I'm always struck by how polished and pristine all of their instruments look in these old films...I'm left wondering if its the fact that they were probably new-ish instruments (vs. our adoration for vintage, now) OR if they took the time to keep them clean?
One of the Beatles very best “later years” songs. There were no liner notes describing the Beatles doing their vocal “air horns” but as a kid, I immediately knew they were doing it because I used to play around with that. They were not afraid to try totally improbable things to get the sound they wanted rather than using stock instruments like everyone else did. Incredible that 1968 was really their “later years”, but that’s how fast the group progressed. Every six months they were doing totally different things, No one EVER knew what was going to come out next. It was their train & the rest of us just tried to keep up. No band ever worked with so many styles all at once either and no one else has ever done that since. That’s why the band basically exploded towards the end. In 8 years they had done what most groups could never do in 15 or 20 yrs.
Paul was a great guitarist, but deferred to Lennon and took up the bass duties. Why? I guess John couldn’t do it. Just as well because Paul turned out be a master on the bass - highly underrated. Both he and John were workmanlike on piano as well. So much talent in one band…
They don't make music like this anymore, and that makes me sad. Just glad that the Beatles will forever be immortalised by their music. RIP John Lennon and George Harrison, thanks for the brilliant music x
it's really strange when you think about it, people will paint things for ever and it will still be contemporary, people will take great photos as well, why can't people write great songs anymore, is there a finite limit to chords melody ànd lyrics? my band Terry and the tonsils might just crack it 👍
@@pauldickinson6943 The problem as I see it and this goes for all media (movies, series etc.) is that there is a talent shortage. Writers, actors and the like. Then the music industry convinced people that rap and hip hop is better than sliced bread. Then we have remake after remake. The reason that stuff was good in the first place was the actors were good, the directors were good and the writing was good. There's simply a lack of talent. Same with sports. We only have 30 odd teams with football, baseball etc. Not enough talent to support more teams. There will never be another Beatles nor another John Wayne. These things can't be duplicated.

Back in the day there lots of good bands around .- plus lots of blues men from America. What I liked about the Beatles was their wit and intelligence which they injected into their music. They embodied the freshness that the world desperately needed then... and even more now. I still listen to them half a century later and with the passing of time the greater they seem to become.
I've been wandering around this planet for seventy years and I haven't heard anyone that's beat 'em yet... Ah yes Sgt Peppers they used to play it on the ole radio every evening as I was wandering home from choir practice I was just a kid.
Absolute masterpiece! I love John's surrealistic lyrics but this is poetry that speaks to everyone and I don't think McCartney gets enough cred for that - never mind the music and insane piano from Paul!
It's been said before but I'll say it again. John and Paul were at their best either collaborating or competing with each other. Their individual strengths blended in those instances.
Where did you get "John's surrealistic lyrics" from? He certainly didn't write the lyrics. He may have offered a word or suggestion here or there, but the evidence even for that is poor. In 1972 "Lennon attributed Lady Madonna directly to Paul McCartney . . . with no comment." (Hit Parader 1972) Eight years later he can't remember so well. Asked by Sheff who wrote it he said flatly, “Paul." But then he adds "maybe I helped him on some of the lyrics," but he seems to be just guessing. "I'm not proud of them either way," he said. (All We Are Saying) In Many Years From Now, Paul said "'Lady Madonna' was me", mentioning no input from John. In "McCartney 3,2,1," Paul says that he wrote the song at home (7 Cavendish Ave, St. Johns Wood) with no mention of John. That's corroborated by Ringo's comment back in 1968 that Paul brought it into the studio finished: "I couldn't really say what the lyrics mean, because only Paul knew what he had in his mind. Paul composed the song at home." (Beatlesebooks) I can't find any source that adds any meat to John's very vague "maybe I helped" from 1980.
@@strathman7501You probably misunderstood. I guess it says John's lyrics are surrealistic in general but Paul made good poetic lyrics to this particular song.

I remember getting my mother to run out to Woolworths to buy this single for me. It was groundbreaking at the time. It is just timeless. Amazing!
I like that they're pretty obviously not playing Lady Madonna
Right! It’s Hey Bulldog.
Hey Bulldog
@@diogo_barros Looking through, you can clearly see them say the lyrics/screaming
Um
It’s nicsterv
There will never ever be a better or bigger group like the beatles
Happy 50th anniversary "Lady Madonna / The Inner Light" (released on March 15th 1968)
WOW, WHERE IS THE TIME GOING?
