My phone just drop off my pocket and fall on stairs then continue to fall because there was a hole next to stairs and then touch the floor after 3-4 meters fall. And only the case was a little bit damaged but the phone is perfectly fine !! I’m so impressed ! :)

Given that I never have any scratches or anything badly done to the case, but just for that insurance I’d like a case. Otter box just doesn’t look as fashionable as other case options, and it devalues the experience of having a flagship iPhone. It’s like putting a holder onto airpod pros, or a sticker onto a Lambo. I’m not much of a brand guy or a flex person; I don’t value people based on what they wear, but fashion is important to me as a self-confidence thing, I feel less self-conscious if I wear attire that is fitting, colour matched, with no holes in it. If you work on a business site, a sawmill, scrapyard, mine, I’d understand the need, but for most people this case is good enough.
It’s the first time I see this color on the silicon case for the 12! I have the white one with the gold 12 pro max, I love it! I see now they protect the phone much more than I thought, That’s really good to know!
this case isn’t really meant for drop protection at all, it’s nice for avoiding accidental bumps and scrathes though. and the inside of the case does baby the phone which is great

@@AllenIve3 More protective than previous Apple cases but not as protective as the Mous cases. I really like the grip of the Apple silicone cases this year for the iPhone 13 lineup. The Mous case is more slippery and tends to slide more on surfaces. I don’t drop my phone that much so next year I’ll probably just stick with the Apple silicone cases because of the grip, how easy they are to clean by just rubbing it, and being able to see the color of the phone on the sides (it’s subtle but I really enjoyed that they engineered the cases this way).
Thank you! You convince me NOT to get an Apple Silicone Case if after 2 drops the silicone becomes compressed and doesn't retake its normal volume. That means a 3rd drop on that same corner will probably damage the phone. I need to replace my iPhone 12 Pro clear case (from Apple) that I dropped from the hip last week by accident on concrete (first time I ever dropped it for the mather) and is now cracked.

So I use an ITSkins nano case. It seems like it shouldn't be that tough but the air gel pockets and raised edges work very well. Before that I used Otter box but they just felt too bulky.
Is the phone still working perfectly fine? I know theres no physical damage, but how about the internals being loosen or shaken up by the drop? No malfunction on the technical side of the phone?
silicone has better grip(fact) and feel(opinionated).leather is higher quality because well its leather and its easier to slip into your pocket because its leather and very soft and almost no grip.hope this helps

Update on my last comment, DO NOT buy this years Apple case until they improve it. Took a 2 foot fall face first case completely came off and got scuffed, luckily i had a thick glass shield on which shattered, phone seems to be ok but i immediately bought a speck and will never go back
I had a 11 pro max with a leather case dropped it couple times getting out the car Tougher iPhones , I upgrade to the 12 pro max silicone case . Plus the silicone case has taller lip compare to the 12 pro max leather case

Silicone for sure. Used both on many iPhones and, while the leather may look fancier, I always found myself using the silicone more. The interior of the silicone has suede covered on the borders and its lip is higher, protecting the phone a lot more when face down. Plus, it’s less slippery and doesn’t age as fast as the leather ones.
If I spend 10 more, I could get a very robust case like Mous Limitless but I lose the aesthetic and grippy feeling of the Apple Silicone case. It doesn't even feel like I'm holding a premium phone. I hope I didn't make a mistake choosing this one.

Usually it’s pretty secure, everything’s tightly packed and glued and screwed in, not much room for anything to move and break if that makes sense

Otterbox Aneu will protect the phone better from drops, as it’s made from a polycarbonate material. The Apple silicone case isn’t bad though.
