Judas was murdered in Mansonic ritual. They put a hangmans noose over the Right or Left shoulder and cut across the stomach. Jesus asked in private for Judas to betray him Jesus had a plan to kill the high Priests he told them all to get swords. Earlier that day he overturned the tables at the Temple. Angering the high Priests. Jesus said one of you will betray me. Each apostle said is it I when Judas diped Jesus said thou sayst at the end of meal Jesus told judas go and betray and do it quickly. This was to fulfil what was written that he would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver the amount that Jesus had told Judas. Jesus didn't think the High Priests would bring staves and swords Jesus was over powered Jesus could only get three swords he was going to kill murder them. Think about it? Jesus makes a whip and whips Innocent people overturning the tables of the people saling birds? Judas asks exactly for the thirty pieces of silver? They all knew Judas was to betray him no one stops him? So they including Jesus even betrayed. himself. Jesus told them all to get swords WHY? Look at how Judas was murdered? Jesus ask why they came with swords. Reread John?
This is exactly the theory of Judas that many Christians have always believed to be Judas' motive for his betrayal. Many Christians have always felt like Judas did not expect his actions to lead to Jesus' death.
But it's odd... So . If only the Romans had the authority to kill someone jesus supposedly know he was going to die and was meant to, so he would have known the priests would betray him and judas by handing him to the Romans, but he tells the disciples to have swords because he was going to attack priests and there were zealits in jesus followers with swords who wanted him to be the messiah with swords and angels leading fighting against Romans. Priests anyone who wasn't with them the zealots. So jesus not like we think.not peace. Turn other cheek. Do good for others
Yes, Judas witnessed all the miracles and knew Jesus had the power to defeat the enemies of Israel that the prophets foretold of him. Jesus didn’t look like he was motivated to bring the sword so Judas was trying to force his hand. However Jesus gave himself up which surprised not only Judas. Judas was responsible for initiating what resulted in a very different and tragic outcome in his mind and hence he killed himself out of grief and guilt.
Isn't it strange that eyewitness accounts are suspect but strangers living thousands of years later, can give an eyewitness account of what really happened. Incredible!
The New Testament writer's never said to be eye witnesses. Non of them signed by their names. Even Paul in Galatians doesn't claim to be an eye witness.
Have you ever read a historical account where the writer put his name in it? It is put on the cover by the publishers. Without just being led astray by fake news one must check everything one hears. John 21:24 This is the disciple who gives this witness about these things and who wrote these things, and we know that his witness is true. If one doesn't want to believe this was John, Jesus' cousin and apostle, doesn't matter. It was written by an EYEWITNESS. Yes! Paul wasn't an eye witness so wasn't the historian Luke. Do we discard books on history just because it is written much later by non eyewitnesses? Doesn't make any sense!
@@tongakhan230 Acts 4:13 John was illiterate. See the Greek and the translation by Bible hub. So it wasn't John himself who wrote it. Very interesting on the etymology of “Iscariot”, and the theory that as a zealot, Judas may have been trying to rile up the Jewish citizens to revolt against Rome. And if Judas did hang himself in front of the family burial caves of Annas/Caiaphas, thus defiling them, that sheds a completely different light on Judas’s motives and character. SUPER interesting. Thank you for an excellent film!
Why would they want to be buried there knowing full well that Judas Iscariot hanged himself nearby? Surely Anna's and family died much after the Crucifixion and Judas death
At the last meal Jesus gave Judas the SOP which was the highest honor at a Jewish table... the SOP was Jesus dipping the bread in the dip and feeding Judas by hand.. it was to show Judas His love for him and the honor in the private mission they had to have Jesus turned over to the Jewish leadership at that moment in time... Well, firstly - Satan didn't say anything to Eve. It was the Serpent (who was not Satan) that spoke to Eve. Secondly - the Serpent didn't say "God didn’t really say you can’t eat of any of the trees in the Garden”. What the Serpent actually says is "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" (Gen 3.1). It was a question - not a statement and Eve answers the question in the very next verse (Gen 3.2).

