You guys have the greatest birds and yes you have preserved these great fowl. I love the all the different species and strains from both Puerto Rico or Cuba, the whites are awesome my personal favorites Cuban Canelo and senizo , but overall great game birds.
The "welcome" rooster in your video is a Cuban rooster by Don Gustavo Sanchez. He breeds the Mendieta strain of Spanish type folws which comes pyles and whites in colors.Nice to hear the history of your Pyles.Awesome video.
Yes. I should have given Mr. Sanchez credit. The Irish/English Pyles no doubt descended from these Spanish fowl. They were built the same until English and Irish breeders added their fowl to mix to create their Pyle breeds. The Dan Tracys were at their best when shown about the size of a large Spanish rooster.
Mr. Sanchez has the best in the world highly recommend to anyone who wants to preserve these beautiful birds. It’s important to keep these lines around original and to make crosses. Mr, Sanchez has the 🔥
sir any info on pyle birds around civil war era my grandpa got some in 1949 . can't call them pure but when breed back to each other they come pyle white legged black spurred straight comb mostly white . don't know what kind of blue or pyle but grandpa said the gentleman he gotten from his family had had them from the East Coast pre 1870s
Pyle today in the py is different from the pyle in the old days in terms in colors. Yours are almost white with red in feathers but to today in py pyle is red in hackle white feather with red and white tails
I would love to know the pit in Oklahoma that you were referring to it sounds very familiar 🤔 I frequent the Oklahoma pits in the early 70s was some good times
I have a long time friend who has 100% pure white claret. They come pearl legged straight comb and orange eyes. Never an exception. He has been breeding them since 1965 and has never added anything to blood and never sold a pure hen.
I still got power roosters and I got some big ones my buddy he's got some old house and blues he don't raise the big piles no more I don't know why cuz I'm 59 years old and when I first seen his big piles five they won the derby and one of the toughest fits around
@user-uz4dn3rv2u mine is white rooster with blue legs, And white spangled hen with blue legs.. it came an offpring of straight comb pyle with blue legs.. 60% winning in long knife.. i breed my pyle in my blacks and there goes red mugs at sometime black spangled fowl.. It goes 80% winning in Long knife here in Philippines.. A formidable opponent for the Popular Sweaters and Hatches.. I did try to breed it back to the black side this breeding season October-Dec 2023 hopefully it will be a good result..
Would have been better if you have passed on those bloodlines on to the next generation and kept histories alive. Im sure some of those bloodlines are still alive and well in private hands rich or poor. I got my Bloodlines of Spanish (spur) birds about 30 years ago from a man who was a regional manager of the (East Coast) for "Banco Popular of P.R." who got it from his Grandfather who naver gave or sold birds in P.R. because his saying was that Quality spreads, The Grandfather had Coffee fields and imported coffee, he only sold birds to high friends in Venezuela and Columbia. Only till and old man was in his death bed wasn't that he let the grandson bring bloodlines to the stated (Florida) those came to breed just 1/4 mile from me and where i got hens from the first breeding i when 8 years undefeated with those hens. I also have maintained all my original Ben Cotty bloodlines to this day.
It can not hold against Indian fighting roosters, say 7 blows from these will equal one from them or it strike 7 times and Indian fighting roosters that are called aseel will unleash all seven blows in one strike that's how powerful that one blow is I have seen it they have devastating leg hits.your fowl is beautiful but not for fighting against aseel.
Thank you for preserving this wonderful and little known history.
At the end of the video I mistakenly captioned the Dan Tracy Pyle shown earlier as an Irish Pyle. My apologies, I will improve lol!

The white clarets are from Madigan through a handler that walked roosters for Madigan in Austin Texas area in 1940s.

That is because red blood or blue has been crossed into the fowl.

Bobby boles raised aseels here long ago . Hard hitters but slow and not good in gaff or knife .
