    That Auto Bezier to Linear fix is a lifesaver..... been fighting with that for ages!

    Man, I've been fighting against position changes making random increases between keyframes. Hope I knew about linear spatial keyframes 4 years ago. Thank you very much

    The wandering keyframes segment was the biggest help! I've been dealing with this issue for months and did not think to look at the Spatial Interpolation section.

    Holy, that 'pin to clip' setting just blew my mind, good tips. Also, not being able to move time remap keyframes is annoying

    This gave me enough of a clue to figure out what was going on and fix the problem. Essentially I was easing in/out on the scale and crop keyframes when I really needed to hold them. Thanks for the insights, definitely helped.

    Colin,
    Big thanks for this video; I've watched a lot of your content and it's always intelligent and comprehensible. I've been doing technical imaging professionally for nearly 40 years and burn my sad life away these days in front of banks of video monitors. One thing that regularly drives me NUTS is the odd keyframe that slips outside a trimmed clip and causes weird 'creep' at the end. My own solution is to create a new track, drag the footage up and open it longer (to avoid buggering up everything else in the edit...), then finding and deleting the offending point and returning everything to its original edit.
    I had no idea that there was a simple solution to this, so my genuine thanks and respect mate. Your solution is SO MUCH SIMPLER AND QUICKER.
    This highlights two things (which I regularly vent to students of the craft...): 1. Never assume you know it all; take the time to watch tutorials, and 2. Why on earth is the vast Adobe corporation no longer able to produce a printable PDF with these sort of things in a searchable index?
    Live long and prosper!
    John M.

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks John. I used to work for Adobe for 17+ years. I was amazed one day long ago when they got rid of all the technical writers. The existing PDF user guides are filled with inaccurate an old information. What a shame. Adobe just pushes users to other users for help.

  • @rainerwahnsinn9423
    @rainerwahnsinn9423 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you very much for this excellent video! I have one more question to the first problem as I`m currently having issues with it. Why is it still desplaying the former length of the clip in the effect controls when you trimmed the clip? It makes it much more difficult to work with it as I am not interested in the former length when I shortened the clip. And one more thing. When I drag the player head to the last position in the effect controls panel I jump out of the clip by one frame. I need to use the cursor buttons to jump one frame back to be on the last frame of the clip. Is this avoidable somehow?

    • @VideoRevealed

      Keyframes remain on the clip where they were added. If you cut a clip that has a keyframe, it will travel with the clip.

    Please, I need some advice, please. When highlighting text and setting keyframes for the CROP function, the highlight starts to expand beyond the keyframes. This means that the highlight begins 2 seconds after the first keyframe and ends halfway between the keyframes. I have no idea what to do. Do you have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    Pin-To-Clip and Ken Burns Effect. Yes! As I watched this unfold in your tutorial, it hit me... All these years I've been creating the classic "Ken Burns" effect (giving motion to still graphics, photos) where I want to have their motion continue as I dissolve-thru to the next clip -- and I extended the clip with motion so the keyframe was at the end; then I trimmed the clip shorter, maintaining the keyframe on the disappeared clip ending -- well, that's the poor man's way I did it. NOW, I get it! I'm doing the opposite of what you advise in this tutorial when I want a Ken Burns effect. I create the length of clip I want. Get into the effects motion keyframes. Do the desired motions, then turn off Pin-to-Clip, expand the "Zoom Bar" on the bottom of the keyframe palette, and place my end-motion keyframe(s) out there. The end result is the motion in my clip continues thru and beyond the transition to the next clip on the timeline. I suppose this is a kludgy explanation, but I was elated by this discovery of mine thanks to your tutorial and then thought you might have already addressed this in a previous Video Revealed. Anyhow... thanks!

    This video is amazing, thank you!!! I'm having a weird keyframe problem I haven't experienced before. I added two keyframes, one in a wide framing, and one in a close-up, for a slow continuous zoom-in. But one frame after the last keyframe, the video is continuing to zoom in! I've checked and checked for other hidden keyframes, none. I've removed all keyframes, shut down, rebooted, re-added keyframes, etc, and the problem persists. On ALL my keyframes throughout my project, regardless of the effect I'm trying to achieve or the footage I'm editing. One frame after the last keyframe continues moving. When I look at the position and scale numbers, they don't change! But the video is moving. If you have any tips about this glitch/issue I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

    is there a way to save transform keyframes for text shape as a preset?
    I want to save a text In and out animation preset respecting the mask with shape function.
    When i try to save it it does not allow to select just position property but the text itself which also applies the text wording as well,
    and if I use a transform effect it applies it to the whole graphic overwriting the mask with shape function.

    Mah I ask something that has nothing to do with key frames ? The final result of my videos has always been a dvd, where an initial Menu would allow the viewer to jump to the section of the video he wished to see. Is there a way to do something similar now that dvd are out of fashion ?

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Videos themselves cannot contain any type of controls or interactivity. DVDs were controlled by the player. Videos can be opened in any number of players and platforms but all those players just open a video.
      The only way to control what a user sees is to provide an interactive environment like a web page with JavaScript interactivity or create an app which is way beyond my capabilities.

    Well I wasn’t aware that resizing a clip would leave a key frame hanging out there like that, assumed all key frames would be pulled in when you trimmed it, maybe they could make it an option to check so it doesn’t happen. Good to know, thanks.

    • @VideoRevealed
      @VideoRevealed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm, I'm not sure how that would affect the animation though. It would definitely jump to the last keyframe.
