The three all-time best films depicting fighter aircraft combat are Wings (1927), Top Gun (1986) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). One detail missing from Top Gun (1986) was highlighting the strain that 'dogfighting' puts on the human body. Wings (1927) captured it, and so did Maverick (2022). The latest film was absolutely breathtaking in terms of air combat photography, and as the unmanned aircraft era emerges it might never be surpassed.

Pretty great video.
Just saw Wings for the first time recently and I just had to know how the movie was filmed.
Pretty surprised that the whole thing was legit and the fact that they used really plane flying in the sky is insane; especially in 1927.
