Having the same problem. My son says it's only Mario World saves that have this error, which just started couple of days ago. Tried deleting and using an older save and that worked, but then the new save today came up with the same error again. No solution yet.

Apparently the Nintendo help website said to insert and remove the game card to your game, a couple of times but that only works for a while. If I close the software the game will stop working again.
So is it only people playing with the game chip having this issue? If I buy a download will it play ok? My son has the game chip version and hasn’t been able to play in 2 months.
Don't delete anything!!! Try to fix the corrupted files first. Switch lets you redownload everything and your progress won't be lost. This happened to me in Witcher 3 on level 44, needless to say the thought of deleting the progress was unacceptable 😂

Just in case someone else comes here for Switch Minecraft... (in my case it's the cartridge). I tried everything, reformatting the sd card - as that's where minecraft was originally installed... reinstalling on the reformatted sd card and also on the system memory... still crashed. Tried clearing all data through the system memory options... still crashed. Tried shutting off the system tried it all and multiple times /combinations. Nothing fixed it. What was the problem? My daughter can't use her account. I had to run it from my account... didn't want to sign in to test so I chose run offline - she's been playing it now for about 25 minutes. Now I suppose I need to go to Nintendo and start a ticket because something with her account is messed up? What a pain. I hope this helps someone!

Guys before you consider deleting your save data, turn off your switch and take out your SD card first. Thats what I did and my game and saves were still in tact after I re inserted my SD card.
I tried that and the error still happened. I'm in the process of formatting my microsd since I already moved the stuff I wanted to save to my desktop and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works
Hey I think i figured a way to fix it without deleting anything! I was having issues when loading an existing map. Game would crash due to error. I tried literally everything. So on the lower left of the main screen it mentions a microsoft account. I went ahead and clicked it which gives you a screen to sign on and synch your microsoft account with your switch. I originally did this to save my progress just incase i needed to delete it. Once i was able to sync my microsoft account to my switch, i was able to load the maps ok!

HOLY SHIT I THINK I FIXED IT! I was able to sign into my microsoft account and once i did that and got it synced with my switch it loaded ok!

Sadly splatoon doesn’t support back-up save data, so all your progress will be gone even if you have the Nintendo membership.

If its a game card, try taking it out and putting it back in. it worked for me when my sword cartridge crashed. don't delete hours of gameplay.