There are many unknowns surrounding the events that occurred then and it is very easy to condemn Judas from our perspective, so far back in time and what happened then. Sticking to the gospels, and after reading and rereading, I always had the impression that Judas did not really want his teacher to be condemned, but that he somehow wanted to protect him. The two people who died in those tragic circumstances were Jesus and Judas, and the latter preceded the first. If Judas decided not to continue living, it had to be for a very powerful reason and I cannot think of other than, in his intention to protect Jesus, he was betrayed and he could not bear what happened to his teacher. He was chosen by Jesus, lived with Him, witnessed His words and actions, and surely overwhelmed by His charismatic personality. It's hard for me to think that he would betray him for money. But, well, it is a simple opinion, mine, that does not matter. It is the specialists who will be the most accurate in their conclusions.
suicide? How did he die? Only Matthew says hanging. Acts says he fell headlong and exploded. Papias says he became fat and was crushed by a chariot. A banned Gospel says the disciples stoned him
Ecclesiastes:3.11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Basically The betrayal of Judas is part of the prophecy and fulfillment of Jesus because his intention in this world is to teach people good things and so his last mission as a human being is to offer his life in order to save all the people in the world we can not blame Judas because it is part of the prophecy so God can save us through crucifixion

How do know? Were you there? Silly people, you're fed stories your entire life and you simply take it as fact. How about you stop listening to people who lived thousands of years ago about how we should live and edjust your mind to the 21st century?
Judas Iscariot was probably Judas the Sicarius (Judas the Knife). Peter carried a sword, and was nicknamed the Rock (Rocky). These were tough guys, probably rebels against Roman rule. We can only guess whether or not the rebel cause was worth less to Judas than 30 pieces of silver.
Judas was a Judean like Jesus and was a Sicari. Peter was a Galilean and a fisherman. He was not a rebel. He carried a fisherman's knife. He acted like a Rocky. Peter was scared of death and denied and abused Jesus. Judas was different. He was killed. He never denied Jesus or he made any attempt to run away. He had the guts to kiss Jesus before he died. What is puzzling is that the man who betrays does so that his interest is served. The betrayer would do everything to escape with his life. Judas does not seem to worry about death. Then the betrayal story is plain nonsense and meaningless. But what is most amazing is that Judas who had so much of money and was a master of finance and accounts could fall for a cheap trick like thirty pieces of silver. This is ridiculous.

Judas believed Jesus would set up the kingdom and wanted to push Jesus into action. Since Judas was the treasurer and a thief, he reasoned that he would then be treasurer over a larger operation and could steal even more money. But, when things didn't work out, he (like many investors in 1929) committed suicide in a way that defiled the tombs of those priests who betrayed him.
He had the same amount of time as the others... unless you're saying theirs aren't true, as well. Just because the politicians running the Council of Nicea didn't let it make the final edition doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't true. The original Nicean Bible was far larger than the modern versions. When the Romans took the reins of Christianity a lot was edited and redacted, so it would conform to their political scheme. The same has been true for every sect that has since come along. The clearest example is King Henry VIII creating the Church of England. Catholics, Evangelicals, Methodists, Pentecostals, Lutherans, and all of the others have their own version of the Bible, and they all have different views and opinions, even over the most crucial of events. Ask God first, every time, before quoting scripture as fact. God will tell your heart what is true and what is bullshit. It's up to you to follow or not.

