Sir I don't understand what is the need of two backcross and one selfing, can we do selfing on Rr and then again backcross?
Selfing wouldn't be of any use because we would get a resistance variety but characters of A won't be there... It would be a waste of one year.

We make 99 percent original gene of the plant and only 1 percentage gene is rust resistance gene. We do only selfing we can't make a original gene in the new variety. So we done a 5 to 6 time backcross
