    I read your comments first and saw a lot of people thanking you for saving them time. I thought I would watch for about 10 mins and then bounce to another video. The comments were right, this video was amazingly helpful. I started with a Kuula account to try it out. I've already posted a short tour of one of our school gyms for our vendors. Thank you so much! I'll check out your course too.

    I just want to take a moment to compliment you on keeping the software title up during the entirety of each review. Too many reviewers show the title/item when they introduce it and then take it away and you can easily forget which one they are reviewing part way through the review. Thanks!

    I use 3Dvista and I love the adaptive hdr tool they have. You take pictures in différend exposures and when you view those in the tour, they change automatically if there is a dark or bright spece. That solves the 'unrealistic' feel of hdr footage!

    wow so useful, thank you! I'm just going to have a look at their websites now (May 2020) to see if anything changed.
    For me I picked:
    Theasys - Because its free, gets a professionalish end result and its easy to use especially bc I'm very new at this.
    Kuula - Cheap price but professional and sort of customizable
    Panoskin - Cheap, good for when I have some experience in the future, very customizable
    3Dvista - For when I'm a master at this lol
    I am going to start doing this for the yachting industry so I need something cheap or free, easy to use for someone new, and very customizable as clients wouldn't like any external logo on their tours. One of the most important features it has to have is that I can share it in many different ways, as a link or put it directly on our website, so I'll try and see how this goes...
    Again Thank you very much I'll keep learning from you!

    Dude... I've watched your videos before but this one made me subscribe! I just had to... what an incredible amount of work you've put into this!!
    I'm in the real estate business so Matterport is my easy pick - the 360 camera integration earlier this year made this a no-brainer for me. You wouldn't believe how much the "Ohhhhh... Matterport" effect actually works on realtors. :) Plus, their platform does 80% of the work for me allowing me to quickly get the job done and move on to another shoot the next day.
    Keep up the great work!!

    Thanks a lot Ben, you saved me a lot of time and probably from making a bad choice.
    There are 2 things that are still in the air :
    - License upgrade price
    - Best for what? (sector of activity)...
    - Recommendation on drones?
    I guess your ratings are good for real estate business which is my case. How about walking tours for instance?...
    And last, I heard about another tool called GeoCV... Curiously the website seem to be inactive...
    Thanks again... #StayAtHome

    Hi Ben, this is John from Malaysia. Firstly, I am extremely glad Kuula is your 1st Choice of Virtual Tour Software as it is mine. I had been exposed to Virtual Tours for Interior Design for 3-4 years now and just recently did a couple of projects using Kuula and charged my client with a good fee. Kuula by far is the most easy use and user friendly with various customization as well as Domain and SSL Certificates for Business users. Thank you for your video as I'm looking forward to improve my Virtual Tour experience and step up a few levels with your recommendations and throughs on other VR softwares!

    • @costinvaly1
      @costinvaly1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John I have a question, do you also host your clients tours? I’m fresh in this virtual tour biz and I want to offer it to certain businesses that aren’t just real estate agencies. I have many businesses that have nothing to do with real estate and yet they still want a virtual tour but what I saw is that Kuula is monthly based and if I’d charge a customer once then host his tour forever then I’m basically making no profit in the long run. What’s your approach if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you!

    • @costinvaly1
      @costinvaly1 ปีที่แล้ว

      P.s. since I don’t wanna lose money on long run hosting for clients, 3DVista’s one time fee seems the best choice.

      You use ricoh's app to take the photos. When taken, the 360 photos upload to your phone. I then use ANYTRANS for my iphone to upload to my computer. I then log on KUULA and upload the theta z1's photos to KUULA. The process is very easy.

  • @beksf
    @beksf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Amazing video for the sheer quantity of apps you were able to run through and all the great info. I bought my Insta360 OneX last year based on your many review videos and I am happy with it. Good job!
    I personally like using Cupix and occasionally matterport since it has a great app and a couple of features that make clients go wow. What I don't like about a lot of the other ones you mentioned is that they require you to manually link each photo which would be fine for 10 photos but when you're dealing with 30-50 you might go insane. I'm used to my apps doing all that work for me.
    Noticed a heavy bias towards publishing to googles street in the ratings. There are a lot of clients I know that don't want that though and I noticed some of these apps won't even let you post a sample tour unless you are doing a google street which is a bummer.
    3D vista looks amazing. I hope to graduate to it eventually.