Regardless which side of the debate one falls on, it’s truly tragic and immoral that Christians would use Judas as a symbol to justify hatred or brutality toward Jews. As devout follower of JESHUA, it breaks my heart.
I often find the connections you make rather stretched, while of course being exciting and attractive. This time, though, you have really showed me something interesting. For many years I have been sceptical about whether Jesus was even a real historical character. None of the “evidence” for him convinces me. However, the combination of the tradition of the location of Judas’ suicide with the recent revelation that this is where Anas’ family tomb was makes me really think there must have been a real man with a real motive, and therefore that motive may well have involved a historical Jesus.
Let's start at the beginning. The God of Adam was EL. El was Adam's daddy. El is a physical God. In heaven, EL had a spirit son. He was B"EL, son of God. Because of Adam's sin, EL told Adam that some time in the future, He would send B"EL into the world, born of a virgin, who would be killed to atone for his sins. In similitude of B"EL's sacrifice, EL instituted animal sacrifices. It was said of B'EL that he would come in the clouds, which he did when he delivered the Israelites from Egypt. This was the basic religion of the patriarchs. EL was the God they worshiped, but B'EL was EL's right hand man and he was given charge of the earth, in other words, he was Lord over the earth. So it was B'EL that appeared to the patriarchs and until Moses he appeared in the name of EL Almighty but when Moses asked him his name B'EL told Moses his name was Yahweh. Well, the devil is the deceiver and he also appeared to men and told them he was B'EL and he taught men to make idols and to worship him, not EL. He also taught them human sacrifice, the idea being the more pure the sacrifice, the more it would please him. By the time of Abraham, the worship of the devil B'EL became quite popular and even Abraham's father worshiped the devil B'EL. The Canaanites also worshiped the devil B'EL. Before the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians, the devil B'EL religion was one of the most popular religions. When the Jews returned to Jerusalem, the devil B'EL religion was strictly taboo. By the time of Jesus, the religion of the Jews said that God was spirit, without body parts or passions. He was invisible and incomprehensible, and impersonal. Then along comes Jesus. At the beginning, it was easy for the many people to accept Jesus as Messiah, and Jesus had many followers as Messiah. but as his ministry progressed, many people started calling him B'EL, son of God. Was Jesus B'EL?, the true B'EL? The religious leadership said, "NO." and they threatened to excommunicate anybody who followed Jesus. When Jesus asked his disciples who they thought he was, Peter said, "You are the Messiah the B' of the living EL." That was blasphemy. Now we come to Judas, Peter believed Jesus was the true B'EL but Judas did not. Believing Jesus was Messiah was OK but the idea that Jesus was a god, he was not going for it. Judas was a devout religious Jew and Jesus was a blasphemer. He had to die. When he went to the Jewish rulers, he was willing to testify before the Sanhedrin that Jesus was teaching he was B'EL, and they paid him to testify. When Judas greated Jesus with a kiss and Jesus said to him, "Do you betray me with a kiss?" Judas was struck with deep remorse of conscious and when it was determined that Jesus was going to be killed, his remorse drove him to suicide. When Judas did not show up to give his testimony, the council still needed something to accuse Jesus with. That prompted the High Priest to abjure Jesus to tell him straight out if he was the Messiah B'EL. Jesus replied, "You are correct, Hereafter you will see me at the right hand of EL and coming in the clouds of Heaven." That was all it took, Jesus testifying against himself. So is there any hope for Judas? Maybe. Owing to the fact that he did not follow through with his testimony before the Sanhedrin, he may still have hope. The fact he committed suicide meant that he would have to go to hell before being redeemed was also certain. How many people today are like Judas, saying they can accept Jesus as Messiah, but cannot accept him as the literal physical son of God?
@Gaz Gandalf But if you want to know the truth, Know Jesus. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. He is the resurrection and the life. Let him be your teacher. Only then will you understand.
Some interesting points. But the Gospel of John is late and reworked by multiple hands? The evidence of this is what? I didn't see any presented. Historians go for the earliest evidence as the most reliable. Among other things, the Muratorian Canon (CA 155 AD) states "The fourth Gospel is by John, one of the disciples... And thus he professes that he is not only the eye witness but also the hearer, and moreover, also the writer of all the marvels of the Lord as they happened."
A man born not of his own making, destined to betray whether there was free will or not, and to then suicide to be forever condemned in hell?????? Nice god you have to design such a retched existence.

