Tennessee Williams seems humble and it's amazing to watch the people shuffling by and ending with the sailor who slows his pace to allow Williams to pass.
This is the only film I've ever seen of Tennessee's longtime lover, Frankie Merlo, who can be viewed right at the beginning, before the interview starts, going up and removing something (looks like a pen or a pencil) from Tennessee's lapel pocket. They both look so dapper, and Frankie was known to have a passion for nice clothes -- just like Paolo in the novel The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, which was published this very year, 1950.
Anyone know anything about Jack Mangan? What his career and life were like? I can't find anything regarding him with Google other than the Ship's Reporter interviews.
god, look at the way the interviewer hooks him around the arm to keep him from walking away. that was very odd and sort of unsettling. and he’s got this sort of coy giddiness about him like a schoolgirl around someone she likes. incredibly strange
I wish there were more interviews of him from this time period.
look at the way he carries himself. Class.
A great interview...Happy Tennessi w here...Good old days..
I love his smile.
I love the facial expressions of the people in the background.

Think he may have had a few drinks at lunch judging by his sloppy walk.
