      As a local, I would suggest you check the weather forecast first. Can't tell about Georgia but Almaty weather isn't quite nice right now. It's sizzling hot in fact. I would guess that the video was filmed a month ago or even earlier and the city felt a lot nicer back then. Just a suggestion though coz, I don't know, you might like it anyway 😁😁

      Gooseberries are known as krijovnik (крыжовник) in Kazakh and amrak in India. They are far more bitter in Eurasia and India than they are in Europe and United States.

      I belive that in the past a lot of East Asian (Chinese, Mongol, Korean etc) intermarry with people from Western Asia as a result of Silk Road Trade. And the result is Central Asian. Please Correct me if i am wrong.

Astana is the capital of Kazakhstan. it's modern and new city. so it's beautiful. u shoulda visit it. and in Almaty u can visit kok-tobe, president park(it's huge n beautiful), Mega Alma-Ata. in Astana Khan-Shatyr, Mega Silk Way, EXPO, Baiterek, Botanicheskiy Sad, president park, different museums(i forgot the names), mosques(they're beautiful). thanks for attention.

    Almaty is a really beautiful city! I lived there and I miss it so bad! You must visit it! It has beautiful sightseeings, parks, lakes, canyon, mountains, and the people is hospitable. A really nice city to visit 🤩

    Almaty looks like a very interesting place to visit - a mixture of old and modern buildings. A little surprised that an Englishman did not recognise gooseberries in the flesh - my grandparents used to grow them in their garden in order to make fruit pie. Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

    Hey there! Those are gooseberries at 1:15! Actually, they are loaded with vitamin C and taste really good, a mixture of sour and sweet. My grandma used to make excellent gooseberry jam. Loved it.

    Fun fact for an Englishman - not sure if Aidana told you, the huge building at 8:00 was a government hall back in the soviet post-war era (in 1991, the independence law was signed in this building). Since 2001, this building now serves as the so-called "Kazakh-British Technical University" and works in association with both countries, including partnership with the British Council and the University of London.

    This market area is where I went to eat plov, bought samsa bread, got my haircut every other week, shoes, school supplies and the famous Rakhat choco factory nearby. Just a walking distance from the bazaar is the vast Panfilov Park wherein you can find the heroes memorial and the largest wooden cathedral in the world.

      Turkish and Kazakh are brothers indeed. We lived together before, but the "Oguz clan" moved from Aral Sea (sea on the south of Kazakhstan) to nowadays Turkey land.

    The berry’s name from Zeleniy Bazaar you’ve been wondering about is gooseberry. Pretty sour berry, but might be sweet as well when ripe. Used to be my favorite when I was a kid

      Gooseberries are known as krijovnik (крыжовник) in Kazakh and amrak in India. They are far more bitter in Eurasia and India than they are in Europe and United States.

    Those green berries you didn't know, they are quite common in Sweden. We grew them in our garden as a kid. Gooseberries I think they are called in english.
    I got shocked when they told the russian name Kruzhovnik, since it is very similar to the swedish name Krusbär

      You're correct---they are known as the Gooseberry in North America also. The same berry grows wild, and/or cultivated from Europe to western Asia.

    I'm from the UK and even I know that those berries were gooseberries. My grandmother used to have a gooseberry bush in her back garden and she used to make gooseberry crumble with them.

    LOVE Almaty - I was there a week or two ago and I really want to go back and spend more time there! Did you make it to some of the nature spots? I went to the Assy Plateau and it was beautiful! I'll have a video about it on my channel soon :)

    Love Almaty from Kashmir. Have been to this extremely beautiful city in 2018 and I really liked it. Liked for its immensely beautiful roads, parks, old and new buildings, well maintained bazaars and last but not the least its people. Almaty is a full package for a tourist. The hill side is not too far from the city. I enjoyed watching mesmerising view of the city from Tok Tobe. I would love to visit Almaty again if given a chance.

    Beshbarmak is usually lamb or mutton. Kazakhs will serve Kazy (horse sausage) along side beshbarmak. Beshbarmak literally means “five fingers” because you use the blanket noodles to wrap the meat with your fingers and eat without silverware!

    I'm Russian was born in Kazakhstan but now I'm living in Australia and no one accept me like from Kazakhstan, everyone thinking Kazakhstan is Russia :) of cause it use to be USSR but it is different country. I gave up to explain and now telling everyone I'm from part of Russia which called Kazakstan, and from Alma-Ata which called now Almaty :). All people lives in stereotypes and me too, now I filming everything around Australia in my point of you and show people it in my videos.

    I miss Kz.
    I spent 60 days in Tengiz then another two weeks visiting Uralsk, Aktobinsk, Almaty, and Taldykorgan. Then took a flight on a sketchy old Russian jet to Astana (what's the new name?). While in Almaty I went up to the ski resort and the smell of the mountains made me homesick for the first time.
    I need to visit again before I forget all the words. All I can remember now is: Karley tan, Rachmet, Berkut, and Shoobat. Mmmm... yummy shoobat.

    The green Berries at 1:20 are called "Stachelbeeren" in Germany. I grew up on a farm in Germany in the 1960's, and we had some patches of it, that weaved themselves into garden fences. Mom used it for jams and fruitcakes. i liked their very sweet flavor.