There are two types of people - those who believe and those who don't. The former accepts the Bible as the Truth; the latter go all out to prove the Bible is not.
The problem with that tomb is when did that tomb exist? After Judas hanged himself or before? No mentioned in this video. If it prior to the incident, do you really have a scientific evidences that said so? Matthew 27:6-8 (KJV) "And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day." The bible said that the land is bought after Judas hanged himself. Bought it using his money, his price of blood. That's why the land called the field of blood. If so, that tomb can't be exist before Judas' death. Moreover, i don't think the Bible ever said that Judas hanged himself in that field. Matthew 27:5 (KJV) "And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself." Even though: Acts 1:18 (KJV) "Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out." Because in Acts, Peter didn't seem to say ot in a sense of sequence/chronology. That sentence is consist of 2 separate yet related event: -the chief priests bought the field using Judas' price of blood. Because it was Judas' money, so that's why Peter said that Judas bought it. -His dead body condition. Peter didn't mention "then he hanged himself", rather he explain the condition of Judas's dead body. If it were a chronological sentence, Peter would said "then he hanged himself" to show a sequence of an incident. But he didn't. The interesting fact is that a high priests tomb is located in a field that bought with money of blood. How come? Was there no other place to buried the dead priests back then? What happened back then? Because it doesn't make sense if the tomb were there before, then they bought the field with price of blood. And doesn't make sense neither if the tomb exist after they bought the land with that money, except there was something happened that made them had no choice to buried the dead priests back then, in the land of blood.
His titles appeal to those wanting to disprove Christianity. I wish the naked archaeologist would open his heart to the possibility that Jesus was HIS JEWISH MESSIAH. Accepting this doesn't have to mean giving up his jewishness....there are many messianic jews who celebrate all the Jewish feasts, Sabbaths....& who adhere to the Torah. The little cap on his head though....tells us all he has been confused by the rabbis who wrote the Talmud....the man made laws that contradict the God given laws. It was this that Jesus objected to & because Jesus told the people not to follow the Talmud laws is why the Jewish leaders killed him. Judas btw, used by Satan committed the sin of "having a better idea than Gods plan. So of course God used Him in His plan. Judas believed Jesus was the Messiah. So Judas thought if he cornered Jesus via the betrayal, handing Him over to the Pharisees....& subsequently the Romans....Jesus would call down an army of angels to free the Jews from the Romans. Of course this didn't happen. The victory Jesus gives us is not over governments but over the evil in ourselves. He gives us love & peace & self control & strength to get through lifes trials. Of course, Simcha doesn't understand the difference between Judas' desire to free the carnal people and leaders of Israel in order for them to rule by the flesh and traditions of men according to JUDAISM, which has no god but rabbis who whitewash their traditions with a facade of Torah...while rejecting Torah. In this regard, we ALL have much to be humble about, as the mainstream Church is just as bound up in LAWLESSNESS (Matthew7:23 anomia, rejection of Torah...which causes Jesus to tell Christians who are active in "ministry" that He never knew them because of their practice of rejecting Torah). Robert, did you know that The Bride of Christ was given a "wedding ring" SIGN between God and His people? Exodus31:13...are you wearing it as a wise virgin? Or are you a casual "virgin" (not an adulterer...but...) without enough oil of Torah, which is the Light for our path, who will be told "I DON"T KNOW YOU..." by the Bridegroom? We all must answer these serious questions, brother. There is no sloppy agape in the Kingdom...all is in order for the Master! I pray that Simcha and those like him will dig more deeply into Torah and leave the Talmud to Babylon where it came from, so that they would see the difference between Christian Ephraim-My-Firstborn (of the New Covenant) which only began when Messiah ratified the Abrahamic Blood Covenant at 3pm on Passover in 30 AD...when the Four Temple Miracles that continued uninterrupted for 40 years began to give manifest warning that the New Covenant had begun! (compare Zechariah10:7 vs 12:10) Of course, Jesus the Messiah WILL return as King and Judge, like Judas the Sicarii and unbelieving Jews like Simcha expected in 30 AD, and will kill His enemies who reject His Word and example with the sword of His mouth, and those who LOVE TRUTH AND KEEP TORAH (identified in Rev14:12 as Saints) will THEN be "with Him and like Him!" Which is the completion of the New Covenant that was begun on Shavu'ot in 30 AD in Jerusalem when the Ruach HaQodesh was given to the Ecclesia of believers in the upper room. BELIEVE!

