This has been THE best age content in the history of Age of Empires. Truly a battle of absolute TITANS in the RTS world. I cannot believe that I am lucky enough to be alive in such a time to witness such masterful gameplay. My life has been made better just laying eyes on this level of showmanship. As a gold league warrior...age ups have been happening really fast compared to when the game came out. I think the overall skill curve for the opening has naturally flattened. Meaning, a majority of people have access to build orders, youtubers, it really goes a long way as far as openings are concerned. Yet as you you mentioned the real difference comes into things like, ques, idle times, etc, pushes. So in summary, really fast age ups, but almost no bite behind it. IME
I dont think the age up timing should surprise anyone in this game. Ppl expect only babies in silver and bronze lel. But what I think * should * surprise ppl is the level of aggression from these players. Sure they will have a diagonal mine but they will try to kill your fish and stop your age up. I don't think that is representative of the greater player base in their league. But I do know some ppl are like that. They have their idea as to what they need to do. Ive definitely run into gold players with 30 APM and they will aggress upon age up in Feudal. (And it works well vs other gold players.)
@@brycehammerton4542 That's due to not enough ppl on the ladder. You can look up the division population stats on aoe4world. Conq for example had ~1000 ppl last two season. Right now it has 200. Distribution is ofc near identical. By and large, one can say that the aoe4 player base has not started rank this season.
Honestly what I would love would be an outback octagon for the low league players. Doesnt have to be a full tournament just one game with the octagon 2 ruleset (maybe minus the random civ part). I imagine hilarious things would happen, like kings walking into enemy TCs and dying.
The whole game was great but in case someone out there can't spare 1 hour and 47 minutes of their time I would suggest watching even just around 6-7 minutes of some of the best part imho Suggest you check out 01:26:49 until 01:33:00 -ish

This is so frustrating to watch, I literally installed AoE4 last week - I'm sure I don't understand almost anything here but blue having that naval superiority and not doing anything with it seems worse than red idling his gigachad army for almost all of the game! hahaha what an amazing watch, still though! :P

Skill curve is crazy right now. I used to cruise into plat in earlier seasons with minimal effort. Now I am way better at the game and am stuck gold 3
