul Aww getting a comment from you has made my week starting exciting ❤. It is true that the jobs are mostly available in the cities but the pandemic has changed the dynamics and remote work is possible now so I wish this could sprout out people to start finding their roots back 😊
Remote work didn’t really become that common in Korea compared to western countries, sadly 🥲 Still a more traditional ‘in the office’ setting is the overwhelming majority in Korea.

저도 어렸을때는 쌍곡 억수 화양리 송계 만수 이쪽 계곡들이 집에서 가까워서 자주 갔었던 기억이 나네요
할아버지께서 두분 부부의 방문을 크게 내색하지는 않으셔도 속으로는 굉장히 반가워 하신것 같습니다

Everything around there looks so idyllic and lovely. Seems like a nice place to live. So sad that people are all moving to the cities. Does your grandpa farm all these vegetables himself? On his own? That's amazing.
The nature there is gorgeous 🌱 It’s very remote though, which is why younger people tend to move to the cities. Kyuho’s dad and his siblings farm the veggies! 🥬🌽