If Judas did what he did thinking Jesus was going to be a holy war lord against evil and then killed himself to haunt the people that betrayed Jesus in the after life when it went wrong, It makes me see him in another light. I see him as more impulsive and Wreckless now, not a traitor.
Judas iscariot carried A Roman shaped dagger 🗡 Jesus said His Kingdom was Not of this world system (physical). He told His disciples to teach The Truth in Love. He told then Not to fight! Peter cut off the temple guards ear Marcus when they came to arrest Jesus! Jesus healed his ear He said if you live by the sword (physical fighting, you will die by the sword) Judas fulfilled this teaching, his stomach cut open Judas is given a title in The Scriptures The Son of Perdition!
Fr. Payton of the Family Crusade said that Judas could have been one of the greatest of the apostles, because he was given the hardest task by Jesus to fulfill the scriptures and the will of God. If he did not commit suicide and instead repented and preached the words of Christ as a true witness, he would have contributed more on the understanding of the sacrifice the Son of Man did, to save all of mankind. Many more would have accepted Jesus as the true Messiah.
Judas already had an inside tip on a land investment, and seized the opportunity to leverage the 30 pieces of silver into 1,000's of pieces of silver. He got scammed and ended up buried on that piece of land,,
It is interesting that someone who claims to be Jewish but refuses to recognize a person, who was acknowledged historically as a Jew from the line of King David, should be credited as the dividing line for the change of world history from ancient to current time. I think your programs are both interesting & informative but at least when dealing with this case you diverge from scientific method to insist on a political adamant conclusion. Your premise that the historical problems between Jews & Christians was Judas's betrayal is totally false. After CHRIST, all the most beloved people in the Gospels were Jews from Mother Mary to John. Refusing to understand the context that statements were made does not prove your case. Any physical violence by Christians against anyone was antithetical to teachings of CHRIST therefore condemned. This was shown when CHRIST rebuked Simon Peter for cutting off the guard's ear. I am sure you are right that Judas hung himself in front of the tomb of the lead accuser's family as a message. I am also sure Judas tried to force JESUS CHRIST into leading a violent revolution against Rome. Judas Iscariot also knew the leaders of the Sanhedrin wanted to kill JESUS. If a soldier convinces his general to lead his army into a trap believing retreating down a different path will lead to victory then that messenger is a traitor not a hero. One of the reason Judas Iscariot was chosen is that people, like angels even chosen by GOD, have Free Will can and will betray GOD. While most true Christians would never take revenge but people are people with all its flaws. If you want to know why some people claiming to be Christians turned anti-semitic you have only to look at their treatment of Stephen and other Christians, many who were Jewish. Understanding what evil leaders do to accomplish unscrupulous goals should enlighten you why problems occured. Even the early Jewish prophets understood what losing that little piece of flesh after birth meant.
I think orthodox Jews telling us what the new testament is about and glibly tossing off offense ideas about the faith of others is not something that should be given much credence.
Wake up people.. Judas is inoccent.. Read the bible! He was only possessed by Satan.. And later felt guilty without knowing how he did betray his bestfriend and master.. Luke 22:3-6 KJV Then entered "Satan" into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. [4] And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. [5] And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. [6] And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude. Judas is inoccent.. He was possessed by Satan. That is why Jesus said to him in the Gospel of Judas.. He will grieve a great deal, because someone will replace him.. That is the Devil, the Demon, Satan.. Jesus answered and said, “You will become the thirteenth, and you will be cursed by the other generations-and you will come to rule over them. In the last days they will curse your ascent to the holy [generation].” - Gospel of Judas
@@misterbean7290 Jesus himself talks of his betrayal by Judas. (John 13:21-28). the betrayal was in the act of Judas taking his eyes, heart, and faith off Christ for long enough to be taken over by satan. After 35 years studying the different interpretations of the New Testament, especially about Judas. I found the RCC view of Judas delivering Jesus to the Hebrew priests, not the Romans interesting. And that the Romans didn't want to execute Jesus and when the Hebrew priests handed Jesus to the Romans, the Romans placed a murderer and Jesus before a crowd of locals asking which of the men the locals wanted Crucified, and the locals cried out for Jesus to be Crucified! Judas did nothing wrong. But I believe that the Hebrew priests abuse of Judas' trust by handing Jesus to the Romans to be Crucified, it was for that reason Christians became antisemitic. Holy scriptures have been used for thousands of years and still to this day as a means to occupy, oppress, terrorise, slaughter and ethnically cleanse. After years of studying Christian Bibles, The Qur'an and the Torah (the 3 Abrahamic branches of the one family Tree, killing one another in the name of the same God), I am back to my ancient Gods of Tuatha De Danann, Eiru & Brid roots with no discrimination and everyone is equal.
Scripture has never been used to terrorise and such that is just your interpretation.. it is human concupiscence.. the tendency to sin that makes humans do terrible things, Jesus teaching is meant to oppose that tendency. What Christians do is preach, we're not perfect some may not follow the teachings and sin, but Christianity doesnt teach us to be antisemitic, terrorize and such. also there is a difference from what secular entities do (human greed hence concupiscence.. Christian or not). and if you follow those "ancient gods", are there any historical evidence of them being real or are they just myths and legends?
Why was this NT contradiction discussed? Matthew 27:5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself. Acts 1:18 Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out.
My understanding is that Judas "betrayed" Jesus as Judas' role to the final chapter of Jesus' earthly life. It was the people during Jesus' trial when they said "Let his blood be upon us and our children" that we feel that the punishment of the Jewish people began. (Mathew 25). It's not anti-Semitism.
