Fun number! I wonder who choreographed it . . . maybe Ann _and_ Don? Tried to check the broadcast date but neither of them has ANY credits for the Merv Griffin Show at IMDB. And I know she was a guest at least twice. Another example of dancers not getting enough credit, in this case literally. [2021 edit] Thanks to all the respondents for filling yet another gap in my education AND sharing your enthusiasm and links!
My video of this show is dated as 11/1/1980. Here is another segment of the same show. th-cam.com/video/_vi0aSobYa8/w-d-xo.html - Sandy Duncan and Don Correia
This is Patricia Birch’s original choreography for the 1974 Broadway production of OVER HERE! This was created for Reinking and her original dance partner John Mineo. Birch is mostly known for having created the choreography for the original 1972 Broadway production of GREASE as well as its successful 1978 film adaptation. Reinking suffered a terrible back injury during her run on OVER HERE! She went on to replace Donna McKechnie as Cassie in Broadway’s A CHORUS LINE (in 1976) then she replaced Gwen Verdon in Bob Fosse’s (her then boyfriend) CHICAGO (in 1977).
@@dferzaremba Pat Birch had a knack for discovering new talent, like Ann Reinking. Also in that original production were John Driver, Treat Williams and John Travolta.
Hello, this is a reconstruction from the Broadway musical "Over Here" which Ms. Reinking was in. The choreography was by Patricia Birch and it is very close to what it was. Don Correia was not in that show but may have met Ms. Reinking as they were both replacements in A Chorus Line. Or maybe just through the dance community. At any rate, they look amazing together. th-cam.com/video/uCpNzOaNIFI/w-d-xo.html
What a performance. Bravo to them both, but I just I could not stop watching Ann. Makes me happy & very sad at the same time. RIP Ann.

She is a goddess
He's been married to Sandy Duncan since 1980.
Fosse could have come home to that every night, but had affairs instead. 🤯

Patricia Birch, I believe, with more that a bit of Fosse nods tossed in.
