If they want to stick to the 12 team playoffs, I like 4 conference champions get byes.. I'd like to see the 5th champion get a home game. Most importantly, I'd like to see each conference limited to 3 teams max..Let the Big 12 and ACC have two each. ..even better...smaller conferences that actually play each other
Let's give everything a couple weeks, it seems in most cases the CFP gets bailed out by some losses. Eventually they will need to do away with auto bids because SOS does matter, or everyone will schedule cupcakes. Also NOBODY thought the parity would be this close, this is the best season because any of 10 teams can win it.

CFP seeding as per Finebaum, Kirby Smart and rank-and-file SEC fans: 1. Texas 12-1 will play winner of 8/9 seeds 2. Georgia 10-2 will play winner of 7/10 seeds 3. Tennessee 10-2 will play winner of 6/11 seeds 4. Ole Miss 10-2 will play winner of 5/12 seeds 5. Alabama 10-3 host 12 seed 6. South Carolina 9-3 host 11 seed 7. Texas A&M 9-3 host 10 seed 8. Mizzou 9-3 host 9 seed 9. LSU 8-4 10. Play in game: Vandy 6-6 hosts Notre Dame 11. Play-in game: Winner of B1G conference championship hosts highest rank “G5’ conference champ (ie Boise State, Tulane, Army) 12. Play-in game: Winner of ACC hosts winner of Big XII
No, that isn't what anyone is saying. You have programs that deliberately scheduled weak opponents and have not played anyone competitive or in the case of Notre Dame don't even have to play a conference championship game.
@@peytonmorris4994I’d agree with you but Notre Dame is unable to get a bye, regardless if they go undefeated with the #1 SOS and win by 100 each game or squeak in at 12. They’re playing just as many games as anyone else 5-12… unless your agreement is we should go back to a four team format.
Yes I believe Indiana would have 2-3 losses for sure, Oregon one loss and OSU one loss. I am a Big 10 guy with the Bucks but the SEC is they toughest division this year hands down. Rank them 1-12 and no auto bids. SOS is a big deal, then people will schedule better competition. Its such a fun year you have to admit, love college football
What season are we looking at? Hope it’s 2024… no one complained b4… I saw Georgia win by 1 point against OSU n questionable officiating to win their Natty.. well 4 Big 10 teams are making the playoffs…
A one point loss to OSU proves that Indiana is on the tier with OSU and Oregon and above Georgia. UGA beat Kentucky by 1. Josh has absolutely no idea how to critically analyze football results. In Josh’s world, losing to 2020 Bama by 1 is worse than beating 2008 Washington by 1
Oh so instead of SEC fans getting a dose of reality the entire country should just stop playing cuz josh says the SEC should get 100 Auto bid spots for a 12 team tournament 🤣 what a Greg Sankey puppet
He grew up in the deep South. I don’t trust Southerners to evaluate us Northerners. Southern voters vote against Northern candidates on purpose. Look at the McCaffery-Derrick Henry Heisman debacle. And I love that Bama team. But cmon
Well TX has got to get by KY and I thing we all no what KY is capable of doing with that defense all you have to do is ask old miss and give GA one hell of a fight so TX better not looking past ky this is for dam sure
Let’s be real here the SEC is the king of football there is a massive drop off with the rest of the conferences. B1G and Big 12 are equal as they are mediocre conferences that are shallow when it comes to solid teams. It will be an all SEC in the final 4 and SEC in the Natty so it doesn’t matter. OSU and PSU will get blown out by 40, look at every single time OSU has been in the playoffs expect for 2014. Bama will finish Notre Dame by the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Roll Tide Roll
The SEC can kick and scream all they want unless you are Georgia or Alabama with the occasional one off runs by Auburn and LSU what else has the rest of the conference done? You keep saying that you play in the toughest conference in the nation but the only ones we ever see come out are Bama and Georgia and the one offs. Everybody else acts as if they have done something TN hasn't done anything since 2007, Ole Miss has never even been to the SEC title game. Unless you are Bama, Georgia, LSU and or Auburn please don't act like you deserve a spot just because you've only lost 2 games.
Exactly. Every conference is down. This has been the worst year since 2007, which was a horrible year in which America’s two best teams (Georgia and USC) were completely screwed. I’ve been trying to tell people CFB peaked from 2015-20 but no one’s listening to me. After Lawrence and Fields left, along with NIL legalization the sport has been in a void.
Alr I agree with u about nil but just cuz ur fav team isn’t doing so hot doesn’t mean this season hasn’t been great shit ima bama fan and this season has still been fun I mean it’s damn near rivalry week and other than Tulane vs army we don’t have a single team that has clinched a conference title spot
This is still a fun year of CFB simply because its CFB, but the sport has been lacking. And the fact that multiple deserving teams will be robbed is not helping the case. You wont care as a Bama fan but if Tennessee gets left out it would be a shame. The more you expand, the more teams get robbed.
Why doesn’t the SEC just host a 12 tournament playoff? Then those teams can finish one through 12 in the final rankings.

Good to see Pate in there
Pate with the GUNS OUT!! Roll Tide
Josh up there giddy with them Gals! Need to take one of the on a date!
Too many teams in a conference it’s obvious. Bring back divisions.
100% agree
me personally i don’t think a 3 loss team deserves to be in
Indiana, and Oregon would have 2 to 3 losses with GA’s Schedule.