According to the law of the time, Judas was innocent. What damned him was his moral separation from God, and the spiritual weight that came with that: He took the wisest, purest, kindest, and most precious person who ever walked on the planet, and he sold him and his following for a profit. And not only did that include the horrible betrayal of a friend to be condemned to horrible death, but the discontinuation of what was - regardless of how you interpret the text - a movement of God. Betraying a man, a brother, a friend, a helper, GOD HIMSELF. Judas didn’t condemn Jesus directly, but he is still charged with pulling the trigger on that chain of events. And he defiled his own forgiveness by shaming Christ by causing his own death over the tomb of who he believed betrayed him, but whom he ultimately condemned.
The first interviewee about something in the gospel of John, "This seems to be accurate historical documentation". It's just laughable. We might just as well search for evidence of Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins.
The new testament has the far more documentary evidence than any ancient literature of it's era. Why is this laughable to you? Have you studied the available information and evidence? Or are you relying on what you've heard others say? The new testament presents itself as eyewitness accounts, while Tolkien presents his book as fiction. It would be more important to compare the new testament to other works of antiquity of it's time. And if the vast wealth of documentary evidence isn't enough for you, understand that not only would you be in disagreement with the scholars who study historical documents, you'd also have to throw out every single piece of ancient literature as unreliable. Think about this, ancient literature with far less documentary evidence than the new testament is taught at the university level as historically preserved and accurate to the original writing, such as Homer's Illiad and Odyssey.
@@justinmacaluso8712 I have been a biblical researcher for over thirty years, so no, I do not rely on what others say. No, the New Testament absolutely does not present itself as eye witness accounts. Paul is the earliest author. He freely admits he never met Jesus and his work seems to have begun at least ten years after the events described in the gospels. Biblical scholars today, even those who are firm believers, accept that none of the gospel authors were eyewitnesses. They were written between 20 and 120 years after the crucifixion, by people who already believed in the divinity of Jesus, living in a different country, speaking a different language. Even the authors name are false and were added many years later to try to add authority. There are so many differences in the gospels, many of them very important, that it is impossible to see them as simply different perspectives. There is a vast difference between teaching the Iliad and the Odyssey and believing the New Testament. For one thing, the stories are acknowledged to be mythologized accounts only loosely based on events that may or may not have happened and it is widely accepted that Homer may not have been a single individual. But it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because no other contemporary writings, or older, make the claims that the New Testament does. If you wish us to view the New Testament the same as we do the Iliad and the Odyssey, I'm ok with that but I suspect you do not. I respect your right to believe in the Bible but please do not try to prove it is true. People have been trying for hundreds of years but no-one has succeeded.
@@Outspoken.Humanist John says in John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." So there he is confessing that he and others saw him and his glory with his own eyes. John 19:35 "The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe." Again, eyewitness testimony Luke 1:1-2 "Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word." These things were fulfilled among the people that lived in that time and again claims to be eyewitness testimony. The book of Acts also shows many times the apostles claimed to be eyewitnesses of Jesus resurrected from the dead. Sorry I could only respond to your first point. I will get to the rest when I have more time.
@@justinmacaluso8712 The first thing to say is that no scholar would ever use a text to prove itself, just on its own word. If we allow that reasoning we must accept the Quran as the final testament and all convert to Islam because the Quran tells us, many times, it is the word of God. I'm sure neither of us believes that. Next I would point out that the first two quotes you offered do not demonstrate the author was an eyewitness. The gospel of John is very different to the synoptic gospels, not only in contradictory accounts but in style and obvious purpose. It is trying to portray a theological mystery in Jesus, rather than the plain story telling of the other three. In this way, your first quote refers to the Word becoming flesh and the glory of the son. It is not saying I saw him, only that he was seen. It is an affirmation of faith. Believers claim to have similar experiences today. The second is even written in the third person and whilst it is common for Christians to see this as the author speaking of himself, there is no reason to accept this, especially in light of your third quote, from Luke, which was written before John and actually states how the story was "handed down to us" by eyewitnesses. This phrase clearly suggests the passage of time. It is not something one would use for events one had been an witness to. Biblical scholars no longer assert that the author of John was John, son of Zebedee. The gospel was written in good Greek and displays a sophisticated theology, and is clearly not the work of a simple Jewish fisherman. In fact, the earliest full gospel manuscripts we have are without authors' names. These were only added much later, probably as a way of granting some weight to the books when it was decided which would be canonical and which would be discarded. A few years ago I put together an analysis of the gospels' accounts of the crucifixion and resurrection. In addition to lots of small unimportant disparities, it is staggering to see quite how many profound differences there are about key issues, such as Jesus' last words, who was at the tomb and what thy saw and when and to whom Jesus re-appeared. My favourite is Matthew's zombie apocalypse, which even the other gospel authors didn't mention. The dead rose from their graves and walked about Jerusalem greeting people and were seem by many and yet there is no other account of this shattering event. The gospels are not history. They differ wildly and tell of things no -one could have been witness to in total, such as Jesus' childhood and events happening at widely separate locations. They are works of faith, written in a different country and a different language, long after the events they describe. They may even have been a way of strengthening the faith of early Christians, who had until that point relied upon verbal stories when Jesus did not return as promised and his contemporaries began to die.