      Excellent video. It's left me torn though. As a 2nd year realtor who has a few other side hustles. What would be the one you would recommend for virtual residential tours?
      -low cost to free. One time payment is fine but I don't want a monthly payment.
      -download the tour or embedded link is perfect.
      -not too basic, no coding at all
      From the video I think 3DVista or Theasys
      I suppose I can try the free first and buy the other (3DVista) later. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have a question, if you use some of the products, Pano2VR and 3DVISTA for instance, you still will need a separate site to host your 3d tours, correct? Can you do a separate video on the best hosting services if you're using one of the "build-your-own" 3d tour softwares like these?

    Hi Ben, as the photographer for a non profit organisation, I convinced them to pay me to create a virtual tour so that the prospect students who intends to spend a week in Ottawa get to see what this youth center has to offer; outside entertainment hockey rink, basketball etc, ...inside; main lobby, salon, classrooms, kitchen, dorms etc. I have photographed every rooms with digital DSLR Canon EOS and 360 with an InstaOneX (That I bought off 360ware ; off your link last year.)
    So far I have segregated the 2D and the 360 on separate folders which I will photoshop each of them to remove the tripod and shadows.
    Now, from your video, I feel like 3DVista is the one to get since the center has rooms with TV screens which i could insert videos on them, library to link to some documents (since this center formerly named Terry Fox) has some history since 1985, a digital map of the city off Google and the location of the center.
    My superiors gave me the mandate to proceed with this virtual tour project so the kids can access it through social media platforms along with their web page.
    You gave 3DVista almost a 10. I have downloaded it and I think this is the one I should get since its costs seems to have lowered to $200.00 (US ).
    I just need from you a confirmed approval based on your findings which software that I should buy or use.
    I am still "wrapping my head" about the different demos that I have downloaded but still undecided on which one to get. I feel that 3Dvista maybe overkill but I know its going to achieve a very "classy" finish.
    To know more about this organisation, check their web site: Google: Encounters with Canada. Under the personnel tab, you"ll see my name and pic. You will also have a grip about their mission and achievements.
    Can't hardly wait to hear from you mate.
    Cheers.
    Gilles.

    Pano2VR all the way with me. You can also add code yourself so you can do the same as KR pano if you wish. In Pano2VR you can also make your own skins so the magazine\ look is easily achievable. However, as you rightly say there is a learning curve.

    Hey Ben! great overall review of the statw of the art now at virtual tour software. Just want to clarify, krpano tours are not coded on that app (Krpano tools), it has some lateral uses instead for developers, mainly tours are coded from a text editor. Been krpano developer for about 8 years now and I'm quite convinced is the best virtual tour software this days, is just that learning curve is a bit steep, but once you understand krpano logic it gives you all the freedom to do exactly what you want. Don't want to sound cocky or something but to give you an insight of this great software, in the end, with the latest release (1.20) krpano can reproduce tours from all those platforms (3D vista included), just won't have that easyness of editing, which is indeed not a point on it's favor.

I have been using 3Dvista for about 3 years now and I am not disappointed. Even if you find a short coming with the software the development team usually adds fixes and adds new features all the time. The software now already looks very different from say late 2016. You could write a book series on the software and its capabilities.

    I’ve use VeeR to quickly mock-up virtual tours, before producing the final tour in 3DVista Pro. I’ve also recommended it to my students to create virtual tours from their Lumion 360° renderings. However, VeeR has recently made some changes to their platform, so doesn’t meet my needs anymore. Grateful to hear about Theasys. Had been considering the free plans of EyeSpy360 or Cupix.
    I had originally planned to go with Matterport (with their camera), but as Ben said, their pricing structure may be great for real estate, but sucks for a lot of other users. I produce educational virtual tours of construction sites for architectural, engineering and construction students. I would have had to pay monthly to maintain my tours, when students only need access a few mouth of the year. They also weren’t willing to offer any kind of educational discount like other companies do.

    A great plus for 3d Vista is, that the devs are super fast with answering questions. They put out updates in a very fast paste. I am super happy with this software... Of course, there could be some improvments (node based connection of different ponoramas, mostly ease of use features) but all in all this is software is worth it's money.
