- On August 24, 2022 I was peacefully exercising our First Amendment right to record in public and publicly accessible areas at the Watervliet City Hall located in Watervliet, New York. If you would like to give compliments or would like to redress your grievances to our government about the conduct in my video, the information is below.

It's also why it's important to do things like this, record every interaction you see between govt officials and members of the public, file complaints if needed and get a lawyer if your rights have been violated. People like this need to be educated and held accountable BEFORE they cost tax payers even more money in lawsuits or kill someone for their power trip.

Putting paper up is called prior restraint and is a specific violation of your civil rights.
And there are state statutes in many states that address that as a Statutory Crime/ Civil Rights Violation (such as the Bain Act in California, California Penal Code 148.G, etc. - That one would be a good one for him to look up).

The Chief of Police is an embarrassment to all law enforcement, to the town and people he is paid to serve. Why do I have the overwhelming feeling that he is corrupt and just straight up evil? Thinking someone should start looking for the bodies with this one.

The Sergeant actually has a duty to intervene when another officer is violating civil rights. The Sergeant is afraid of his Chief and that is wrong.
I would file formal complaints with city hall and the Chief.

Well, I am Italian. This kind of video is very interesting to me because it shows me how your public administration works and how the buildings were constructed and organized. So as long as you don't break any laws to make them, I find that they have a lot of educational value and can be a good reason to justify your presence and work in publicly accessible areas. The American people are on your side and support you, NY State Audit. The Sgt should also be held accountable because he participated (complicit) in the tyranny of the Chief. You must file complaints and obtain a copy of the police department's code of conduct for officers. Keep us updated.

The crime he committed is called Prior restraint! Suppression of material that would be published or broadcast, on the grounds that it is libelous or harmful. In US law, the First Amendment severely limits the ability of the government to do this.

I was so disgusted by a CHIEF insulting you, threatening you and escalating that I shared this story with WRGB.
I SUFFER with mental health and I promise, if ANYONE calls the wrong person mental in a back stairwell accompanied with them being a clown, it will trigger them.
This Chief is suppose to be the mentor for others on how to deescalate, how to communicate to the public (you were not a criminal) and how to PROPERLY interact with people whom have mental illnesses.

After watching many, many, many A1 audits, I have never seen a "police chief" as unhinged as this one. I was actually afraid for you. He has no business working for the public. He needs to be removed from that job ASAP.

I've believe that these audit visits are a bit like taking one brick down at a time. That is why the auditors are amazing people they are in it for the long game. He was surrounded by jackels! Very brave.