Lyrics please... Or: all you can, Jesus his own old man is arch-ologie. Jesus just told the disciples that very evening, that he was comparable with slave bread thus being the ultimate slave. 26 - While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.” There are more meanings to it in the end but for the Jews, who ate the Passover lambs meat and had the unleavened bread for the overlapping Week of Unleavened bread, it meant strongly that this was the bread that they ate as slaves in Egypt and the forth going week of the holiday they had bread being this unprepared because they then had to become slaves of God. Either Jesus seemed being a slave or His mission solely purposed for feeding/serving slaves and suppressed people, must have been provoking and He spoke and referred directly to Judas. Judas knew who was suppressed in those days and what this meant for religion. The money that he took must have been given away anyhow so must have thought he was already compromised and that it had meaning as if he was asked to betray. In fact Jesus send letters to His enemies stating that He could not get arrested. Christians prominent believe the unleavened bread was like not doing sin, leaving the old dough out. Especially when you are being freed to follow the Lord towards the promised land. I believe Jesus not only meant departure from the old things and never having done sin but also the purpose (usefulness) for Him teaching - us slaves of sin - about God and being born in poverty, like the punishment for deserting God in paradise was. Whoever thanks him with the thanking wine (to promise on the mount Horeb of how the new given land would be like) for all these things that Jesus was, has part of the new covenant. Now when you make me think about it, I feel people are so confused about Jesus His words that in fact all religions betray Jesus in the same way Judas did. Most Christians eat Jesus and drink His blood, being turned into real flesh and blood magically after taking it, thinking it must be good to have his way of performing good deeds that close, as being inside them. What is your personal confusion? What was He worth to you? Where is it good for? Are we from God or from the Devil. Don't we want both good and bad in order not to be dumb and simple souls. Who seeks light from the Bible and the source of the one we say to love so dearly. Betray Him then and right now! The more people nailing Jesus to a pole for every-one to see the better. Nobody could very well understand what He was talking about and that is why. He longed forward to celebrate Passover with His followers and organized a miracle to get there but leaves us utterly confused. This excursion of you has been awe inspiring. Jesus saying "hurt me" "you can do better."
There were 12 disciples and yet the New Testament only had 4 gospels. what happened to the 8 gospels? And why are your so called experts from a country of infidels?
Good question, and you forgot an apostolic that replaced one of them and the Gospel of Mary Madeleine (his follower, one of his closest followers, maybe his wife) .
I always feel conflict over Judas because consider the Messiahs coming and demise was prophesied from Genisis. Someone had to betray Jesus otherwise the prohecy would never of been fulfilled. Someone had to be the one that would be better off never being born Mathew 26: 24 God bless us all 🙏
God with his wisdom and foresight knew that Judas would betray Jesus. Thus the prophecy. God did not give a prophecy and then maneuver events to have it fulfilled. Makes no sense. Jesus came to die to pay off Adam's sin (Romans 5:12-17) thereby releasing Adam's children from inherited sin leading to death (John 3:16). He didn't have to die by betrayal. It just happened that way.
@@tongakhan230Through the Holy Spirit , God reveals His truths to prophets because these things are preordained. Jesus was revealed in Genisis right from the beginning God had His design.
One must read the account. Jesus wasn't preordained. God promised to redeem mankind BECAUSE of the transgression in the garden of Eden. Genesis 3: 14 Then Jehovah God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild animals of the field. On your belly you will go, and you will eat dust all the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring. He (the redeemer) will crush your head, and you will strike him in the heel (non fatal wound).” Notice it was a rectifying promise BECAUSE the descendants of Adam were going to lose out on everlasting life. Instead of sending any angel, God sent his firstborn or only begotten son to redeem mankind. John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. Logically, had Adam not transgressed we wouldn't have known the person called Jesus.
@@tongakhan230 The coming of the Messiah was prophesied all through the old testament. Jesus coming was set right from the apple. Im not going to go over and over. I can agree to disagree.
I don't debate that fact. The word preordained isn't Christian. It gives the impression that one does something because someone is making one do it . Pulling the strings so to speak. Thus, making one NOT responsible for one's actions. Someone said "Judas was preordained to betray Jesus." Once God decided whom He'd send, He then gave indications along the way through Prophecies and promises. 2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit. 2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many the promises of God are, they have become “yes” by means of him (Jesus). Jesus was the fulfillment of God's promises regarding the redeeming of mankind.
The Jesus character definitely instructed the Judas character to do it. Judas was his favorite and the only apostle Jesus character didn't consider to be an idiot. Further explained in gospel of Judas. The church father weirdos though kept this secret except as a perk for their top donors.
"And Jesus said unto Judas the Accountant, 'Go sell something we don't need.' And Judas returned with 30 bucks and Jesus said, 'Just what we need. What did you sell?' And Judas said, 'YOU!'"
30 sheckles of silver was one of the brides prices in ancient kettubah Judas was the one in charge of the money he was meant to first earn the coins and to hand it over to the temple.
Sounds believable until you actually read the Bible: 21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. The fact that Jesus literally said “one of you will betray me” and “satan entered into him”(Judas), tells me all I need to know.

