Isn't this the pattern of all men who weren't born of a virgin (not just the disciples)? Imagine if your mother was a virgin, you'd see things quite "miraculously" (of course if you were born of a virgin, you'd know (underline "know") 'miraculous', it wouldn't be miraculous for you. Even for those who were closest to Jesus still didn't understand/live all Jesus was saying/teaching/exemplifying that he called us all to do.
