What a handsome, talented and sexy human being! He has one of the most beautiful, rich and sensuous voices ever I'm in love with him since I was 12 years old
Anniefog yes indeed he sure is. Can't imagine why he got hooked on playing bad guy characters, cuz he's so much greater than that. P.S.: is he actually playing the piano here or is he just synching along with someone else? Cuz I've never read before that he studied the piano before; to my knowledge he's only studied vocals-and how glad we are that he did. ☺☺☺
@@ss-gv1te I know he can play the piano and quite talented at it. His older sister, Judith, was a concert pianist. Not sure if he is playing the scene, but I'm certain I've seen him play before.
There's some seriously deep layers to this performance: Tim's character is actually a figment of her imagination! Her character was r**** as a 16 year old and she smothered the baby made from that encounter three days after he was born. So Tim came to her as a hallucination as the "long lost" son she never knew. His character is disturbed, playful, naughty, and regressed into a man-child who just wants to be a little kid and for his mother to actually raise him. This story is so touching, sad, dark, and at times funny. Tim Curry navigates all these complexities with apparent ease. I was thoroughly impressed by what he did with this role. I know that in a very recent interview, when asked about this particular performance, he said that he really didn't do much to prepare for it. The pure talent of this man is unequalled.
Watching this magnificent beautiful stuff I wish that moments like this had been my introduction to Tim Curry instead of me getting to first know him as king of the bad guys. It's amazing how adorably Mr. Nice Guy he can get.

At 3:16 it sounds to me likeTim starts imitating Al Jolson. I wonder if this is because that would be the style of singing popular 20 years prior when the mother was young, and is a sign that she is drifting off into a romantic fantasy. TC is so fantastically creepy doing that voice!
Can anyone explain the premise of the show this song is from, Schmoedipus? Half the time I was worried they were going to "get together" as mother and son, and the other half I was worried he was lying and wanting to kill her. Turns out I was wrong on both and the ending left me even more confused.

A rather black film!!! BUT, as a Tim Curry fan, I know this was his beginnings before he became so famous for Rocky Horror. But even in this film, you can sense the capability of weirdness of attitude that carried him forward in weird roles. His singing voice is awesome, and he actually put out an album in the 70's. I just love Tim Curry, have done so for over 30 years. I DIDN'T like his role in Criminal Minds! He seemed totally undone!
Ok Glen claims to be Elizabeth's long lost son. She was raped when she was just a child and became pregnant and the baby was taken from her and put up for adoption. Glen eventually tells her that he burned down his adoptive parents home and escaped from a mental institution.
from what i read before that he actually doesn't exist! she imagined it all sincr she felt guilty after abortion when she was a teenager and imagined what he would be like someday in life.

He's too gorgeous for anyone to handle!
Hard to imagine he was never married

I met him Saturday and he was so nice, kind, and genuine 🥺💜 damn that stroke. It took his body but not mind and heart
he’s so beautiful man i CANT.
I love how, when compared with more modern recordings, his voice really hasn't changed.

This movie was good, I watched it last year in October. This has been my favorite scene out of the most.
So beautiful 🌹
Oh my GOD!!! Beautiful!!!!
One of his best roles and one of my favourites ❤️

Anya Lienau that may be the more operatic and extra, super duper powerful qualities of his voice that we're hearing there. Mighty, mighty stuff.
He does that voice in a lot of movies. I’ve always wondered why he did that voice tone myself. I love this mans quirky look 👀 so sexy
I think that makes sense, Al Jolson sang songs about loving his mother almost exclusively. You’re definitely right.
such a beautiful voice and talent
Just live Tim curry....Australia 🙋♀️
«More? Do you want more?»
Umm … YES
Tim Curry could seduce a corpse back to life I swear to fucking god.
I wish I was this Easily Forgiving of my parents and their wrong doings!
Jolson impression ..nice
The... blackface? There's blackface in this video?
Vintage Potter
How many of you actually cried during this scene?
Me!! 🥺
Me, I cried hard

It's implied that Glen isn't real; it's in her imagination. She's succumbing to the trauma of letting her child being taken away as a teenager.

Another fantastic piece of writing by Alan Bennett and, of course, gloriously acted by Tim Curry.
I think he was 20 when he played in the rocky horror picture show, although he looked 15 with dat makeup on, lol
In rocky horror (at least the movie version) he was 29, I think.
+Brie B yes i thought he was 26 when he made the movie rocky but i think you are right
He was 29 when he starred in the film cut of The Rocky Horror Picture Show but he was 27 when he first starred in the stage productions.
There exists a parody of that song in the sitcom taahm 🎉
Hey does anyone know where I can find the sheet music for this song on piano?

There relationship is very questionable in the sexual manner.