The inner light is amazing
Yes I agree a great song I remember in 1973when I was 7, My two kids Joe is 35, crystal is 31.I wish you the best with your kids, and baby
OMG Ringo’s face at 0:41 though!!!! My heart melted!! And the “see how they run”, I could watch and listen to that part for hours and hours!!! Thanks for uploading this!!!!
Lady Madonna✨I love the simple accompaniment of the piano and the light drums. The slightly thick vocal root is also good.
Paul's piano is fantastic, as well as the saxophones. Great song!
As an artist I see beauty personality heart soul honesty, and loyalty to the royalty of their art
One of the best Beatles songs, and they had many. This one is a masterpiece.
When you heat word Madonna who xomes to.your mind? The Beatles, The Madonna (Jesus's Mother), Madonna (Ciccone) or maybe Onion Madonna who was second woman noble winner?
Out of curiosity...
Simply beautiful
One of my all time favorites. My cousins have a Beatles tribute band and they say this is the hardest one to play.
Lyrics
Lady Madonna, children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet
Who finds the money when you pay the rent?
Did you think that money was heaven sent?
Friday night arrives without a suitcase
Sunday morning creeping like a nun
Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlace
See how they run
Lady Madonna, baby at your breast
Wonders how you manage to feed the rest
See how they run
Lady Madonna lying on the bed
Listen to the music playing in your head
Tuesday afternoon is never ending
Wednesday morning papers didn't come
Thursday night your stockings needed mending
See how they run
Lady Madonna, children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet
You might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Lady Madonna by The Beatles
The Beatles espetacular, sensacional. The Beatles para sempre!
Some days you just need The Beatles, like every day, but that's beside the point!
The bass on this is orgasmic
piano is King.
@John lennon ✔ Spoken like a true fan.
@John lennon ✔ quite literally
Bigboy Boris
Listen to bass on something or hey bulldog
It is literally ........ Next level 😅 ( can't remember a word better than orgasmic )
RIP John Lennon and George Harrison, thanks for the brilliant music x
this great beatles song always makes me feel good yeah they don't make music like this anymore 🥀
it's really strange when you think about it, people will paint things for ever and it will still be contemporary, people will take great photos as well, why can't people write great songs anymore, is there a finite limit to chords melody ànd lyrics? my band Terry and the tonsils might just crack it 👍
after we've been to the dentist.
They didnt make it before then either. Enjoy it for the beautiful moment it was.
Greatest rock n roll band ever and probably for ever
If that's true what about Bands before the Beatles because there were bands that inspired Beatles at young age to want to together and form the Band The Beatles and Beatles are up there and am with you on that but there up there with bands before and after them
These songs inspire and conjure the emotions in our hearts. The Beatles expressed it this way "All You Need Is Love. It's a reminder God Is Love! Blessings to all. Randy from Medford
1:21 Paul almost takes a fall, he'd be a fallen Paullin'.
don't hold your breast
Faul.
@@sabrinasjourney stop or you'll be dead on your porch
im just disappointed in myself
Hah, Paul almost takes a Faul there.
I REALLY like this song. Heard it playing at johnny rockets. Nothing today will even SLIGHTLY compare to The Beatles.
You sound like a typical older person.. ain't nothing wrong with that.. everyone thinks their generation had best music... I remember back in the 60s my parents saying exactly what you said !😂
2:12 Paul Mccartney invent the first dab
Yeees
haha wow
nope, that was not a proper dab. The first official dab in a music video was done by Brian May in 1980, while shooting the "Play The Game" video
just like John Deacon inventing the T-Pose

I am 16 years old, I was born on January 21, 2008, I am from Mexico, in this case from Mexico City, Federal District, originally from there, I was born there in the capital, I am Mexican and I am proud of Being so not only because of its great country's ecosystem or culture but also because of its music since Mexico is one of the countries in the world and in Latin America that has the most Beatlemania and I must say that I am Musician, composer, performer, and I have my own band created by me from Mexico and I am inspired by The Beatles to make it myself since they inspired me to enter the world of music and I like them I really love The Beatles, both their music and their talent, that's why I have been inspired by John Lennon since he is my favorite Beatle to create my own musical band, but I must also tell him Thanks also to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr and thank you for inspiring me to be who I am today and to be prepared for my future. Music was what helped me.I help to assign myself and create my band with other friends from school.
