what I usually do to speed up stirring the chemical, I mix the chlorine + water in a bucket, set the filter to recirculate and pour the choline mixture into the skimmer hole, and I do the same thing with the pool floc
the chemical will flow evenly into each side of the swimming pool

Love your channel but it’s put me off wanting a pool. I always thought it was be so cool to have one but the amount of maintenance they need is insane. Seems like they turn green if you leave it for a few days. Also, so good to see a pool with a nice surrounding area. I hate when you do a great job but the customer is happy for their surrounding area to look like a swamp.

I dread to think how long this has been left.

    • @cryptk

Pool maintenance isn't too bad. My 15k gallon pool needs a couple of hours a week to keep it looking great. An automatic chlorinator and a decent pool cleaning robot go a long way towards making it a pretty easy experience.
Bear in mind, many of these "disaster pools" you see on this channel have likely been neglected for weeks/months. Even if you just keep chlorine tabs in the chlorinator, you can easily do nothing else for a few weeks. When I go away on vacation, all my buddy does is add chlorine tabs and add some water to top off the pool, and a hose timer means he doesn't need to come back to turn off the hose. Takes him less than 5 minutes.

A lot of people don't understand the fundamentals of how a pool works in terms of the pump room and how to maintain it regards the water chemistry.
The tricky thing is getting a pool back once the water had gone green.
If you keep on top of things you really shouldn't be getting to this stage.

I have a question! My pool is bright blue and not clear at all, cannot see the bottom. There was a ton of debris in the winter time that got in and the pool turned green. We did loads of shock, ph, algicide and scrubbed the side, and got majority of the debris out. All the chemicals are perfect when we brought it into the pool dr; and all they suggested was more shock, more algicide, and more chlorine. It's still not clear. There is an algae overload and we put in about 4 galls of algaecide. What do we do now?