Incredible!

The idea of Judas hanging himself there was a way to defile the Annas family tombs. That is correct.

Jesus needed someone he could trust and he had trusted Judas in the past with the money bag and had picked Judas as one of the 12 for this reason. Eve was not born of woman but from Adam's rib, god's spit and breath.
Neither possessed female chromosomes therefore it was not Adam and Eve it was Adam and Steve. Steve was a clone of Adam.

@@donaldfernandes7798 Jesus of Galilee was a Judean? And Pontius Pilate was the nice guy responsible for slaughtering 1,500 Galileans at Lake Tiberius an event that alienated the Tetrarch Antipas? And the Galileans and Judeans were such good friends. Time for you to read Josephus.
When did Judas have time to write a gospel?
Hahahahahahah my thoughts exactly
Its the Gnostic Christians wrote it.

Wouldn't the very act of justifying hatred and brutality automatically disqualify someone from calling themselves a Christian?
Christianity doesnt teach Judas as symbol for anti semitism. if a Christian does that he is not following Jesus teaching.
"Did Judas really betray Jesus?" is like the serpent speech saying " You will not surely die.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Very interesting interpretation. I like it.
You made me understand somethings that I was unclear about in the Book of Judas. Well said and glad you have a large understanding of the scriptures.

And thus he professes that he is not only the eye witness but also the hearer, and moreover, also the writer of all the marvels of the Lord as they happened."

totally cool man!
I think the fact that Judas committed suicide answers this question completely...
Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day."
The bible said that the land is bought after Judas hanged himself. Bought it using his money, his price of blood.
That's why the land called the field of blood.
If so, that tomb can't be exist before Judas' death.
Moreover, i don't think the Bible ever said that Judas hanged himself in that field.
Matthew 27:5 (KJV) "And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself."
Even though:
Acts 1:18 (KJV) "Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out."
Because in Acts, Peter didn't seem to say ot in a sense of sequence/chronology.
That sentence is consist of 2 separate yet related event:
-the chief priests bought the field using Judas' price of blood.
In response to the title, yes he did and regretted it deeply.
He didn't repent...he felt sorry only.
As a Zionist...rebel...he was losing patience with Jesus. He wanted Jesus to be a David , a warrior (this will be Jesus second coming). Yes Judas knew Jesus was the Messiah....but also YES Judas betrayed Him. For knowing Jesus was God....how could He not trust God to handle things best? To think you have a better plan than God is just arrogance & ignorance.

Good detective work. Thank you.
Apparently, Judas focused more on the "revolt & conquer" military aspect instead of the "repent & conquer" spiritual aspect. Too bad he was not listening to what Jesus was trying to tell him. Lesson for all Jews to consider.
Remember when JESUS was in the desert and tempted by Satan the last time. JESUS's last reply was don't tempt the LORD, thy GOD. Judas should have remember that and rejected the belief that once CHRIST was faced with HIS OWN demise that HE would change both HIS OWN heart and the hearts of the murderous pharisees who controlled the Sanhedrin.
Lot of people made confusion between Judas and Jewish. A very damaging thing, which has lead to cruel consequences.

That is usually correct...but Simcha got this one right! BELIEVE!

@@misterbean7290 Jesus himself talks of his betrayal by Judas. I just feel sorry for the other disciples who died horribly for spreading God's Word. They're truly loyal.

My understanding is that Judas "betrayed" Jesus as Judas' role to the final chapter of Jesus' earthly life. It was the people during Jesus' trial when they said "Let his blood be upon us and our children" that we feel that the punishment of the Jewish people began. (Mathew 25). It's not anti-Semitism.
My mom lost 3 girls then had me. So the other girls are in heaven
According to the law of the time, Judas was innocent.
What damned him was his moral separation from God, and the spiritual weight that came with that:
He took the wisest, purest, kindest, and most precious person who ever walked on the planet, and he sold him and his following for a profit.
The same with congressional records and court transcripts.

John says in John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
So there he is confessing that he and others saw him and his glory with his own eyes.
John 19:35 "The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe."
Again, eyewitness testimony
Luke 1:1-2 "Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word."
These things were fulfilled among the people that lived in that time and again claims to be eyewitness testimony.

He (the redeemer) will crush your head, and you will strike him in the heel (non fatal wound).”
Notice it was a rectifying promise BECAUSE the descendants of Adam were going to lose out on everlasting life.
Someone said "Judas was preordained to betray Jesus."
Once God decided whom He'd send, He then gave indications along the way through Prophecies and promises.

Sounds believable until you actually read the Bible:
21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