I've always loved Paul's vocals on this one
Another number 1 hit by the Beatles. It was on the charts for weeks in the spring of 68. See Ringo lay down a tight drum beat as Paul plays the piano. Listen to the three part harmony when the sing See How They Run. Perfection!
No. 1 in England, No. 4 here in the States.
0:17 0:32 What A Genius! Paul can even sing telepathically =)
Ahhhhhh...Beatle Bill 😏
My uncle was born in 1941. And when he living during the gigantic popularity of these lads, he was able to see the live performance of The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show on television. RIP Uncle, I will always love you forever. ❤️
素晴らしい曲大好きな曲です。
The Beatles = The Masters of Cool
Mais de 50 anos depois ainda nao apareceu uma banda que chegue aos pes dos beatles.
love it when they play hey bulldog but are playing lady madonna at the same time. impressive.
This song always reminded me of their song Hey Bulldog. The fact that their music videos are from the same video just makes that stronger.
whimsical back vocals, curious, enigmatic lyrics relaying some sort of single mother's week-long routine, up and down scales, sax, carnival piano, driving electric guitar, a perfect three minute package
Their music will never seems old fashioned ‼️❤️
I’m Happy I decided to get back into the Beatles again❤
I'm happy just to dance with you
Get back to where you once belong.
What a song ! One of their very best non-album singles.
Which is better?
Back in the day there lots of good bands around .- plus lots of blues men from America. What I liked about the Beatles was their wit and intelligence which they injected into their music. They embodied the freshness that the world desperately needed then... and even more now.
I still listen to them half a century later and with the passing of time the greater they seem to become.
One of my favorite Beatles songs since I was a teen. Everything about it is magnificent-thank you Paul McCartney!
The greatist band ever hands down📀📀📀📀📀
always will be
The best christmas gift ever! Thank you! :DD I'm waiting for more!
kreedzVEVO
Certainly! I was waiting for them to upload Something and they did last night! Yay
FAKE !!!! This video is Hey bulldog
JusticieroBurning the promo video for Hey Bulldog and Lady Madonna is the same since the songs were recorded around the same time. Not fake.
No...John sing HEY BULLDOG here...It's very clear
These guys were special. Very special.
Pauls face adds to the lovelyness of the songs he's georgious perfectly lovely ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've been wandering around this planet for seventy years and I haven't heard anyone that's beat 'em yet... Ah yes Sgt Peppers they used to play it on the ole radio every evening as I was wandering home from choir practice I was just a kid.
Even if they were one hit wonders and this was their only hit, they'd still be a historical band.
It’s true!
You gotta admit, the Beatles knew how to put a song together.
That’s because they would COME TOGETHER and work like a team
Absolute masterpiece! I love John's surrealistic lyrics but this is poetry that speaks to everyone and I don't think McCartney gets enough cred for that - never mind the music and insane piano from Paul!
Paul went all out for this song-still one of my favorites after all these years!
It's been said before but I'll say it again. John and Paul were at their best either collaborating or competing with each other. Their individual strengths blended in those instances.
@@PC4USE1 yes! Their chemistry created magic. They brought out the best on each other, musically.
Where did you get "John's surrealistic lyrics" from? He certainly didn't write the lyrics. He may have offered a word or suggestion here or there, but the evidence even for that is poor.
In 1972 "Lennon attributed Lady Madonna directly to Paul McCartney . . . with no comment." (Hit Parader 1972)
Eight years later he can't remember so well. Asked by Sheff who wrote it he said flatly, “Paul." But then he adds "maybe I helped him on some of the lyrics," but he seems to be just guessing. "I'm not proud of them either way," he said. (All We Are Saying)
In Many Years From Now, Paul said "'Lady Madonna' was me", mentioning no input from John.
Paul composed the song at home." (Beatlesebooks)
I can't find any source that adds any meat to John's very vague "maybe I helped" from 1980.
@@strathman7501You probably misunderstood. I guess it says John's lyrics are surrealistic in general but Paul made good poetic lyrics to this particular song.
Every Beatle song should have been number #1💛🧡❤️🤍🖤🤎💜💙💚💕 Beatles Forever!!!
I love the Beatles!
Many artists, bands, singers did a lot of success in 60's. The Beatles did hundreds of succesfull musics
