Ferry between Hirtshals and Tórshavn (Denmark Mainland - Faroe Islands). Between March and December Hirtshals - Tórshavn - Seyðisfjørður (Iceland).
NORRÖNA is a passenger and cargo ferry operated by the Faroe Islands-based ferry company Smyril Line. The ferry was built in 2003 and underwent a significant renovation in 2015, bringing it up to modern standards and making it one of the most comfortable and well-equipped ferries operating in the North Atlantic.
NORRÖNA is 165 meters long and 30 meters wide and has the capacity to carry up to 1,482 passengers and 630 cars or a combination of cars and cargo. The ship is equipped with a range of amenities, including restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as a playroom for children. There are also several accommodation options available, including standard cabins, luxury suites, and economy-class sleeping areas.
One of the unique features of NORRÖNA is its route, which connects the Faroe Islands with Denmark, and Iceland. The ferry operates on a triangular route that takes passengers and cargo from the Faroe Islands, with stops in several ports along the way. The route offers a unique way to explore the North Atlantic and visit some of the most stunning and remote destinations in the region.
In addition to its passenger services, NORRÖNA also offers a vital link for cargo transportation between the Faroe Islands and the mainland, carrying goods such as fresh fish, agricultural products, and industrial supplies.
Overall, NORRÖNA is an important and well-loved part of the Faroese community, connecting the islands to the wider world and providing a comfortable and convenient way for passengers and cargo to travel across the North Atlantic.

Thanks for the nice video. I would not describe Norröna's route as triangular though. It currently runs Hirtshals to Torshavn and on most trips further on to Seydisfjödur. It never skips the stop in Torshavn though so the route is quite linear in that sense. I travelled on the route (to Torshavn and back) this summer. It was a very enjoyable journey that teaches you a bit about the vast North Atlantic.

I keep meaning to do this route. Takes a bit of planning when you only want to do a one--way route. Getting from Seydisfjordur to Reykjavik isn't particularly straight forward.

Understandable, I have thought about it too. Unfortunately there is no car rental in Seyðisfjörður, at least I haven't found one. The nearest one is apparently in Egilsstaðir, 27 km away. Maybe a good chance to hike Iceland a bit.

@@JustFerries there is an airport within an hour away I believe accessable via bus. I can't find my notes on it, I'll dig them out some time!

Exactly, it is Egilsstaðir airport (with car rental). That would be the solution, either by bus, taxi (???) or on foot.

@@JustFerries Hi Carsten, best way to explore Iceland was indeed the package tour by Smyril Line itself, we went to Iceland with our own car, hiring a car is very expensive, hotel booking also. Smyril Line's offer is very attractive.
