Warren, thank you so much for this video we (the wife & I ) were looking at these machine's and were wondering wether we could afford one. This is considered to be the budget end of the market which is where we were looking. Very useful and reassuring To see it in use with a review from an unbiased source. Thanks once again!
Hi Warren, just out of interest, you never included the part where you fixed up the dust collector to the vacuum. Did that go into the Titan behind and if so did the hose go straight in?
Thanks for taking the time to do such a thorough unboxing, set up and how to use video. Fab tip about being careful on the first turn on. I covered my bed with cardboard after seeing your video and was glad I did. Thanks 🙂👍
Just stumbled on your channel after I purchased a Triton planer/thicknesser. You have a video from 2017 on the Charnwood W691 which I've been considering due to the amount of wood shavings coming off the planer/thicknesser. Looks like you have a new extraction setup. Did the Charnwood fail or was it not very good? Thanks. Might call round for wood as I only work a mile or so away.
the cross snipe at the beginning and end is apparent and can be rectified by continuity of timber on the rollers. the rollers are the culprit I think, iain w glasgow
Have got a video on you dust extraction setup, as I have a Titan hoover and looking to do something similar. How does the Titan hoover cope with thicknesser, as just bought same one.
Fantastic for reclaimed flooring. Can the blade be sharpened or do you need to replace it? Bit of a, 'How long is a piece of string', question but any idea on how long the blade will stay useful? Quite impressed by it. Thanks Warren.
The actual blades in this machine 2 off them and the blades have 2 cutting edges on them so when one side gets dull you can turn them around and they are hss blades so I'm sure you could make a jig to get more life out the blade to sharpen it as for longevity of the blades it would depend on the types of wood you are planing if your doing a lot of very rough wood in deep passes they wouldn't last too long before needed sharpening but taking shallow cuts they will last longer hope this makes sense
Nope no problems with it still going well only thing is dust extraction it spits sawdust out the infeed table apart from that its excellent I just give it a good blow off with compressor after every few uses keeps it it good condition
Very handy addition to your workshop mate, I reckon it’s an essential item in anybody’s workshop & it’s nice to see Triton have a great range of products available, cheers Warren 🍻👍👍👍👍👍
Yes dirk I couldn't be without it as it's cheaper for me too buy reclaimed timber than trying to buy new from lumbar yards thanks for your comment mate
Thank you Brian my friend yes I am happy now it means I can start using other woods again instead of mdf and hopefully get some interesting builds coming
Hiya Warren , What a way to start a saturday morning watching this video just fantastic !!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us . Warren is it possible to show us how you adjust it you say it is about 2mm out I would love to see you rectify this problem . Many thanks
Got a question ? can you manage with his thicknesser without the planer like the titan planer ref edges clean up just the same , as considering this over the titan can you get by with it
Another good informative video Warren, that little beauty should cut down your finishing time by half, just a shame you had to fork out for a new one, someone's bound to get you to sponsor something soon cos it's a joy to watch your videos, looking forward to next one big pal 👍
Cheers ricky mate yes it's awesome mate leaves the wood so smooth like it's already been sanded with 220 grit and as for the sponsorship I think it's a case of if your face fits mate some companies seem to give tools away to people with hardly as subs and only a handful of videos I've asked certain companies before and basically been told no
Hi pal, Do you have any idea where the circuit breaker is on these machines? Mine cut out and wont start , i have read that there is a breaker, but i cant find it. Steve
Cheers james I was the same before I bought my first one I would always buy ready to use wood from the timber yard but milling your own wood gives you a sense of satisfaction it's a big investment but we'll worth it
In today's video I unbox and test the triton tpt 125 317mm thickneser from @triton_tools_uk

Cheers, I'm just unboxing one of these myself. Good to see another 'big boy' from the UK on here.
Great video Warren, thanks for posting. Can I ask what size hose attachment are you using, and the adapter. Thanks

Top tip on cleaning up the oil from the machine before using - mine had quite a bit too.

Nice video Warren,I've just ordered the Titan for my first P/T hope i get 90% results of what you got with the Triton.
The screwfix machine isn't a bad starter machine and good rules can be achieved with it
Hi Warren, you still happy with this? Any problems? Tips? I am finally looking at getting one. Thanks Warren.
Nope no problems with it still going well only thing is dust extraction it spits sawdust out the infeed table apart from that its excellent I just give it a good blow off with compressor after every few uses keeps it it good condition

Thinking of buying a thicknesser. You still recommend this? You used it much? Thanks Warren.
Excellent machine leaves wood silky smooth and it gets used probably 5 days a week never misses a beat well worth the money

Reset switch/lock switch is on inside by blades, red switch to lock blades in on left hand side near power button

Hi, can you let me know the real dimensions of this with the tables both up and down
I’m sure it will be a good tool. I have a Triton router, it is absolutely brilliant!
Yes I'm really enjoying using this machine it's awesome
I have watched ten of these videos but mine is still in the box I just cannot get a grip of opening a box.
A lovely machine that Warren, hope you have years of use from it. A thicknesser Is the one tools I would like

What do you think of it now 18 months odd later?
Is the planer bed a metal casting , thank you
Frank from U.S.
Cheers mate... just what I wanted to see.
Does it work on Yorkshire women?..😉😄😄😄
Might possibly do with a good push haha
I have one of them , great tool.
It's a fantastic tool it's like night and day compared to my old one I love it
Definitely on my wishlist.
It was on mine too andy for a long time in a way I'm so glad my old one broke so I could get this it's a quality product
I wish I had more space 👍
This takes up less space than the old titan one and gets wider cuts
Thanks Warren, I don't think I have enough room in my workshop for even another screwdriver 👍 😊
Oh and Happy Birthday!
